NOW IF you crave that Chicago Dog, Italian Beef, Tamale Boat, Green River, Polish or any other old school "cart food" STOP IN! Look they all are the same... this place is all about who's behind the counter.... Here, there are NO grouchy fools AND they have no problem giving the fools GRIEF who ask for ketchup on a Chicago Dog! Being in here at least once every other week it is a fun floor show to watch when you bring a Texan in who orders that... Again... I went in to the Court St location today asked for a polish. I observed the manager cleaning using chemical products before she went for a glove. Didn't wash her hands. Proceeds to put my bin on the counter I asked her can she get me a new bun as it was on the counter. Please place the bun in the wrapper before you set it on the counter. She got mad and said her counter was clean as I'm looking at black specks on the stainless steel surface. She gets flustered and tells me to get out and don't eat here anymore. After mind you I conplained about the the store in Bradley on 50 doing the same thing. This place sure has gone down hill. I eat there twice every week. I won't be eating there anymore. If I could give this place NO stars I would! I went picked up some Chicago style dogs and the tomato were so soggy and smelled horrible! I order nachos and they were so stale that I couldn't even chew them! I literally had to throw everything away! I tried calling this business so we could figure something out and bring the food back but they did not answer and I went up there and they were already closed! I will never go here again! read more

Quality within the last couple of months has plummeted. The chili and nacho cheese seems to be different, doesn't taste good anymore and the Italian beef was just shredded and not very good. I think it's time to rethink where to eat this kind of food until they go back to normal, especially for the price they are charging. $13 for a beef and nachos. read more

I love the cheap Oscar Meyer type hotdogs from time to time. Gotta grab a bag of chips and a green river everytime too. 2 stars because the price you pay for the quality and quantity of the food just is not worth it at all. Family of 4 was almost $40 to eat. That was for some hotdogs, beef sandwich, chips, and drinks for everyone. I'll be sticking to my once a year visit to get my fix. read more

Don't talk about the food because I didn't actually eat. They prepare my Italian beef on some very very white roll not the normal Gonella roll which is used throughout Illinois for Italian beef. After preparing my food I handed my credit card over to pay and ask for the bathroom to wash my hands. I was told there's no public bathroom so I told them cancel my order and my credit card and I'm getting out of here. Maybe I'll try them again if they ever get a bathroom. So now I'm at poor boys down the street which has a bathroom and an excellent Italian beef sandwich. read more

I used to love this place when I was a teenager before I graduated highschool and left for the military. So when I make the rare visit back to Kankakee, I like to drop by and get an Italian combo. In the 25 years since then, the quality in products has taken a considerable nose dive. The bread What the hell kind of alien white, unbaked bread are you using? The second any moisture hits the roll, it gets soggy and turns to mush. The Beef Mmmmmmm, chewey gristle, my least favorite texture. While the flavor is on point, the fat and gristle combined with the hard to chew factor was just too much. The Sausage The Italian sausage wasn't bad, a little mediocre but had a good bite to it. The Service The woman working here seems to be the only employee they have since she was the same one working here when I came two years ago. Her customer service skills were memorible as they were not very good and the impression I got is that we were inconveniencing her for us being there! No "Welcome" or "hello" or "How may I help you?" Just a blank emotionless stare. As my wife was trying to figure out what she wanted, she never offered "Any questions?", No, she just stood there with a silent, blank expression, waiting/or hopping, for us to probably become fed up and leave! We started going to Boz on Court St because of the rude service and declining taste in food over on River St. The Mozzarella sandwiches are really good if you catch them on a good day. I'm not sure if they change the brand of meat they use every so often or what but the last time we went which was about 2 weeks ago the sandwich was lacking in taste and again short on the normal size serving that you would expect from Boz. The Taco Salad is fantastic....again depending on who is waiting on you. This time around the taco salad was about 1/2 of what is normally given. Hopefully the picture I took you will be able to decide for yourself. The staff during the evening hours are very friendly for the most part but mid afternoon your lucky to see a smile on anyone's face. You almost feel like...... no you do feel like your an inconvenience for them to take and make your order. I doubt we will be returning to any of the Bozs around here. Service is not reliable nor is the food. I don't understand why someone would change the quality of the food if you have a good thing going. Most people will pay the extra cost to know that they will continue to get great food. We've talked with many people who feel the same way about Boz and the quality of the food. read more

I went from a 5 star customer to a 2 star rating based off of how I was treated today. I've been a loyal customer to Boz since we moved to the area almost a year ago, I've always enjoyed the idea of free refills on the super size drink though I rarely refill my drink and just buy a new one instead. Today I went to get lunch and was told I can't get a refill cause it's for dine in customers only. Pretty lousy service considering we eat your food 2-3 times a week. From now on we will just grab Poor Boy, it's only a few doors down and the owner demands quality and consistency from his employees. read more

The only item worth getting here is an Italian beef. The problem is the italian beefs are inconsistant. When it's good it's good, but most of the time it's tough and chewy. The hot dogs are the store bought vienna beef, not the good ones with a casing. read more

Someone told me about this place, so I wanted to stop in during Bears Training Camp. This place is the most horrible tasting beef I have ever had. I'm from Chicago and I go to places like Portillo's, Johnnies in Elmwood Park, and Mr. Beef. Boz Hot Dogs beef made me almost throw up. What kind of Bread are they using? Is it even baked? It was so white, soft and soggy I thought I was eating unbaked bread. When you serve beef on bread, first of all the Beef should have good flavor and the bread should be nice and toasty and fresh out of the oven. This place for some reason just doesn't give you that. I will never be coming back to this place. If you want a real Italian Beef, stick to Chicago and the surrounding neighborhoods. Chicago knows their Italian Beef. Seems like the people at Boz have no clue when it comes to a Beef Sandwich. read more
