It is unorthodox, and kind of an assembly line for braces. I can see how some may not like the concept, but I love it. My son's braces are just as good as elsewhere. The price is far lower than anyone else. All of the hygienists are professional and certified. Have to say appointments are a cinch as well. Much appreciation to all the staff here. Thank you to Dr Hudson. He's very personable and involved here every time. He's happy to answer any questions you have, and he also checks in with the patients too. I'd say give them at least a chance. You will save money, your son or daughter will have a relatively good time, and straight teeth due to the work here. Well done! read more

I wouldn't recommend this location to anyone. you always get a new assistant so you can't make a connection with the assistant because it's always a new one. I finish my plan. I lost my retainer and they charge me $650 for a retainer replacemen! this is outrageous so now I'm stuck with having my teeth shift because I will not give $650 for a retainer replacement! read more

I would give only 1 star based on how my treatment wrapped up and followed but I honestly do not feel one star because I appreciated the services I received PRIOR returning from the Pandemic. 5500 for my braces, half up front the other half in payments. Never had billing issues or treatment issues. My services were great and staff were very nice and personable. I never really had ANY issues.... Prior to the pandemic. Prior, I was just about done with treatment which sucked but Dr.Hudson did tell me my braces weren't going to probably close all of my gaps and I May need an Invisalign treatment. Came back from the pandemic, never heard nothing else of the further treatment and it was more difficult to schedule a close appointment, everything was rushed. On the day of my debonding, the staff member broke my tooth when taking off my braces. I heard it, I opened my eyes, She got quiet, didn't say anything and called Dr. Hudson over. He came, looked inside of my mouth and asked the clinician to see the brackets (I guess to figure out where part of my tooth went) and did some clicking on the computer and examined my mouth for a while. He says to me when I asked did my tooth break not knowing I had already took a picture of the bracket, "that's just a defective tooth". Not to mention I still had gaps in the back of my mouth. He wrote me a referral to get a fill in for my "defective tooth" and a "build up" which is more tooth added to my tooth to create an illusion of a closed gap My dentist fixed my broken tooth and agreed that the tooth most likely had broken during the debonding and agreed to help me out. The build up I did not get done due to costs. Also found out that it is likely that my filling may come out time to time because of the location and I would have to just come back and get it filled if it does. I was offered to BUY retainer for life post pandemic, lol I'm nowhere near back to financially stable as I was before and I asked since I paid 5500 for my braces and they now cost 3000, as a vet why couldn't I take advantage of the program without having to dish out almost 7k to Hudson ortho. Long story short the answer was no. I won't even get into when I got my first retainer fitted. The retainer did not fit and the woman forced it into my mouth and became NASTY toward me because I impulsively grabbed her hand from the pain. She knows that it took WAY too much effort to put that retainer in my mouth. The impression was off and she refused to rescan. My teeth were SO sore from putting that retainer in for about two weeks until I had no choice but to get rescanned for another one bc I had gotten my tooth fixed. Even with the whole "broken tooth" situation this visit was by far my worst. The woman who works in the finance dept or who handles billing is a GEM wish I remembered her name. I lost my retainer and she worked with me and my financial situation to get my replacement right away, same day right away. I can't say so much for the staff who answers the phone ready to say "no" or "we can't" to everything. The results were a Bigggg improvement from the beginning but still left unfinished and broken. I really didn't want to leave a negative review but after mentioning these things in the surveys, I felt that this was needed. DO NOT DO YOUR BRACES HERE! I get it you see the advertisements and such a great price for the area, but as a dental assistant myself, I DO NOT recommend. The only reason you see all these 5 star reviews is because they push you to post them in return for a "possible gift card". Yes the process was easy, yes the price is great, and the staff is always nice and pleasant. BUT, once a patient you will quickly see that you are MONEY. They are all about hitting their goals. They do not care about your concerns or needs. The assistant's literally do EVERYTHING. Dr. Hudson comes in for maybe 3 minutes if you are lucky. There isn't time for any questions or concerns. Dr. Hudson does not spend enough time with his patients to really even care about their treatment. I honestly feel bad for referring over my friends, but I know better now! I've had the same bracket pop off multiple times, as if they can't get it right! Not to mention, this has also happened with my friend I referred over. There is no sense of urgency. I could go on, but as someone in the field, I'd say as much as you spend for this treatment, go somewhere else!!! Somewhere worth your money and you aren't just a dollar sign!!! Several months ago I went in for a consult and I really felt like I was at a used car dealership. I always come with questions when it comes to my health. Yes, the price attracted me to this office but after an hour of unanswered questions, and fast talking u was back in a chair about to have before photos taken by the "assistants ". I had my first new patient appointment this week on Monday around 3 in the afternoon. I waited 30 minutes or so to be seen. After I was put in a section to do a consult with the doctor I still waited another 30 minutes to actually be seen by the doctor. By this time it was it was close to 4:30 so the young lady helping me said I wouldn't be able to start same day. She scheduled me for another appointment the following day which was I believe to sign the contract? I came in Tuesday and this time 10 minutes early and AGAIN waited over 45 minutes to be seen. Once I was seen the young lady that had helped me the day before brought me the contract incorrect TWICE. I was worried I wouldn't be able to get my braces due to it being close to the end of the day again. However once I was in the back I was grabbed quickly and was frankly very surprised due to my first already two bad experiences on time wise with the front. The assistant that grabbed me was very pleasant and efficient. She explained everything throughly. That is honestly the only reason I could give two stars at the moment. Both of my children started their orthodontic treatment with Dr. Bilodeau but finished with Dr. Hudson when he took over the practice upon Dr. B's retirement. The transition was very smooth and the care was consistent and seamless. We all love the changes Dr. Hudson has made to the office and treatment area. So up to date and welcoming. The reception staff is very friendly and helpful and so are all of the assistants in the back. The best part of the practice is that Dr. Hudson often comes to the waiting area and communicates directly with the parents about treatment progress. He's approachable and really values his clients. I have had a horrible experience at Dr.Hudson office. When I initially got my braces they gave me no instructions on what and what not to eat. Usually you should have visits every month not here you won't return for 8 to 9 weeks. Also, I relocated because of work and needed to transfer treatment Lynn assured me I would get my transfer paperwork within a couple days, it has now been over a month and still no transfer paperwork. Another Orthodontist won't even see you without it. Now I'm stuck with braces on me teeth with no dental care. I didn't listen to the reviews and gave this place a chance because of a promotion on Groupon, wish I hadn't!!! CHOOSE A BETTER ORTHODONTIST!!! read more

I had an EXCELLENT experience my very first time from the time I walked in the door until I left. Everyone from the front desk to the staff was curteous, polite, super friendly, personal & knowledgeable. The atmosphere had nothing but positive vibes, liveliness- still keeping the professionalism. If I could leave 0 stars I would, this office is completely unprofessional, they never explained the difference between their in office aligners and also Invisalign they assumed for me and only recommended the in house aligners. When I asked them why I was never given the option their response was price... not sure how they assumed I couldn't pay for the Invisalign. Second when I went in to put my second set of aligners in, low and behold it was someone else's teeth aligners, then I checked the rest of the bags and they all had different teeth that did not match my teeth at all as it was someone elses teeth aligners. I took off work and went to talk to someone and they told me the managers were not there, I was promised a call back, over a week went by and I had to reach out to them AGAIN to talk to someone about the mess in my mouth they created. The manager (his wife Sara) called me and when I told her I didn't trust them anymore and I wanted my money back and she said "that's fine" and ended it just at that. Then she went on to say they don't offer Invisalign and I was never told they did, I now have buttons in my teeth that I don't trust them to remove and they have wasted time. I have to now find another orthodontist to remove what they did in my mouth and also fix everything, I know as business owners they know time is money so when Sara stated that they are giving me my money back that does not fix the month and a half of wasted time they created on my end. I will also be making sure to let everyone I can know how unprofessional this office is. DO NOT GO HERE. DO NOT TAKE YOUR KIDS and be very careful as they specialize in attitude, dishonesty not orthodontics. ***Update*** So as much as I would love to say they treated me with any courtesy the following is what I received: I received a call shortly after my review was posted, Sara decided she was no longer giving me my money back, her first excuse was for the x-rays taken, which were covered by my insurance, then she explained it was really due to not liking the conversation we had. I then proceeded to speak to the front desk and she refused to talk to me again, the front desk said I could come in person, so I went in to speak with them only to be treated horribly. Fortunately, I have the voicemail and also recorded the whole office visit. Dr. Hudson went on to tell me this was his house and was furious at my review, he said if I signed a non disclosure agreement and not left the review I left he would have considered giving me my money back. They lied and are EXTREMELY unprofessional. Dr. Hudson kicked me out and told me never to come back as it was trespassing. I will now be posting the voicemail I received, the contract I signed that is a payment agreement not anything else. I will also post the video of the interaction with the office in the next few days if I do not get my money back. I know my rights as a client and this office has done nothing but feel entitled to steal from people. If they did it to me I can only imagine how many others they have scammed. I will reach out to each 1 star review at this point that they claim "they don't know or have in their system" to give them also an opportunity to speak more publicly about their experience with this office. Dr. Hudson I know you will see this since you have some free time on your hands, I hope your attitude serves you well in the long run, I also hope the money you refuse to refund me makes up for all the time you will be losing seeing the backlash of your actions with a client that actually knows the liability you as a company are responsible for. I am very disappointed in this practice. I had my appointment canceled...rescheduled...and canceled again without adequate notification. I find it absurd that you can schedule an appointment several weeks ahead, confirm and have it cancelled last minute. The practice called me the day of my appointment knowing I was an out of town patient (moving to the DC area wanting to start my treatment before I started my new job/left on vacation). For the circumstances I so clearly detailed, I wish I was notified a day prior or a week prior if this was going to be the case. I actually didnt even recieve any calls from them, I found out when walking in for my scheduled appointment. I just thought this was unprofessional. This place is wonderful! I came here to get my daughter braces. Everyone here seems nice and friendly. Even if I don't catch what they were explaining, they were patient and thoughtful. Plus it's pretty easy to get an appointment even though the place is crowded sometimes. It's also easy to check in, just by using the computer placed by the counter. There's Wi-Fi Connection, so you can use laptops when you're waiting! Overall, you can basically tell this is one place you can trust and be friendly. read more

How do you tell your CUSTOMER/PATIENT that she needs to RESCHEDULE an APPOINTMENT for different day after one their TECH did a POOR JOB , because Everyone is going to LUNCH. Their lunch was more important than the poor work they did in my mouth. I also paid for a year, so i shouldn't have any payment due until September 2018 yet they're sending bills in the mail, saying that I'm late on payment. How? They keep avoiding my calls and ignoring my emails because i requested for refund from June-september 2018. I will also be reporting your practice to BBB and the dentistry board. read more

UPDATE: And here we go again with this practice.... My eldest daughter (19 yo), who received the most gorgeous smile from Dr. Bilodeau, bent a wire on her retainer. I begrudgingly told her to go back to this practice to see if they could fix it. She went in, they told her they could not repair the retainer but would make a new one for her. They dutifully took a cast and as she was checking out they informed her she would be getting a plastic invisaline type retainer. She said no, she wanted one like she had with the bars as it can be adjusted to tightened up the tiny gap in her front teeth. They said no, she had to have the plastic one. She came home and told me the story so I got on the phone and asked to have the kind with the bars and the front desk staff said I had to talk to the office manager. So I left my name and number and waited. After two days and no call, I again reached out to the office manager only to be told the retainer had already been made. I asked if they could make a metal bar one off the cast as I had requested two days prior. She said no, they had destroyed the cast, but she did acknowledge she knew I had called and had been meaning to call me back. She said she wouldn't charge me and I could come back in and have a new cast made and they would make the metal bar retainer (won that battle!) but it would cost $300+. So, I told my daughter to go to the orthodontist that did my other daughter's teeth ("Yes, Braces" in Fairfax) for a second opinion. And though she is not a patient of Yes, Braces they booked her for an appointment. Long story short -- they were able to repair the retainer in less than 5 minutes. The Yes, Braces orthodontist tightened all the wires, adjusted it to my daughter's teeth, and now my daughter has a perfectly fitting retainer -- all for $75!! That's $225 less than what Dr. Hudson would have charged! (And with multiple appointments which is hard as she is in college.). I'm so tired of this practice wasting my time and money...... Please don't let the chic decor and energetic staff distract you from the ACTUAL CARE you will be receiving! Trust me, you ARE paying for the Wifi, coffee machine, and computer access with their pricing! read more

Very clean and friendly staff! I had my braces put on and taken off by Dr. John Biledou 6 years ago. I recently had to get a new retainer and the office was taken over by Dr. Hudson! I was nervous at first because I am particular about doctors/dentists/orthodontists etc. Him and his staff have been nothing but friendly and helpful when I visit. Due to my old retainer being metal and never having it tightened, a few teeth shifted slightly. I've been going in about once a moth to get a tighter retainer to shift my teeth back (kind of like Invisalign but not quite). My teeth look great and good as new all thanks to him and his staff! good god holy jesus, this is my first review on yelp and can we say impressed?!!! i was a previous patient of Dr. Bilodeau and needed to replace a bottom retainer that detached. i was so negative nancy walking into my appt but i am super happy now. Dr. Hudson and his staff are amazeballs, renovations are so savvy with coffee keurig & a slurpee machine! not to mention my awesome tech, Sara. i couldnt be happier about the service, staff and most importantly - very affordable! go go go :) read more

I went for a consult with here first in September and was able to snag an appointment to get my braces on the same day. My appointment was 10 am I was there more than two hours! I went home and about 15 minutes after two of my brackets had broke. I went back the same day after putting down a $1,000 deposit I had to sit in there for another hour only to go home and have yet another bracket brake! I was so irritated I had to wait until the next day to call the office. I didn't want to take more time off work so I asked if I'd be ok to wait until my next appointment to get it fixed I was told it was ok...huge mistake! I did notice my teeth starting to align all except the one tooth that the bracket had broken off. I went for second visit Jan4,2019 for a tightening I get home and guess what happens? Yes, you guessed another bracket broke it's Friday and the thing is tearing my lip up and there's nothing I can do because the office is closed read more

One of the 4 consultations I had with my two kids in the area and DEfinately the last one I would take my kids to. The staff is very young and inexperienced. The computer system was down and they could not find the X-rays my dentist sent. There was a long wait with not many clients in the office and the money part was a nightmare and too much of a hard sell. The one thing I can say good is the location. Very close to school for my daughter to walk to. I chose another office for my two kids and now I've started Invisalign too. read more

worst place of business ever ! the billing department is so screwed up . i've been through 4 different people in charge of the department in the last 6 months of me being a patient . the will not take your payments on time and will screw your bank account over . i have been having a problem with the payments since i started and to be honest i should have read their reviews before i gave them my money . i told them i no longer needed their services and they proceeded to hit my account for another 3 months worth of payments . do not and i repeat do not mess with dr hudson and his practice . they are bad for business read more

I do not recommend this doctor. If you have to go to this doctor just like us (my son's previous doctor McDonough retired and sold the business to this doctor), double check your billing and make sure you are not over-charged. It will be very hard to get your refund back. This office continued to draft monthly payment from our bank account after we had paid off our portion. When we called the office, they immediately stopped. We asked them to return the overcharge. They first agreed, but later told us the doctor asked them to hold on the refund check because our insurance hasn't paid off its portion, which is on a quarterly payment schedule.. After the insurance paid off it's portion, which was about 9 months after the overcharge, we followed up with the office many times, and was either put on hold or when we got someone on the phone, was told the billing staff was busy. When we asked to speak to the doctor, they said no. We ran out of options and had to file a complaint with the Virginia Department of Health Professions (www.dhp.virginia.gov). We got our refund check from this office within a week! There was no explanation at all why it took them almost a year to send us the refund check. We know that had we not contacted the Department of Health Professions, we wouldn't have got our refund check. Very bad customer service and very unprofessional practice. read more
