Shanie was absolutely incredible to work with as my wedding makeup artist! Right from the beginning she was kind, communicative, and genuine. She made me feel at ease during our makeup trial, and didn't bat an eye when I said I wanted to change things up for my wedding day. She even gave me a list of products to try out leading up to the wedding day. She answered my many many questions all throughout the process. On the morning of my wedding she was on time and proactive, making sure I was ready on time and looking even better than I imagined. Her calmness and confidence reassured me on one of the most stressful mornings of my life. If you have a chance to work with Shanie you will be in the best hands! I never felt more beautiful, and more myself, than on my wedding day - thanks to Shanie! read more

Shanie did an incredible job on my wedding makeup! I felt so special and like an elevated version of myself. She uplifted my natural features and listened closely to what I wanted. Shanie is especially great at making your skin look divine--after my trial, she recommended some products and approaches for my skin, which I am using many months later. Shanie is an incredible makeup artist and I couldn't recommend her enough. She was professional, talented and (most of all) she brought a calm, positive energy to the morning of my wedding that I didn't even know I needed. She listened carefully to what I wanted, chose products based on my skin type and made suggestions that ended up being spot-on (like to add more blush for the photos.) She also did a fantastic job on my mom, who kept joking Shanie made her look "30 years younger." Her portfolio already speaks for itself and she certainly delivered on quality, attention to detail and overall vibes. I know you only get married once but... I'll be looking for any excuse to work with her again! read more

Shanie did my makeup for my recent elopement in Santa Barbara. She was on time, kind, and professional. She was able to fully explain what she was doing as she was doing it... and she explained the why behind her process. My makeup lasted all day with zero issues. She asked thoughtful questions to make sure she matched the style makeup I wanted. She is also the skincare queen! Seriously! My skin was glowing all day and it didn't look like I had 100 layers of makeup on. If you want to look like an enhanced version of yourself... hire her. I'm still amazed at how great my skin looked. The makeup photographed great. The quality was great. I felt great. read more

Shanie did my makeup for my microwedding in Santa Barbara and did an INCREDIBLE job. She was punctual, easygoing, and worked within a pretty tight schedule. She explained everything as she went, which was helpful for me (and my nerves!). Shanie also took the time to understand how I usually do my makeup and how she could emulate that while still making sure I felt comfortable and looked great all day. She really made me feel beautiful, and everyone agreed that I looked fantastic. :) I highly recommend Shanie and her work, she is just the best. read more

Shanie is amazing! She is professional, super knowledgable, and vert personable. I waited way too long to look for a makeup and hair service for my wedding and thankfully found Shanie who just happened to be available. She even went out of her way to help me find a hair stylist. We met over zoom and she gave me recommendations for my skin care routine after listening to my vision. I don't live in Santa Barbara so didn't think I'd be able to fit in a makeup trial, but Shanie made accommodations for me last minute when we came into town. The makeup on the wedding day was exactly what I wanted. Shanie is so talented and actually listens to what you want. I also had a huge wedding party and she was able to accommodate everyone. We were all ready on time and everyone loved their makeup. I can't recommend her enough!! Thank you Shanie for making the day so beautiful and stress free! read more

Shanie is unbelievably talented! She did my makeup for both my rehearsal dinner and my wedding, along with all of my bridesmaids. Everyone loved her work - in fact, my sister wanted to hire her for her wedding coming up in the fall but Shanie was already booked. She is so sweet, was early both days, so organized, has the best products, and is truly so good at what she does. I couldn't have loved my makeup more - it was flawless! Thank you, Shanie! read more

Shanie Crosbie is a brilliant and versatile make up artist! Admittedly, I was nervous about finding a makeup artist in Santa Barbara who could create a look to compliment my bronze complexion (for Black girls the color matching struggle is real). I live and work in Los Angeles in the Entertainment Industry and so having the right look is very important to me. I was so relieved to place my face in Shanie's capable hands! She made me glow on a day when I really needed to and for that I am forever grateful! Beyond that, she was such a joy to be around- Kind, attentive, humorous, understanding, everything you need a great aesthetic artist to be. I would happily work with her again and highly recommend her for your beauty needs! Thank you, Shanie!! read more

If I could give Shanie 6 stars, I would! I can't say enough about how wonderful it was to work with Shanie - she is talented, professional, friendly, listens and truly gets to know you before she starts, and honestly made me feel so comfortable throughout the whole process. Santa Barbara was a destination wedding for us so planning from afar already had its own set of challenges and the makeup process was great. I had exchanged emails and text messages with Shanie throughout planning and flew down to SB to meet her and do a trial run 2 months before the wedding and it was a great experience. I honestly do not wear too much makeup regularly so it was hard to describe what I was trying to go for. I wanted to feel dolled-up but not look like a completely different person. It was helpful to share some makeup looks with her and she was able to quickly understand exactly the look I'd feel comfortable with and was trying to achieve. She is receptive to feedback and made sure to take notes along the way. I had 4 bridesmaids and my mom getting makeup done with me day of and she coordinated with my hair stylist to ensure space and schedule would line up to fit right into the timeline of the day. Everyone loved working with her (my bridal party & other vendors) and everything ran so smoothly throughout the day that I attribute it to professionals like Shanie that are willing to work with other vendors (stylists, planners, coordinators, etc.) to make sure our day was perfect moving to timeline. And because we also got married during COVID, I also appreciated that Shanie was open and transparent with me about her safety protocols - keeping a mask on during the process, etc. I SO appreciated this because we had some older family members and kids attending, although everyone eligible was vaccinated it was just one less thing I had to worry about. I can't thank Shanie enough - I had never felt so pretty in my life! The makeup lasted all day/evening through all the happy tears, dancing, and hugs. I feel so fortunate to have met her and to have been able to book her for my wedding! read more

Can not say enough amazing things about Shanie. I interviewed and got quotes from more than 15 local make-up artists and Shanie had not only incredible rates but her work was exactly what I was looking for -- natural yet stunning. She's super communicative and put me at ease on my wedding day. read more

Shanie was such a pleasure to work with! She was incredibly organized from a vendor perspective which is always lovely to have when planning your vendors. Her pricing was super clear and she scheduled out the day perfectly so we weren't rushed to finish up any makeup right before we walked down the aisle. She understood my vision perfectly and executed it just like I had wanted! my trial was a perfect representation of how it looked on the big day and it gave such peace in mind! Highly recommend Shanie as she will make your skin look flawless and be a dream vendor to work with. read more

Shanie did my makeup for my wedding and she did a fabulous job!!! Not only was she so patient during our trial, striking the perfect balance between listening to what I wanted vs. letting me know that certain elements were suggested because of lighting, etc., but she also made herself available for a Facetime before the wedding to touch base. My mom and sister in law had never had their makeup done before and were nervous to hand someone else the reins, but Shanie took the time to listen to what they wanted and they both looked amazing and were so happy with their makeup!!! I would definitely hire Shanie again if I need my makeup done for a special event! read more

Shanie was the best! She made me feel comfortable in our prior talks before the big event for my daughter's wedding. She came prepared and asked all the important questions. Shanie had us all looking fabulous yet natural on that day. No doubt I will recommend her to my friends and to women of color without hesitation. She's a beautiful person inside and out and she is definitely in the right profession. Thank you Shanie Crosbie. read more

Shanie is an absolute gem! We were planning our wedding from 2,000 miles away and I needed someone that would listen to my needs and knock it out of the ball park without a trial. I reached out to several makeup artists in the Santa Barbara area but nobody came across as warm and personable as Shanie. If you feel like she's receptive of your needs and sweet via email, she's that way in person too. She was a great communicator, embraced my request for a natural look and made our entire bridal party feel at ease on the big day. Shanie made me feel confident and comfortable all day and I can't thank her enough for her talents and great energy throughout the entire planning process! read more

I'm a photographer and I work with makeup artists often. Though it's rare to come across, not only a talented artist like Shanie, but also the kindest person you could hope to work with in the industry. I first me Shanie a few months before my wedding! My fiancé was trying out some different looks she wanted for our wedding day. I was only along for the ride and moral support not expecting any attention whatsoever. Shanie started to make some recommendations for me and my bald head. She was very pleasant and encouraging! I ended up agreeing with Shanie's ideas and was completely satisfied with the results on our wedding day! Thanks Shanie! You're awesome! read more

Shanie is as talented in her craft as it gets! She did my make-up for my engagement photo shoot and my wedding and I was blown away by her ability to make me look and feel beautiful without feeling like I was "overly done". I wanted more dramatic lashes and she placed individual lashes which really made my eyes pop. The way she applied my makeup was very natural but photographed beautifully. And I can't say enough for her warm and engaging personality. She made me feel at ease and excited about getting ready for my special day(s). She showed up on time, even a touch early, to set up her station. She even brought a special height makeup chair to make sure I was in the right position comfortable for the application. All her products were clean and well cared for and she used clean and sterile techniques which I really appreciate. I highly recommend hiring her for your event. My husband could not stop looking at me the whole day. It was an amazing feeling. read more

Approaching the realm of maquillage after having abandoned it several years prior was intimidating, to say the least. After reviewing Shanie's lovely website, I reached out to her for a makeup lesson. She was quite helpful, kind, and understanding on our preliminary Zoom call, at which we scheduled an in-person session. During our session, I had much to learn and many questions, yet I felt comfortable with Shanie from the start. With her warm, welcoming spirit, she answered my questions and taught me many techniques for daily makeup application. Rather than using a "one size fits all" approach, Shanie suggested products and techniques according to what would best work with my skin type. I highly recommend Shanie - it would be difficult to find a more caring, perceptive makeup artist who can assist you in achieving whatever look you may desire. read more

I first saw Shanie's work at a friend's wedding.  It didn't take long for me to notice that the bride, and her wedding party, not only looked beautiful, but that Shanie enhanced everyone's individual beauty rather than applying a one-size-fits-all makeup formula.  She was meticulous in her application and knew how to make her subjects look great for photographs, yet look natural in daytime lighting. I went home that evening and looked at my drawer full of unused makeup that I had purchased over time and decided that a makeup lesson by someone who knew what they were doing, and wasn't loyal to one particular brand might be a wise investment. Booking Shanie for a personal makeup lesson was one of the wisest decisions I've  made.  My consultation exceeded my expectations.  She took time before the consultation to get to know what I needed help with and what products I had been using that worked for me, as well as what didn't work for me.  She also included skin care as an integral part of the consultation.  She helped me with color, skin tone, skin damage, application techniques, and day-to -evening looks. Within hours of the consultation she sent me an incredibly detailed follow-up to refer back to.  It included everything we talked about including links to products I showed interest in. My consultation with Shanie exceed my expectations.  I highly recommend Shanie for any event as well as a personal consultation.  The confidence I gained by knowing what products to use in the right way to bring out my natural beauty is priceless. read more

What can I say..Shanie was AMAZING!!!! She was the perfect person to do my makeup for my wedding in November. I was a little scared in trying to find someone to do my makeup in Santa Barbara for my big day, esp since I live in LA. As soon as I talked to Shanie she put me at ease. We discussed my lack of a makeup routine, basic foundation and mascara, and she was great at listening to what I did and didn't want. I was going for a more natural look, I didn't want to look completely made over for my wedding. I wanted to still look like me. She completely understood what I was saying. I knew she would make something beautiful and magical come together. On the day of the wedding, Shanie showed up early and was ready to start working quickly. She made me feel comfortable and at ease during the whole process. We discussed my vision, or lack there of; I let her do her thing. She walked me through every step of the process, even giving me tips along the way. The end result was perfection! I loved what she did and felt very natural and comfortable! The makeup lasted the entire day! I was very pleased with Shanie! She is a wonderful person with a great talent at making people feel beautiful!! I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a fantastic makeup artist! Thank you again Shanie!!! read more

Shanie and her partner Reilly are incredible! Shanie did my and all of my bridesmaids makeup for my wedding this past May. My mom looked so refreshed and 20 years younger. I felt that her make-up application was flawless and made me feel very confident with out feeling like I have make up caked on. Her products she uses are all top of the line and she is an awesome communicator. Reilly is just as talented with hair! I would recommend these talented ladies for any makeup or hair needs. Amazing. My makeup and hair person bailed 2 weeks before my wedding and luckily I found Shanie, and amazingly, she was available. She was so nice and helpful, and incredibly talented. We talked about what my normal makeup routine was (mascara) and my skin care regimen (washing my face in the morning) prior to my wedding day. On the day, she arrived promptly and we talked a bit more. She made me look beautiful and natural. I received so many compliments on my hair and makeup (Shanie referred me to an equally talented hairstylist, Carrie Reilly). I truly felt and looked my absolute best and Shanie and Carrie are largely responsible for that. I think it was actually a good thing that my original plan fell through. read more

I was attending my first "Black tie wedding" and wanted to look a lil extra nice. Shanie was SUCH a fun artist to work with for such an occasion. She is SUPER pro. She is prompt w/ response and seals the deal on the details pronto so you can dust your hands that logistics are settled. She showed up right on time, explained all the different steps she was doing to my face (which I thought was nice, kind of like a lil' tutor lesson) and was clean, personable, and a very charming gal! Not to mention, I was stoked on my makeup and I felt very confident for the event that evening. When you want to treat yourself to "pro" makeup, Shanie is such a refreshing & legit choice! I will be using her for all future SB glam needs :) (If you are doing fun party nights, I saw her Insta where she experiments w/ really cool eye shadow jobs - I aim to take part in those at some point down the road, too). read more

OMG. Simply the best. I don't typically wear makeup however, my son was getting married. I spoke with Shanie and she told me she was booked solid. However, on a moments notice she made time for me. I had the good fortune of hiring wonderful vendors for my wedding this past summer, and Shanie Crosbie topped that list! Leading up to the wedding every part of the planning process seems so large and overwhelming, yes all the planning does pay off when the big day finally arrives, but equally as important to every bride is feeling and looking your absolute best when it finally comes time to say I do. After many hours searching every wedding website, Yelp, etc., and lots of trial and error, I received a recommendation from my hairstylist and everything just fell perfectly into place. Shanie is a skin expert! She studies her brides, taking into consideration what type of makeup works best for your skin type, how to highlight your best features and all the things that I feel like another makeup artist would have overlooked. Her knowledge and skill translates into the most stunning makeup a bride could wish for. Shanie gave me the look that I dreamed of leading up to my wedding, and a look that stayed flawless until well into the morning! Shanie is the best! I was super nervous, showing up at the studio for a boudoir photo shoot, a completely spontaneous, not-like-me endeavor. Then I meet Shanie and her partner hairstylist Reilly. Shanie is an expert in every sense of the word. Her understanding of skin and makeup is deeper than any makeup artist I've met. I've had my makeup done many times throughout my life and disliked it nearly every time. What sets her a part is she actually listens to you - a trait surprisingly unique in makeup artists - eager to learn exactly what you are comfortable with and looking for. She arrived as a blank slate, then after careful observation of my features and skin, coupled with keen listening, worked her magic. Shortly after, I took a lesson with her which was incredibly useful and convenient too! I learned how to do my daily makeup to look natural and beautiful, as well as more dramatic for nights out. She came all the way up to my house in the mountains with her chair and all of her tools (she has everything you can dream of) and was an excellent instructor. On top of the talent, she has a very easy-going personality, and responded quickly to a number of clueless follow-up emails I sent her. Couldn't recommend Shanie more highly! read more
