Great buying experience! We bought our 2017 Yamaha 212X in March this year and dealt with Travis in the sales department. Everything went smoothly and Travis was very knowledgeable and friendly. We will definitely be returning there when we upgrade to a 24 foot boat. Now the best part: We towed our boat from Chattanooga, TN to Panama City Beach, Fl with my family. First day out on the boat went perfectly. We moored the boat in the slip for the night and there was a storm. Next day we went out and started having electrical issues which became worse through the day. Our screen went away so we had no fuel, depth info, etc. The only thing that worked was the engines. I called the Yamaha dealer in PCB for assistance and they didn't want to help at all. I called the dealer in Chattanooga who actually serviced the boat and they were of no help either. The service guy there didn't even know what the screen was called. I then called Chris Hatcher at Boyd's Marine in Dothan which was where we bought the boat. He stayed on the phone with me while I ran some tests, staying later than his quitting time. We couldn't fix the problem whilst there in FL but it didn't spoil the fun we had. Chris still worked behind the scenes trying to resolve our issues and was in constant contact with me for reviews on what I had done with regards to testing. He even offered to mail me a new screen that was probably worth over $1000 and have me change it and send the old one back. Trust that you don't hear about that often these days. He was in contact with Yamaha engineers and offered a fix that restored the screen to factory default and said that if it didn't work he would mail a new one. The fix did work and the way that Chris went above and beyond my expectations to make sure I was happy was amazing. I can't say enough about how pleased I am with the way he handled our situation. I wish we lived closer to that dealer but I know that if I do have any issues they will always go out of their way to resolve them. Great experience! read more

Went shopping for a new boat at the end of 2021. Not really intending to buy new, I told my wife to be prepared for sticker shock. Instead, I was. They were about what I imagined but the boats we looked at were very impressive. After learning about construction and a little discussion between us we decided (without outside pressure) which one we wanted. The sales department checked us for any added equipment we might want and then prepared the boat for delivery in what I describe as record time. I towed it back home and put it in the water two days after purchase. Now we are just waiting on the weather to get back to fishing. Most likely will take it back there for a check before getting into serious hours on the lake for any possible problems that it may have although I have noticed none. It has been broken in by recommendations in the book and (so far) has very few hours of continual open water running. Great place to buy from in my opinion! read more

Julian Boyd is very involved and up to date with his business. He is a very approachable and honest man. He is always available to help in any way possible. I purchased my first boat from Julian back in the 80's and have been doing business with him on and off ever since. I have done business at other dealerships but none have the down home feeling that Boyd's has. I also believe that Service and parts are second to none.
