Oh my goodness! Where to begin...I just moved here from Palm Beach County. I am used to clean, well-stocked, modern retail stores. The Ocala Macy's was so dirty I could not believe this proud department-store chain would let a store deteriorate like this. The ladies room was not just filthy -- which it was -- but it also had cracked, dirty floors, plumbing fixtures that were so outdated I was amazed they worked and why is the toilet 6 inches off the floor?. Honestly, I have seen gas-station restrooms that would put this one to shame, and not in a god way. To add insult to smelly injury: I could not find a clerk to ring up my merchandise. I finally left in disgust. I will not be going back. read more

Department stores all seem ridiculously over priced to me, as does this one. It was well stocked. There were alot of long stained carpets, and dinged up shelving, in a way Macys never would have allowed years ago. I expect that from the second line type places that come in after the major chains leave, but was surprised to see it in an establishment that one would think takes itself seriously. The store smells like mold. Its hot and has a unfriendly customer service and poor selection. I couldn't WAIT to get out of there.

This store is so run down and OLD. It has a very weird smell. I love Macy's quality but struggle shopping here. It is just awful.

This is one of the smallest Macy's I have ever encountered. Paddock for a long time was the only game in Ocala. Other offering in this Mall, include JC Penny's and Sears. This Macy's would be a no brainer against that competition but for the size of the store. On a square footage basis, I'm sure Macy's management must be pleased with themselves. But the shortcomings are the limited selection and reduced number of sizes available to customers -- Pettit and XXL are all but forgotten. Nearby Dillard's feels almost twice as large and has a much, much wider selection in all departments. read more

The store has much to offer. Excellent selections of swimsuits. Clothing is expensive however it's made of good quality. The saleswoman we had was the weakest link. Perhaps we caught her on a bad day. warm and fuzzy---she was not read more

We have always had great customer service. Most recently I bought an item during an after Christmas special and needed to exchange it for another size. The clerk made sure the sale price was honored even though it had passed. She was pleasant and helpful throughout. I know online shopping is popular but we need bricks and mortar too. read more

Disgusting! Small! No sales personnel! Limited, very limited selection of clothing and everything else. Totally backward and back-woods mini-store. Not a real Macy's...have no idea what it really is. You can go down the road a little bit and to a really nice Dillards! They have great selection and excellent sales associates. This Macy's store should be knocked down and rebuilt. Men's and women's rest rooms are disgusting! The entire store is a disaster. May as well go anywhere else. But not here. I read many negative reviews here about my dear old Macy's. Listen I've been a Macy's customer for probably 30 years. Yes I was used to the gigantic 6th floor Macy's on 34th street - New York City and where selection was endless. I agree there is no comparison between the Macy's in Ocala and New York, but like "Eileen" from The Villages said we're fortunate to have Macy's in Ocala. It's the only decent store in Ocala. Maybe my expectations have been lowered as the small town living seeps in... Things move a little bit slower, and people don't seem to be as demanding. So, I guess I should cut them some slack that it's the holiday season, and they're one of a handful of stores in what is likely a 40 mile radius that provides 'higher quality' products. But, I"m kind of merciless when it comes to some expectations.... 1. Product placement. I circled this store and not ONCE did I see what I was looking for (shoes for children/men). 2. I was going to buy a Christmas Present for The Fiance... And it took a minute for someone to come over to the counter to help me. Fine, forgiven, it's busy. There were no test strips for cologne. Are you kidding me? There's no help OR test strips? You're on shaky ground now. The lady that finally came over provided me with test strips. Then she said she was going to help the couple standing behind me and she'd be right back. She walked off, showed them something, and WALKED OFF. I stood there for what seemed like the entire afternoon (in reality, possibly 4 minutes) and she never returned. UNFORGIVABLE! I walked out. Left. Never to be heard from again. I was just surfing the site trying to determine if the Macy's Paddock Mall in Ocala had a furniture section when I came across these (albeit old) mostly bad reviews for that store! Look, we are lucky to have one, regardless of size. I come from the land of Mega Macy's (Palm Beach County) and I am just grateful to have a real store. I can touch and feel and if they don't have my size or color in the store, they are happy to order it for me and ship it FREE to my door. I just recently moved to The Villages, and, for the size of the area, I cannot believe the lack of great shopping.....so at least it's only a short drive to Ocala and I am happy to see a Macy's with my favorite brands even if the aisles are a little crowded..now if we could find room for a Nordstrom's (with an Anastasia department) I could really be a happy shopper! read more

Pleasant & prompt service at the Clinique counter, even better in the Men's Dept!!!! No it's not the PB Gardens Mall store but that's part of why we moved here. Nice folks, clean place & GOOD sales. read more
