Gary’s Pizza - Make your own pizza. Deep dish, pepperoni, bacon bits and extra sauce. Best pizza ever!

Mike was the best with recommendations and absolutely took care of us!! Southwest egg rolls were unexpected menu item and we will definitely order again. We created our own deep dish pizza with pepperoni, bacon bits and extra sauce and it is by far the best pizza we have had! We have decided next time we are craving pizza, we will make the drive all the way from Memphis just to have it here at Gary's. That's saying something! Can't wait to try the calzone and pasta too! Thanks for such a great experience and awesome food! Valerie & Gary (the OTHER Gary. )

During lunchtime, this old-school pizza joint has a phenomenal special. From a list of around…read moreseven or so food items to choose from, you can get one food choice plus a drink for only $10.99 (plus tax). I opted for the calzone and unsweetened iced tea. My ham, bacon, and cheddar calzone was massive and delicious. (They offer three different flavors of calzones.) The iced tea was extraordinarily refreshing on this hot and humid day. The dining area was probably about 60% filled at 12:30 p.m. with lunch patrons. I didn't hear anyone complaining. The thing is, Osceola has a deficit of good dining choices. I take my victories where I can. There's nothing outstanding about the service, as a few of the waitresses acted as if they'd have rather been anywhere else but helping customers at a restaurant. The interior is decorated okay, and the kitschy wall hangings at least break up the monotony. The men's restroom was surprisingly well-kept, and atypically had zero malodor to it. If in the area, I would return again, if only because there really isn't a variety of choices in this area.

Gary’s Pizza - Southwest egg rolls were full of flavor and cooked perfect! Highly recommend. Two were already eaten before the photo was taken.

I started with the mimoosa flight. The flavors weren't labeled, but I believe the strawberry and…read moreapple were my favorite. I ordered a medium rare ribeye, which was slightly overcooked but still a very good cut of meat. I did not care for the coleslaw or the gouda macaroni and cheese. The meal was served with toast. The chocolate pecan pie with ice cream was good. I arrived at 6:30 and was given a glass of water that a drank immediately because i was thirsty. Any establishment that must function understaffed should be like Nashville clubs and set out a jug of water so people can refill their cups on their own. They took my drink order at 7. There were no empty seats at the bar so I sat alone at a table. The experience was OK but they need at least one more server. The only reason they get by with charging over fifty dollars for the steak is because there's literally no other place within 40 miles you can get a good steak. The sides are below average. The servers are friendly but obviously overworked. The bathroom was clean and there was plenty of parking.

The restaurant portion of the building was almost empty, and I was seated almost immediately, but I was placed at a table in a high traffic area next to the kitchen. After a while, I flagged down an employee since it was unclear to me who my server was. I put in an appetizer order of their heavenly eggs. They included a wonderfully tart sauce, and the serving size was three eggs. The mushroom gnocchi that I had was delicious, and enough to feed two people. The potato dumplings were expertly made, and some of the best that I've ever eaten. Other than the service being a bit hit and miss, I would return if only for the excellent food.

Salads are large, creative, and tasty. So are the desserts--everyone wanted the pecan cobbler. Almond tea was another huge hit. . Haven't been here in years so decided to stop in. 2 large groups had just been seated and finished ordering when I sat down. Service was OK despite the big groups. Glad my small order got in before there's as I had finished eating when they bought the last plate to one of them. Food however, meh, just so so. I believe their sandwich plates are better than their meats & 2. The country ham was very good, tender and flavorful. The cornbread was not as they gave me a roll, guess they didn't have cornbread. The peas, well, canned, and on a large leaf of lettuce? The greens, canned. If you're going to advertise a hot lunch special, and it's limited to only 1 meat and specific veggies, seems like you would cook them as homemade vs straight from the can. The guy playing the piano at lunch was nice. Definitely a 'fu fu' place.

An Oasis in the Arkansas Countryside…read more I was in the Osceola area for business meetings and was tasked by one of my colleagues to cater a lunch for 10 people. I was directed to the Hog Pen as the closest place to get food for a group. I must have driven past the non-descript building a million times and never even noticed it. The Hog Pen is a local mecca for barbecue in the area. When I arrived, I was lucky to have just beaten the lunch rush and the kind staff helped me put together a lunch for twelve people. My order had pulled pork, dry-rubbed ribs, smoked chicken, baked beans, coleslaw, and peach cobbler. The staff also provided me with buns, cutlery, napkins, sauces and everything else needed for a catered lunch. The food was exceptional, as I have had Barbecue from all over the US and can make a qualified statement about the flavour and quality. The chicken and ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender and had an excellent smokiness. The rub was not overpowering and the flavour was mild with just a little touch of heat. The Pulling pork was soft and smoky and went well with the sauce provided by the Hog Pen team. In the end, there was not one scrap of food left as every morsel of food was eaten by the Big River Steel team whom I had brought the lunch for. I had tried a little of each of the items in the order and was pleasantly surprised. On my way back to my hotel, I stopped at the Hog Pen and bought a pulled pork sandwich for my drive.
