Never been a frequent customer of Dillards .. all the years that I have either... Lived in Florida... or... visited Florida... Dillards has never been on the top of my shopping list. There CAN be some deals. Sometimes. Many times there are no deals. Housewares, Linens, Luggage, Tableware are all overpriced and sitting at the top of that range that should be charged for these items. You can get many comparable and exact same items elsewhere for much cheaper. Shoes? Very well priced especially for their sale racks. Handbags? Some cute some very well priced and some in the stratosphere. Dillards actually caries real Luis Vuitton handbags and luggage but.... I am not an LV consumer. Clothes... great when there are sales. You have to watch for deals, coupons and price slashing before during and after holidays. I was just recently very successful with the purchase of a makeup bag that is perfect for my trip coming up. Normally I wouldn't pay $48.00 actually $52.00 for a makeup bag but I believe I will keep this one for quite some time. The lady that helped me in the cosmetics section kept me in her "sights" while I was shopping around the entire store... she didn't want to miss getting credit for my purchase. The sales people are very nice and helpful but can be a little pushy. The store looks organized and they do offer some nice lines but my issue with them is that they are overpriced, it's a big deal to get things price matched and several times I bought products off the shelves and they were very expired and not usable so I had to return them. I find Macys is also better for fragrances too. read more

Very nice selection of men's and women's clothing here. Housewares, pocketbooks, handbags, holiday items, shoes, jewelry, perfumes, children's clothes, and more along with a helpful staff. Very clean and organized with good prices and quality merchandise. It's more of a high end retail store but has great sales. When visiting my mom in Ocala I have taken here here to shop and she usually finds a shirt or pocketbook she likes. read more

I opened an account, bought a bunch of clothes, they are all very substandard in material and/or craftsmanship for the price paid. Several of them have been returned, which was a trying ordeal, and the rest are showing signs of deterioration and poor quality. As such, I have closed the account and will no longer shop at dillard's. read more

Dillard's is my favorite upscale store to shop in! The store is absolutely beautiful and always clean. The sales staff is so friendly and helpful. The merchandise is absolutely stunning and most of the time the quality is a step above other department stores. I want to give a shout out to Kaitlyn, in customer service, she went over and above to help me. I had ordered a comforter set in the bedding department in the afternoon the day before going to the customer service counter. They didn't have them item in stock at the Ocala location. I asked the nice lady at the counter, if we could find it in Sarasota store, since I was familiar that location. They had it and I ordered it, however, after going home I realized I would need to change too many other things, to make it work. The next day I went back to Dillards in hopes of canceling the ordered before it shipped. When I approached the customer service counter, they were having trouble finding the order. I had given my credit card to the other Dillard's Store over the phone, at the bedding department. Kaitlyn came to front of the counter, and I explained everything to her. For some reason, the only number I had for the item, was not coming up in the system. She tried everything to find that item in the system. Just when I thought I would have to wait for the order to ship and then return, Kaitlyn, said she was going to call the other location and see if the bedding had shipped yet. She was able to speak to someone on the phone, and to my surprise they hadn't shipped it yet. Kaitlyn, then said she would go ahead and credit my credit card for me right away! Kaitlyn is a great asset to Dillard's, and I hope the manager in charge at Dillard's, recognizes the great job she is doing! read more

Not only are the staff very nice the are very accommodating as well. It is rear to find helpful employees in clothes shops now a days. The employees here are rockstars when it comes to customer service!!! The quality of the clothes I buy out of Dillards lasts a very long time. Their sales are amazing!! The best store in Ocala, I was looking for pants for my son's graduation and we spent almost half an hour trying to choose one and we couldn't choose any, a person named Monica offered us help and in a matter of minutes she selected a combination that my son loved, I couldn't believe how easy and fast she did it!!! Dillard's is one the few retailers I still enjoy shopping in. Over the years because of all the merger, a lot of great names are gone. Marshall Field, Jordan Marsh, Gimbels, A & S, Carson Pirie Scott, Goldwaters, Bullocks, I Magnin, I could go on. All of these had an individual style and a group of buyers who in turn really created that style and identity. Now Sears owns SS Kreese, er K-Mart and Federate through it's Macy's subsidiary seems to own everything else. Oh, I forgot Nordstroms and Needless Markup (my pet name for Neiman Marcus). It's all really very sad. I've always liked Macy's, but I also liked shopping in some of the names listed above and didn't expect Macy's to be on every street corner, of every city I visited. Getting back to Dillard's, they very much remind me of the old Lord & Taylors, or I Magnin. They have personal buyers, or sales people who will remember you if you ask and let you know about an upcoming sales. I found two such dedicated employees here, Faye in Fragrance and Robert in the Ralph Lauren department. Both are excellent and know their areas. If you are looking for some of that old time retail experience, I would suggest you introduce yourself to them. They are very nice and very helpful. Enjoy! read more

In November, I went to Dillard's in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and bought a carry-on rolling luggage from Delsey. The service was great, and I was happy with my purchase. I also bought a sweater as a thank-you gift for my new acquaintance, who drove me there from the ABCC conference we were attending at the University of New Mexico. I bought a pair of Lucky Brand loafers that I love wearing all the time. I went into the Bryn Walker collection, but the salesperson probably thought I could not afford to buy and totally ignored me. Every associate was so kind and welcoming. I enjoyed shopping here. My friend picked up carry on luggage for a last minute trip. The luggage itself had a USB port built in. I love the Kate Spade ear pod case. I have past by Dillard's many times and was hesitant to enter. After begging my husband to go shopping for shirts & a blazer, we went this afternoon around 2:00 p.m. We looked around for a long time & finally a man came & measured him. He said he'd be back in 10 min., but we waited & he didn't come. Since I've had 2 spinal surgeries in 3 yrs., we couldn't wait any longer. I found a chair way over in the men's shoe dept. My husband said we're leaving, so we did. I doubt I'll get him to go shopping at Dillard's again. We're 83 yrs. old & it was a real effort to get there. I love Dillards and this one in particular. They have really friendly staff and great customer service.

The store has a very low morale feel and after experiencing inter action with management I can see why. I felt extremely pressured in cosmetics and was trying to be sold a replacement item because they were out of stock on the item I came for. I will be taking my future but elsewhere. I truly feel bad for the sales people. You can tell they are very stressed. The manager of the store thinks he is at Neiman Marcus and Dillard's isn't even close. God forbid I walk around this store in my gym clothes or anything casual. God forbid I don't have anything expensive on when I walk thru the door. Sales associates stalking me from start to finish. Asking me if they could help me over and over again. Never felt so low while trying to shop. I've been purchasing from Dillard's for over fifteen years now but this store and its associates made me feel like a peasant and completely out of place. Beautiful space, gorgeously appointed, pricey. The new store at Market Street is a big city department store complete with fashion forward merchandise for men, women and children. Every employee was incredibly friendly and helpful. The store was immaculate and brand new. Let's hope that they can maintain this level of service. I recently purchased five shirts during a sale at Dillards. I couldn't remember my size so I asked to be measured. The store associate measured me and said that I was a 16 -1/2 x 33. I selected five shirts of that size and paid for them. When I got home, I tried one on and thought that it fit short in the sleeve and seemed short in length. I own a shirt by the same manufacturer and that shirt fits fine. I looked at it and saw that it was a 16 1/2 x 34. So back to Dillards I went and tried to exchange the five shirts. The receipt does say no returns, but because I purchased the shirts based on measurements made by the very same associate with whom who I tried to transact the exchange I thought that there might be room for exception or compromise. I offered to keep the shirt that I had tried on at home. No. I was told that it is corporate policy and given an explanation not fitting the circumstance. Was told that it had to do with people grabbing handfuls of merchandise and fighting over it during sales. I was making an exchange not a purchase and I was the only person in the vicinity. I walked out to the car and thought about it. The associate measured me and I purchased five shirts based the size that was provided me. I thought and still do that I should be allowed to exchange them for the correct size. No. I asked to speak with a manager. I did not, but the associate called the manager who was told that I wished to return the shirts. I was not given the opportunity to speak with the GM or any manager for that matter. I reminded the associate that I didn't want to return the shirts, but that I wanted to exchange them for the correct size. Too late, hung up. read more

I am interviewing for a very important career as a flight attendant. To do this I was looking for a very impressionable pants suit in black. I found this search to be a little challenging. No sales associate helped me at any other dept store. I went to Kohls, Bealls, Belk, JC Penny, Macys and I even resorted to checking at Goodwill. I cannot afford a store such as Dillards so I didn't think to go there. In the woman's clothing, I was greeted by Shelley Goulet. She was dressed to perfection and a very warm personality. She asked me what I needed today and I told her I was in need of a women's pant suit. She asked what size, although I was embarrassed to tell her, I said I think 18-20. Shelley walked me directly to the suits. I tried on a 20, then an 18, she said I definitely think you are a 16. The 16 fit perfectly and so did my smile. Thank you Dillards for what you did for me today. I will need more suits and if I have to purchase one piece at a time I will. I will not be going to any other dept store for my needs. Jennifer was the nastiest sales associate I have ever come across. Last week I asked for the Xs on the maniquin she told me to try on the small. I said no thank you I want to purchase the Xs. While waiting for the skirt I browsed the michael kors section and she told me nothing would fit me. I left the store upset and went to Macy's to finish shopping. I returned the skirt at Dillard's today because I found a similar skirt at Macy's along with a few other things. I avoided Jennifer's counter and she still came over (a tall, thin older woman) and said "oh it did not fit" in a snide tone. I said it was too short. Honestly it was an 80 dollar skirt and I loved it but I don't need anyone to be mean or nasty to my mom or me. I know my size. I have been 110 at 5'3" for the last fifteen years. Please avoid her while shopping. She is the type of person that needs to put a person down to make herself feel better. It is sad that Dillard's hired a woman of her age that acts in that manor. I won't return to this store again because I don't want to run into this snide nasty old woman. read more

Dillard's wow I did not know this department store existed until I moved down south. This store is amazing its huge and always so neatly kept. Way better than Macys in the paddock mall. I come to this store for everything clothes, jewelry, and shoes. They have the best brands and all the latest stuff. If your looking for shoes ask for sherry she is by far the nicest, these people work on commission so she's the only one that doesn't attack you or force you to buy anything you don't want. She's a lovely lady and always helps me find the right shoe I only go to her. So if your in Ocala skip the paddock mall and go straight to Dillard's you cant go wrong they are like a mini mall they have everything you're looking for. read more

Called to check in store inventory on a dress. Had inventory number ready & was just wanting to have someone look in their computer systems to see how many & what sizes were available. After being told by the person in that specific dept she'd have to "call me back" and there was no one she could transfer me to in another dept I said I would just call back & speak to someone in another department. I called the 2nd most obvious department & she transferred me to customer service who then said she had to transfer me to a different department. I work in hospitality & customer service & this store has the most incompetent employees I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with. read more

After looking on line with no luck, I looked at this store for a formal dress for my son's wedding. The sales ladies were wonderful, they had an amazing selection, and the dress I found was perfect, AND a great price. The store was so nicely set up, and it was such a pleasure to be in such a well laid out retail space.
