Bearded Browncoat Comics and Games is one of the most complete shops of its kind. It has an extensive backstock of comics which ironically almost no comic stores have any longer and it has a vast array of collectible card games to choose from. They even had Warlord! PRODUCTS: So impressed by the vast amount of actual comics and games they had to purchase! Many "comic" stores nowadays have more Funko pops than comic books but this one has a great selection. Not only that but they have an impressive collection of available collectible card games including Magic the Gathering, Pokemon, One Piece, and all the usual games. So impressed they had the Warlord CCG. SERVICE: Again, impressive. The staff was really helpful and overall, it was pretty easy to find things. Decently organized which I have found to be lacking in a lot of different comic stores I've gone to. COST: Very competitively priced. Not into price gouging. Really well run business with a good staff and good business practices. If I lived in the area for sure I would make this my "go to" place for comics and gaming. read more

I grew up with comics and always try to find a nice comic shop close by to browse and see any new books currently available or just to merely reminisce on classic artwork done back in the days. Bearded Browncoat Comics is a great shop filled with just about anything, varying from comics classic or modern, DC/Marvel IDW etc., large selection of funko pops, trading cards, a trading card/board game area to play with friends on the side, classic game systems and games, bookbags and much more all at good prices. If you're looking for a great comic shop, pass by! They have a wonderful hospitable staff, i may have met them all, and they reflect the same inviting friendly service. Great shop, give it as chance! read more

Amazing customer service almost every time I go, the selection is massive, from retro games and comics, to pop figures, to sealed product as well!. Value is also great not too badly priced at all compared to some other shops!! Would def recommend to ppl visiting or in Ocala. read more

Went down to visit Marine Corps Brothers. Everything I needed to get started for a few games were stocked. Thanks for making it easy.

Just like Batman smacking the Joker upside the head with a batarang, this place came out of nowhere. I mean Ocala!! Who would have thought that Ocala would host such an amazing shop. Although Bearded Browncoar didn't have a ton of Golden Age Comics, they had a nice selection of Silver and Copper Age to make my trip more than worth while. Is that a graded Hulk 4 I see there in the display case? Be still my comic book loving heart. I hadn't planned on making any major comic book purchases this trip, so I had to settle for a nice copy of a Hulk 177; hey, you've got to love Adam Warlock! In the future, I might have to call the shop about some of their display case gems. I might have to send an Ocala buddy on a little comic safari on my behalf. read more

This shop has a great selection of comics, video games, and other various games. There aren't as many action figures and other toys as I would like, but this is still a great shop regardless. It's pretty good size as well. I got a great price on a NECA KingKong on my visit here. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the Ocala area. read more

This is the hub for comic books. The only reason you wouldnt come here, is if youre looking for some really old, vintage and rare comics. This place has 6 rows of boxes filled with comic books arranged in alphabetical order. The prices are amazing as well, only a couple bucks for an older comic book. They also have a gaming section where you can find modern and old games and consoles. Theres even a back hangout room. If you like anime this might be your place too with hundreds of mangas, and a bunch of figurines and souveniers. And the staff is even better, the interactions may feel a bit akward the first couple of times you go, but after that its like theyre your long time friend everytime you go there. I would truly recommened this place for any reader that likes comics and/or manga. read more

This is the second location for Bearded Browncoat. It's a comic shop with board games, tabletop supplies, card games, used video games and movies, Funko figures and some novelty shirts. They have a large space but not so much product. I would say that 90% of their comics are back issues. I would have liked a lot more current comics and more indie comics. It seems like this store was outfitted with everything left over from their Ocala location. I hope that the owners can grow this location and diversify their products. read more

Noticed on Facebook that they were having a back issue sale yesterday. I live about 4 hours away but really enjoy digging through back issue bins and I love a great sale. When I arrived I was very happy to find that they had tons of back issues and I spent all afternoon there. It was definitely worth the 8 hours round trip for me. So if you like comics and friendly service then this is the store for you! read more

I have frequented this surprisingly big store a number of times always enjoying my visit. The staff is friendly and considerate without hovering or being overbearing. There is a large selection of board games and accessories, video games, action figures and of course comic books and card games. In fact, many times my friends and I have found some gems in their inventory that we couldn't find anywhere else. Definitely recommend this shop, everyone can find something they like here. read more

Really fantastic shop! So many back issues, and a great place for games, toys and statues. A must-see for all comic fans.

I've always been a fan of comics and board games but these guys have really showed me a whole other level. They are very friendly and inviting to their events and very knowledgeable about new releases along with the rules of many games. If there's a certain game you like to play, guarantee that there's a crowd for you. The place is well organized with sections for each type of hobby you could be in to. They even sell singles which is a nice touch for me personally. Definitely come here for all your gaming and collectible needs. read more

Usually I would support local small businesses, but I draw the line with this one. When it comes to video games and consoles, they sell you broken and defective equipment. They're used, not new, I get it. But when they sell you a defective game that doesn't work, and you bring it back THE SAME DAY and they refuse to give you a refund, THAT IS WHERE I DRAW THE LINE! I was a frequent customer but no more. I will not give them another penny. I will shop either at Vibranium, or online. Avoid this place like the plague. Also their Funkos are overpriced. read more

Nice store But, The prices are 25-35% over Ebay prices and the owner will not come down on any of it. Seems like he looks at listed prices and not sold prices. I understand he has overhead costs that ebay sellers don't and i wouldn't mind paying 5-10% over to support local business but selling a 10-15 dollar comic at 30-40 and slabs that are going for 2-300 dollar and selling them for 400 is not a way to garner return customers. Especially when they find out they overpaid for item. I hope they read this review and start using sites like 130point.com to find the actual FMV(fair market value) for what they are selling. Meanwhile i'll take my money else where read more
