We then booked a tow with a completely different company--Bee Towing in Irvine--and during that situation, we ended up calling the number on the tow truck to resolve a pricing dispute. The person who picked up? The exact same dispatcher from Brady Bros. He then claimed they have "multiple dispatchers" working across calls/companies, which raises serious questions about whether these are actually separate businesses or just the same operation under different names. Horrible service! We called for towing service and confirmed a 45-60 minute wait after the confirmed call we received a call back within 2 minutes that someone was being dispatched. We waited over an hour we called to follow back and were told that they cancelled our service! We never received a cancellation call and they decided to cancel because they realized they quoted us a wrong quote but didn't even bother asking us if we were ok with the new price before deciding to cancel! The service started out great, I called in for a vehicle lockout, was told a truck of theirs was a couple of blocks away finishing up a call and could be there momentarily. I inquired what the price would be and was told $100. The wait ended up being about an hour, which was fine, I was initially expecting to wait that long. A man arrived in an unmarked SUV and almost hit someone head on in the parking lot. When he greeted me he said the service would be $160 not the $100 quoted over the phone. When questioned about the price change he immediately got hostile and said "I'm here to work with you, do you want the service or not". He also told me that he was not affiliated with Barry Bros Towing and they sold him the call. When I called the number again it went directly to his cell phone and he continued to be hostile. He even called me back again 10 min later asking if I wanted him to come back out. Terrible experience, I would not recommend this company to anyone. The tow truck driver arrives at my house, hooks up my car in 5 minutes, and then tells me my total is $250. Of course, if I refuse and tell them to put my car down, I get charged a $120 cancellation fee. I have never been scammed like this by a tow company and still cannot believe this happened. They claimed that they can make it to me in 15 minutes and need my card info first. 30 minutes later i called them and they said they are 3.4 miles away. 15 minutes after they called me asking where i am ( i already provided very clear information at first call ), and i ask if they can't make it in about 10 minutes i would cancel. Tldr: Had been charged $134 for just a tire change. Asked for cancelation, which is $49 fee. Haven't been given the refund for that $134. If I don't get this refund and then charged 49 as per their procedure, I'm gonna have to say it's a scam. Overall, quite the rip off too. I called them, trusting the Google reviews, only to become angry at the company. The person on the line said that the price of the towing would depend on the DIFFICULTY of the situation. My situation was that my boyfriend and I's car had a flat tire. We weren't unable to change to the spare tire. So we wanted to get our car towed to the closest tire store, we also said that if he can change the tires, then he doesn't need to worry about towing. The price range the person said was apparently $84-$134. So we thought that changing a tire wouldn't be that difficult. She then says she'll call and send the towing guy to us. She then calls me back and guess what, she then says we're gonna charge $134 on your credit card. WHAT?! WHAT?! It must be that hard to change a tire We decided to cancel the service, which would be a 49 dollar cancelation fee. (Right? Expensive) We were fine with that. Better than 134. But NO. Few days later and we still haven't gotten a refund. We had to call the company saying we want the refund and they were saying "Oh let me speak with a higher up. They'll call you within this week." NO PHONE CALL AFTER THAT. We tried calling again and they said refund by next week. It's now been a week from that call. They hung up right after getting the details so I assumed they were on the way. I called back almost 30 minutes later and they said that a truck would not be available to dispatch for another hour. Biggest cheats ever. First they told me that the driver will be sent in 1 hour, they send the driver 2:30 later. They started to quote a price for $160 and after the towing was done, they charged me $320 and told me they will discount and give me $270. I have been asking for an invoice with complete break down and have called them multiple times. They are not providing the invoice and have turned to being rude now. They put my call either on hold or don't answer at all. I am going to either take legal action or going to go to consumer protection agency to take further action. Classic case of bait and switch... We called for a tow this evening. My wife was told it would be a 30 minute wait and was given a range of fees. She was told $55 for the tow and $45 - $80 for the hookup. This company called someone from their Anaheim office that was already on a call (I'm assuming) during rush hour to assist us in Lake Forest; because it took almost two hours for the truck to arrive. We called at the 1 hour mark and spoke to a supervisor by the name of Nick, he was completely apologetic and offered a discount. Somehow the math just did not add up at the end. The driver was nice and before releasing our vehicle to us he extended his version of the discount Nick approved $160!! down from the $225! it could have been (we were told). If you do the math from what we were originally told, at the most it should have been $135 (no discount). In the end my wife and I became very angry when it hit us that we had just been hustled. The nice driver was not so nice anymore and Nick would not come to the phone; so we settled on $140. There are still a lot of fair tow truck companies out there, that will quote you as fair and honest as possible; but in my opinion this is not one of them. read more

I was originally going to leave the first 5 star review for this company but after my experience, I've downgraded it to just 1 star. The other negative reviews are spot on. The phone operator for me was polite but made two huge errors. I was told that a tow truck was in my area and could show up within the next 20-30 minutes. The tow truck did not show up until nearly 90 minutes later. Also, I explained to the phone operator that my car was not able to be put into neutral. I asked how much the tow would be and was quoted $50. When the tow operator came by, he did the job reasonably quickly and when it came time for the bill, I was told it was $160. I was upset because this was substantially higher than the price I was quoted on the phone. He called his supervisor, who then spoke to me on the phone and explained that the $50 was just the dispatch fee and didn't include the towing or the extra cost/labor for moving my car since it was not able to be put into neutral. Really, it did not take that much extra effort for my car to be moved. All the guy had to do was put some pads underneath my two front tires and the car moved just as easily as if it was in neutral. The manager offered me a discount for $140. I was so frustrated that I just said yes. He really should train his phone operators to give the total estimate charges upfront so there aren't any surprises. After completing my talk with the manager, the tow operator told me there was a $10 transaction fee because I was using a credit card, which would bring my total to $150. He said the $140 price was for cash payment. There's no way credit card fees for $140 cost anywhere near $10. What a joke. Use this company's services at your own risk. Update: After my car was towed, the front wheel alignment was off and my car won't drive straight anymore. Now I have to take it to a service station to get repaired. read more
