Bad customer service
Est D.

Stay away! I had a concern with the pump and a price change. The man behind the counter, Panom, he was extremely rude and told me to go outside to look at the price and took other customers pushing my concerns to the side. I have never experienced such a awful and dismissive customer service, he was shouting at one point. I asked for a supervisor and he said he was the supervisor and I asked for another person above him to help and he said "no one above me". He never refunded me my money and told me I pay whats on the reciept. I used 87 from 2.49 to 1.69 but somewhere during pumping it switched and changed to 2.49 or switched to a higher grade. He refused to help resolve the problem and not help me. I only use 87 on all my cars. I left feeling awful. This is not how you do business. Based on previous reviews, its had pump and customer service issues. Even if I am a block away, I would rather run out of gas on a rainy night and wait for AAA than go there and experience this level of service.

Maple Lawn is clean and offers every food choice you could imagine. Yummy? Yes! And, Lottery tickets, too!

Not sure how there are any negatives about this locale. Friendly, helpful staff, great tasting food and lottery tickets. Yum! Salad bar is fresh and monitored through out the day. No leftovers here. Sandwiches and daily specials always made fresh to order. Full beverage selection from Coconut water to Monster. Sandwiches from the usual to Asian offerings - sushi-esque offerings at the salad bar as well. Newspapers, sundries, lottery tickets, free WiFi. Too bad it's a 10 mile drive for me, but I go out of my way to make it. "Must stop".

Ugly.

Not open at 0500 as advertised. Gas is expensive enough. Not to mention wasting time coming here. Adjust your hours!

You had time, she said. Then she said we can't just give car wash away. How are you giving away something that I paid $11 for and had a receipt for? I tried to ask her name or to speak to another manager, the store number anything I could use to follow up. She refused and told me I had to get out of the store!!!! This female cashier stated she was the manager but had zero customer service or management skills. It and was the worst customer service experience I've ever had. Her responses to my questions were super rude, condescending, belligerent and unprofessional to say the least. She told me in a disinterested tone that I could complain on line so I am. It had been such a beautiful Friday. Gorgeous, sunny, 80 degrees, and I had a code to get my car washed. The cashier spoke to me with such disdain and disrspect I was completely caught off guard as I have patronized this ExxonMobil station for gas, sundries and regular car washes for my both of my vehicles for almost 10 years. They lost a loyal customer today. I will never patronize again. No wonder their Yelp reviews are in the trash as the customer service I received today was complete garbage, with a hint of racial undertone. Since she would not provide a name I will update my review with a pic next tone so you know exactly who to avoid at this location!

Downfall, they only accept cash here and you have to manually go up to the counter to pay ahead of time to your designated pump, not knowing how much you really need to fill up your car. There was already a long line waiting to pay (all cash gas pumps, so there's almost always a wait to gas up). But tonight, several of us shivered in line while a frantic clerk (who had already closed before the posted 9 PM closing time), talked on a phone. Finally, 10-15 minutes later she told the first person in line their computer had locked up, and no one was answering her phone calls. So, your system has a single point of failure, and the people entrusted to keep it running can't be bothered to answer a call for help. I estimate they lost over $100 just while I was waiting. I wonder how much they'll end up losing just tonight. They aren't the only gas station on their block and while the other one is 10 cents more per gallon, they take credit cards and their pumps actually work. Avoid this place.

It's a little precarious trying to get in and out of this gas station/convenience store at the intersection of Lime Kiln Road and Scaggsville Road, so just be extra careful when making the turn. Although this is in the lot right before (or after, depending on which direction you're coming from) the Ledo Pizza, Fulton Wine & Spirits, and the Fulton Post Office, the two lots are connected, so you can get from one to the other from a connecting driveway in the back if you make the wrong turn. Surprisingly this road has much more traffic than you'd expect for a middle-of-nowhere gas station! The convenience store is clean and signs adequately indicate that masks are required and social distancing must be maintained. The floor has taped lines to indicate where to stand and directional arrows to direct the flow of traffic. All employees were wearing masks, in case you're wondering.

River Hill Sunoco got my car running better than it has in over a year, and I finally feel safe on the road again. They treated me with respect and patiently listened to the list of issues I was experiencing. They quickly diagnosed the issue, fully explained it to me, and completed the repair within a couple of hours. I can't say enough about how great my experience was!

Late one night, my girlfriend got a flat tire. As I have done dozens, if not hundreds, of times in my life, I removed the old wheel/tire and put on the spare using nothing more than a scissors jack and lug wrench. As I replaced the lug nuts, I threaded them and tightened by hand before using the lug wrench for one last fastening. As it turned out, there was a hole in the sidewall of the old tire, so Sunoco ordered a new tire that was expected to arrive in a few days. In order for us to commute to Baltimore on the spare, "John" the technician tightened up the lug nuts. "John" did so with an air impact wrench (also known as an air hammer, pneumatic impact wrench, etc). A few days later, we took the car back for Sunoco to install the new tire. This time, the Sunoco technician had difficulty removing one of the lug nuts, and one of the studs snapped. After replacing the tire, Sunoco capped the broken stud and offered to replace it at a cost of approximately $100. Through an apparent miscommunication, Sunoco never ordered the new stud, so we took the car elsewhere for repair. At the other garage, my mechanic had to use a breaker bar to remove two of the lug nuts because Sunoco had over-tightened them (see attached photo showing metal shavings from the other over-tightened lug nuts next to the broken stud). Due to the numerous damaged studs, we replaced the entire wheel hub assembly. Naturally, this cost more and caused major inconvenience as the car could not be driven for several days. An objective analysis of the facts leads inescapably to the conclusion that Sunoco over-tightened the lug nuts, causing the catastrophic failure (breaking) of one stud and the effective destruction of two others. When the first stud snapped, Sunoco did not mention any issue with any of the other lugs or studs. The vehicle was entirely within the control of Sunoco, and it was Sunoco that once again tightened the lugs after they replaced the tire. The thing speaks for itself: only Sunoco could have caused the damage to the second and third studs, and the circumstances strongly suggest Sunoco's fault for the first. Through its manager, Adam, Sunoco has enumerated several excuses to absolve itself. First, Sunoco alleged that I "cross-threaded" the lug nuts when I put on the spare. I reiterate that I hand-tightened the lug nuts, and this excuse does not account for the destruction of the second and third studs, which happened after Sunoco replaced the tire. When confronted with the issue of the additional lug nuts' destruction, Sunoco then blamed me for not making the lug nuts tight enough after the tire change and alleged the wheel was "like a loose tooth" when it arrived at Sunoco (which, of course, undercuts its "cross-threaded" theory). Admittedly, I did not have a torque wrench, but to think the lug nuts had come loose on the short drive to Sunoco strains credulity. If it were true, why then did Sunoco not note damage to the other studs at that point? Oddly, Adam denied knowledge of any technician named "John" employed at Sunoco, though he admitted a technician with a similar sounding name does work there (other social media posts about the River Hill Sunoco, e.g. Anglie's List, mention an employee named "John."). Just so there is no confusion, "John" is the technician who has family in the south of France, though I'm sure Adam knew exactly who I was referencing.

However, the 2nd W is from 7/4/25 as a recent experience, I want to review too. Been to this Wawa several times since living in Russett the past 5 years. I used to go to Wawa at a former company I was with in Halethorpe as it was super close to my office, and the sandwiches were delicious. Like Halethorpe, the sandwiches called "Hoagies" are delicious. You order on the screen and can customize your hoagie how you want and add whatever other items. I've gone in there for just a customized iced coffee drink, which are delicious too, with seasonal flavors like peppermint & pumpkin spice. As I'm writing this review in July, I could really go for some Christmas in July with peppermint! Staff is relatively efficient & cordial. There's been a couple of times it took a while, but that was more that I was going at a peak time. My girlfriend & I went here one time on Saturday, August 3, 2024 before a movie. We both enjoyed our sandwiches. My biggest issue with Wawa is that there is no seating, and that's what makes me often not choose Wawa. We didn't mind the heat wave and were willing to eat outside, but there's no comfortable area to sit on the ground. So, we dealt with eating in the car like animals potentially making a mess in the car (at least with the AC running, but wasting gas). In spite of a couple of negatives, overall a positive experience and will return as it's sometimes a convenient & delicious option.
