When my French toast arrived, at first, I thought the waitress had brought the plate to the wrong table, because I did not really recognize the food on my plate as French toast. Well, when questioned, the waitress admitted that the plate she brought to my table was in fact the order I had placed. So, I settled in and began to eat the food on my plate. It resembled in some ways French toast, I suppose. But, in critical ways, related to texture and taste what I tried to eat was not French toast. Rather, it was somebody's idea of a concoction that built upon the concept of French toast. Perhaps that was a good artistic idea, but it did not satisfy my need for French toast.
