First off, even finding it is a little odd- the "entrance" is in the back of the building and not at all obvious like most hotel entrances are. There's also hardly any on site parking. It's a small lot that cost like $20 and isn't even guaranteed you get a spot. Otherwise, you have to park in the parking garage that's kiddie-corner to the hotel and walk all the way over. It's inconvenient, for sure. The hotel itself is pretty clean and what you should expect from a Hilton. Except it's super loud since you're downtown and near a lot of bars and other things. I'd recommend trying to get a room on the 4th or 5th floor, as my 5th floor room seemed to be a little more away from all the raucous. It's known to be so loud there that they leave ear plugs in each room instead of trying to actually do something to solve the issue. Yikes. They're also weird about late checkout and other options- you can move checkout like an hour later but anything past that they charge you. And there's no breakfast. I swear they literally try to charge you for anything they can- parking, checkout, breakfast etc. I just really was not impressed with the whole experience here and only stayed because it's the main hotel in downtown Ocala right now. The one upside I could see is that since it is in downtown it's in walking proximity to a lot of restaurants and some shopping, but that's about it.

We were not thrilled with parking across the street in a structure either. It isn't pleasant to drag your luggage back to the hotel after checking in. Especially after paying to park. The room and hotel were nice otherwise. Very clean. Centrally located outside the town square, it was fantastic to be here in Xmas to see the lights and decorations! An added bonus is that we could walk to dinner from the hotel and not move the car. The staff was very friendly, cheerful, and helpful. Would stay here again, but I really do nit like the parking situation.

Two people in my party literally passed out from the 95 degree sun while waiting in line. My sister and her husband were turned away because the venue sold more tickets than seats. When we finally got into the venue that started 3.5 hours after the time on the tickets, we were so disappointed. We have been to several rodeos in the past, and this was not a rodeo. They played hootchee music and had kids doing vulgar dances which has nothing to do with a rodeo. We as well as almost half the people at the so called rodeo left before halftime started. We would love to get our money back, but when you complained they said no refunds. This was to be most people first rodeo. How disappointing.

I was last to arrive and the kids at the desk were not present and then when they finally showed up, they were short & rude. Any time I glanced over while I was playing, no one was at the desk. It was busy while we were there but it became busier as the afternoon turned to evening. While we were playing, we experienced issues with the lane several times. Sometimes help arrived quickly, where other times we waited for a good 20 minutes. After we finished bowling, some of us stayed to go to the bar and play pool. The drinks were very expensive and you had to pay to play pool, which was super overpriced. All in all, I would like to explore other bowling alleys in Ocala but I think most places replicate a Chucky Cheese kinda establishment.

My mother did say she stepped on a roach in the bathroom. This along with the other things did slightly annoy me but not enough to want to change rooms. The beds were clean, the tv and outlets worked, and it was quiet so we made due. I will say that I liked that they use Dove products in the bathroom. Breakfast both Saturday and Sunday were good, no complaints. They offered scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, seasoned potatoes, oatmeal, juice, tea, coffee, milk, cereal, pancakes from the pancake machine, bagels, toast, muffins, and cinnamon rolls. I believe Saturday they had ham or bacon and Sunday they had turkey sausage or pork sausage. Checkout was very easy and I did it through the app. For what it was, it was an ok stay.

I was able to find one near the garage.It looked to be free parking, so that's always good. I did not know whether the garage cost extra, but I did see some parking areas that had a cost. I saw the main square with the gazebo, and looks like there were people hanging over there. There are lots of horse statues with artwork painted, and signs displaying the descriptions. And since they were artwork, there was definitely no mounting on the sculpture allowed! There are many nice restaurants, including Brick City Southern Kitchen and Harrys Seafood. There is also a theater, but I didn't go inside. Downtown Ocala looks to be pretty safe and welcoming. I should visit again during the day time and see if there are farmers markets as well. But definitely I will come back for the great restaurants over there. I just wish parking was easier. Overall: B
