I'm a frequent shopper here. Having 2 under 2 boys, I'm in need of something quite often & I can count on finding here on a budget. Being a sahm, one income family we are able to get new stuff with credit from things we give to them to resell. Not to mention how thoughtful the staff is. Not one but twice they have covered the change total so I wouldn't have to swipe my card. They are so friendly anytime we go there. I especially love that they are considerate to children being children. They never have made me feel like I can't bring my children in there comfortably. I moved here about 2 years ago & can't get over what a great system & staff they have! read more

This store has saved me so much money as I shop for my grand daughter. I recently needed a bigger car seat, so I stopped by this store and bought a gently used one for about one third the cost of a new one. The ladies in there are always helpful when I ask them for certain items. There are toys, books, clothes, etc. to chose from. It's my go-to place when I need anything for her. read more

I purchased an electric scooter for my son for Christmas. The male owner and the younger girl told me they "know for a fact it works cause they tried it. All I need to do is charge the battery." Well today, 1 week before Christmas I charge it and get it ready to find out it DOES NOT WORK. I call and ask them if I should try something or what they would do about it. The owners wife VERY RUDELY tells me she doesn't know and that I was never told it worked (remind you she wasn't there at the time of purchase) and they would not do anything about it. I spend a ton of money at this place. I will never shop there again and I am not stopping with just a review. Just want others to be aware of how they operate. Very poor customer service. Going to The Monkey Cage is about as fun as burning yourself with some distant Uncles lit cigar butts. The help is a statement in contradictions. You're lucky if someone greets you when you come in. You're even luckier if anyone offers to help you find something, check out, get the mate to the shoe you're walking around with aimlessly, or any other 'helpful' gesture. I have literally walked out of the store because of lack of service before. When I asked about selling items to said boutique, I was told "not to be offended, but they only accept name brand items." I obviously wasn't dressed in the manner expected of someone who afford and sell anything name brand. Their appointments to turn in clothes are booked at least a month in advanced - and yet I never see anyone turning in items. And I was told I was lucky I got my January appointment in December, because they weren't accepting appointments in January yet, it was an error. Yet two days later I overhear them telling another customer they'll be accepting February appointments in January. Doesn't make sense to me, but maybe I demand some kind of logic and reasoning for things to make sense to me? And sadly, the quality and adorable-ness factor of the clothes and shoes and other baby items sold in no way shape or form justifies the ill-treatment of the employees. Alas, it's the only consignment store within 40 miles of me that has semi-quality items. Although, truthfully, I prefer driving up north of Gainesville to the City of Alachua (not to be confused with the pronunciation of the county of Alachua) to Wee-Cycle. read more

Not a real consignment shop. It's apparently owned by the Paddock Mall, or so said the employee I spoke to. Apparently this is why they cannot carry or consign any of the good brands you may actually want to buy. For instance $65 Disney outfits...nope. Garanimals...nope. Beautiful formal gowns from Macy's and Belk...nope. We just moved down from Chicago. Most of the clothes were purchased down on State Street or Michigan Ave. A lot of Disney brand! The only thing they WOULD take was some of our old worn out bibs, some socks and a few well used onesies. So if our mostly name-brand and very high end clothing isn't taken, don't expect to find anything good there. What I saw was mostly worn out off brand stuff I'd never heard of. IMHO if they really are owned by a mall, then this is just a way to drive people back to the mall for their bigger, high dollar purchases by only offering garbage at the consignment shop. Don't believe the BS about "only taking name brand." It has nothing to do with quality; it's all about not competing with the mall. I would rather donate every drop of our stuff to Goodwill than help a mall pretend to operate a consignment shop! There are plenty of people in the area who can't afford to buy Disney or Macy's clothing. They ought to have a real option. Shame on them. read more

Was there on Saturday. Bought a few things for my grandson. Was looking for a playpen or pack and play. None in the store but the owner took my name and number in case she got one. I had a pleasant experience. Will definitely shop there again and again. read more

The store is organized in a messy way if that makes sense. If you can't find it someone will help you find it for sure! They have practically EVERYTHING! I got something for all my grandkids and even something for myself. It's like a hidden treasure I didn't know Ocala had. read more

I've never had to schedule an appt to bring in my items to consign. The staff, primarily young women, are busy but always nice and professional. Each time I come in to shop or check on how much I've sold, they know me by name. They have a play area in the middle of the store with a mounted TV that plays movies. My kids actually enjoy going to this store to shop. My items always sell quickly and the return is far better than dealing with shipping and the charges to sell on Ebay. Based on other consignment stores I have used in the past, I am extremely happy with the business I've done here and the location is a win - win, if you want to sell your stuff quickly. read more

I've been shopping & consigning with them for two and half years now and they take care of everything. The staff always recognizes me and treats me well. Fabulous store! I love this place. I brought the family in a few months ago and the kids loved the play area, my husband loved the prices and I loved the organization. The girls working were helpful but not under my feet. Lots of variety and very clean. I now consign there and have had great success and made some money too! I recommend this place to all families! The employees are VERY rude. I would not suggest or return to the store. I would rather take a 10% hit and work with the other consignment shops, they r a lot friendlier and have a lot more class. I was first insulted as a consigner and now as a customer. I will never do business with them again on both ends of the spectrum. read more

My mother and I go to the Monkey Cage about once a month to purchase little things here or there. The staff has always been friendly and they even call you when an item comes in that you are looking for. I even purchased some school uniforms here. read more

do not take clothes or toys here to sell, they do not notify you when or if anything sells, you do not receive any updates, and they do not pay you if you do not go in with in 90 days!! complete rip off..... i was not even notified they moved!!! disgusting customer service and attitude when entering the store!............. stay away. read more
