My phone is a 2019, I broke the screen and went in to Box tronics and they of course had to order the screen. (I figured any place would for a phone that is 7yrs old) It came in and was quick and easy to replace. That night I realized my phone wouldn't take a charge. I brought it back to them they worked there magic and got it functioning like new again. Great customer service. Being without a device we sadly relay probably to much on these days was very stressful and they went above and beyond to get me going again!!! read more

really terrible communication with the customer. i Dropped two phones for some tricky data transfer and was told they would call when they determined if the transfer was possible. They confused the passcodes so they were unable to even start and yet they didn't bother to contact me for clarification. No call for 5 hrs. I called to check on the progress and was able to give them the code (again). Next day...no call. I called at 1:30 and was told it would be ready in 1 hr, maximum 2 hrs. .... 3 hrs later, no call and approaching closing time ...I go there. They had done nothing because they didn't have the iCloud pssscode.......again, no effort to contact me for that information. I took my phones and left. 2 DAYS wasted. Not sure if they can competently repair phones...... they don't competently run their business . read more

They saved my phone. The lightning port stopped working. The authorized Apple repair in town would not even look at it because the back of the phone had a crack from me sitting on it and I did not have active Apple Care on this iPhone 13 Pro Max. The problem was that a piece of the end of a charging cable had broken off blocking the port. In less than 30 minutes the friendly experts at Duluth Boxtronics had me up and running, leaving me very relieved with a happy face and only a very small dent in my wallet. Apple suggested the best alternative would be to upgrade and junk this phone. Based on my track record this will not be my last trip to Boxtronics. read more

Went in for a battery replacement and was told that I would be on the hook for any damage caused by them to replace it. What an absolutely ridiculous policy to have. So an 80 dollar battery would end up costing 220 for the battery and screen that they may or not break in the replacement process. Might as well just take that 220 and put it towards a new phone. If you're not confident in doing what you're (over)charging people for then maybe you shouldn't be in business. Never will do business here, I would rather send my phone off somewhere else that takes care of its customers. read more

Brought my phone in with a horribly smashed screen and they had it fixed in the time it took me to read a magazine over a cup of coffee at Barnes & Noble down the street. Also they were friendly and the price was exactly what they quoted me over the phone. I went in to have my shattered phone screen repaired. The service was okay, but the quality of the repair and the price was a major disappointment. I should've searched more repair places before I came here. To fix my screen, the cost was $140 which, after research, was miles more expensive than competing phone repair shops around the area. Not only that, but the screen still glitches and is having even more issues now than it did when it was shattered. I will never return to this awful company again and if you want to save money and get quality repair services, DO NOT COME HERE. Very disappointed. read more

Replaced a screen on my phone. Said it was warrantied for 30 days. Within a week the screen came loose. I brought it elsewhere and the repair person said it came loose because they never put the screen bracket in there. Also the ear mesh piece was not put back. I called and asked for a refund or some resolve and they said I was out of luck. Very sketchy repair and terrible customer service. Will not go back. read more

Unacceptable service. I brought a tablet in for repair on a Saturday and they said it should be ready to go the following Wednesday or Thursday. Great! I hear nothing so I decide to stop by after work the following Saturday. I'm told they needed to order a new screen and that it would be ready the following Wednesday or Thursday. Again, I hear nothing and decide to stop by after work the following Saturday. Same thing, they need to order a new screen and it should be ready the following Wednesday or Thursday - this time they said they would call. Two weeks go by and they finally call to tell me it has been 30 days and than that was the last day to pick up my tablet. I asked if it had been fixed and the girl on the phone had to go check. Nope, it never got fixed, but I had to pick it up today. I waited a month, they never bothered to tell me what was going on, just that I HAD to pick up my still broken tablet because it had been 30 days. When I dropped it off initially the screen had a slight crack near the bottom. I picked it up and it looked like it was just thrown on the floor and stomped. Had a terribly smashed screen Went to another repair place up the road and they wanted to charge me $20 more than Box Tronics. Also - it was 25 minutes before close and they said they couldn't get it done before closing. 15 minutes later I went to Box Tronics and although the owner said he was out of stock of the screen I need, he told me if he had one in he would have stayed after closing to fix it. Great customer service! I got a call the next day that the screen was in. Dropped it off and returned 20 minutes later - all fixed. I also should mention - the owner gave me a great tip: When you screen is all shattered, cover it with packing tape. You'll still be able to use it and won't cut your fingers swiping! Make sure you leave open (or cut open) the speaker and microphone though! read more

I asked them to replace the battery on my Ipod (an older version with the click wheel). It had a dead battery and would only operate when it was plugged in. It had been this way for several years. When I took it to BoxTronics, they replaced the battery, but somehow managed to bend the the edge of the Ipod case when putting it back together (what?). While this bothered me and shouldn't have happened, I overlooked it because my primary goal was to have the battery replaced with one that would hold a charge. As a 10-year-old Ipod, it wasn't going to win any beauty contests, anyway (though I'll say this again - it really shouldn't happen when you pay over $50 to have the device "professionally" worked on). Problem is, I don't believe they actually replaced anything at all. Only six months after I had the battery replaced, it was back to draining down to zero power almost as soon as it was taken off the charger. And I HAD NOT EVEN USED IT since picking it up from BoxTronics (I keep much of my music on my phone and only use this particular Ipod sporadically, so it had sat in my desk, turned off). I just broke it out today to update the software and it's still essentially a paperweight unless it's plugged in, almost 2 years after Box Tronics (supposedly) put a new battery in it. Of course, since I never noticed the issue until so much time had passed, with the receipt long gone, about all that's left is an honest review of what I received for my money - i.e. nothing. That said, though...after the case had been bent, I wasn't all that keen on having them open it up again, anyway. They're very nice and seem to mean well, but I think they have more work than they can really get to. Reading another review from a person whose device sat there for a month with no one working on it has led me to this conclusion, not to mention the fact that there never seemed to be any adult supervision in the store - just teenagers working there. Perhaps the person who incorporated the store/founded the business should spend more time there. read more
