On the evening of Thursday, April 23, my son and I were sitting having dinner in the food court of the paddock mall. We were approached by a woman and what I would describe as a small uniform who mumbled something to us, which we couldn't quite understand. She walked on and we continued eating. A short time later, a man wearing the same uniform approach and said rather rudely "Didn't she tell you to move. This section is closed." I asked how I was supposed to know that, and was pointed to some collection of ropes that apparently blocked off one side of the food court, and told "common sense" in a very condescending tone e. We got up and moved, frustrated by the incredibly rude treatment. In this time of reduced foot, traffic and shopping malls, I cannot believe that the Management would want staff to treat customers so rudely. Based on this, I assure you, I will never return to this particular mall. I expect it will probably be closed and turned into a storage facility or something similar in the near future. The only real mall in the Ocala area where my parents house is at. Kind of a quiet shopping center as it never seems overly busy the times I have been there. Typical selection of shops you can expect in a mall, along with assorted merchandise kiosks in walkways. Decent food court area. Overall clean looking and well lit. Plenty of parking. read more

This is the only mall in the Ocala area. Parking wasn't hard to find in the food court area. So I parked over there and ate at the food court. After eating, I took a quick walk to see what stores are available. The anchor stores had JCPenney, Belks, and Macy. There looks to be another anchor store called Paddock Market, but it doesn't look open yet. Some of the more noticeable answer stores included Bath and Body Works, Lululemon, and Hollisters. I didn't go inside any of the stores as I didn't see any sales that I was looking for. There area some kid friendly activities inside the mall, including the animal scooters, bungee bounce, and kiddie rides. This is one of the few malls where I saw the T-Bone bull ride. There was a sign saying adults were not allowed to ride, but this naughty cowboy still had to mount it. Luckily, no one was there to give stares or yell at me. I also saw mechanical horses at the Paddock Market, so I will definitely mount those as well when that store opens. I didn't really see staff at the mall. Normally Allied Universal security will be present and patrolling, especially after the shooting incident a couple years ago. However, I didn't see them at all today. While this is the only mall in Ocala, as least it looks alive with some patrons roaming and shopping. It's a nice small mall to stop by when visiting Ocala. Overall: B read more

Lululemon & Vic Secret & Macy's & JC penny & yes if you are in need of a back massage in a chair while your significant other shops, by all means do it. This is a good mall for the city of Ocala. It's nothing big, but has the stores a mall of this size needs the food court is always changing, I'm not sure if this is a good thing, but it keeps the variety coming, so that's good. Dont walk too fast, or you'll already see the whole mall. This is good just for stopping for what you need and leaving. read more

Although it is the only mall in Ocala area, it has a plethora of options to pick from. This is especially the case since it has added on the new market. It is kept clean and has a nice variety of food options for those of us like to eat. In addition, they do at least try to stay in touch with the constant fashion changes. The Popeyes in the food court gave me stale chicken and fries that tasted like they had been sitting for hours. When I went to talk to the manager about this, the girls that served me my food were whispering and giggling knowing that they gave me old food. Back when I used to live in Florida, this place was a frequent hangout of mine. To the point everyone knew EXACTLY who I was. This was mainly because I was that ONE person who had enough courage to go out in public in Cosplay EVERYDAY and not just on Halloween. Whether I was dressed up as Super Mario, or Vegeta from Dragon Ball Z, I made a name for myself there. Now that we got that out of the way, let's talk about this place. This place has a little bit of everything. Are you looking for Shoe? They've got PLENTY of shoe stores here. Are you looking for clothes? There's plenty of quality clothes stores here. Are you looking for food? There's an entire food court with plenty of places to sit. Which conveniently is right next to the bathrooms. Are you looking for Gaming/Anime related stuff? There's not only a Gamestop, but an FYE. Which by the way, seeing an FYE to me is a breath of fresh air cause you don't see too many of those these days. Sometimes the Mall holds events that the Mall staff lets everyone know about in advance. You can rest assure you'll be safe here as the Mall cops are constantly patrolling the area at all times. There's arcade machines if you want to pass some time. If you have children, there's a little play area for them to have their fun. There's a leader board to determine who's walked the most laps around the mall (Which I was #1 at one point). It's a one floor mall, but there's certainly a lot to see and do. ESPECIALLY around Halloween. At one point, there even was a mini Anime/Gaming convention in the mall complete with Vendors. I can't really speak enough good about this place. The time I spent there was a long time ago, and since, I've moved to Tennessee, but this place is one of the places I missed the most. I just moved to Ocala. Went to check out this mall today. Nice mall in general for a medium. Size mall. But the mens room was gross. The dividers between the urinals were disgusting. Really grossed me out. Looked like they have been like that for quite some time. Pretty much ruined my otherwise nice experience. Whoever is inspecting that mens room isn't doing a good job of reporting what needs to be cleaned and or replaced. read more

I love this mall it has a lot of the major shopping stores for clothing, jewelry, everything and a nice food court.

The mall is under new management, the Washington Prime Group from Ohio ~ ...and has begun to transform the Paddock Mall into a vibrant retail/community/culinary facility. Just wanted to give people a heads up about a disturbing incident that occurred today at the Paddock Mall. I was followed and harassed by an employee at the massage kiosk in front of the Bunker 27 clothing store. This employee repeatedly tried to convince me to buy a massage despite me telling him "no thank you" very clearly, and followed me away from the kiosk. He motioned as if to touch my shoulder as I walked away with my back turned, and did not desist until I raised my voice to say "no thank you" very loudly. This interaction made me extremely unsafe, especially since I had my two young children with me. I was not able to see a name tag on this employee, but I observed that he appeared to be in his 60s and of Asian descent. I mention his race strictly for identification purposes, with absolutely no discrimination intended. I have contacted the general manager at the mall and the security office, and hope that no one else has to experience this behavior while they are trying to shop. read more

Back in the day, Paddock Mall was "the" place to shop in Ocala and for a long time it was the only game in town. But to paraphrase the late Ted Geisel, aka Doctor Seuss: I do not like this Mall, I do not like it one bit; I do not like green eggs and ham. I do not like them, Sam-I-am. Since Dillard's moved out and up the road three miles to Market Street, Paddock has lost some of its luster. Mind you, it's not run down. It's a Norton Property and they tend to keep things clean and spiffy. But the stores we tend to shop in, aren't here. The food court is non existent and Santa was hidden in the middle of Santaland so you had to physically go in if you wanted to see him. Went there today to looks for men's suits in Macy's and JCPenneys. The mall was clean and inviting. The stores clerks were so pleasant and helped us with out shopping. Actually did not find a suit for me, but bought some other things while we were there. We also went to the food court while we were there, not super busy and a good value for lunch. We are senior citizens and haven't been to a mall in a while, and it was a pleasant day today. read more

Pros: It's well kept, clean, and hosts the typical mall stores (Sears, JCPenny, Macys, etc.) Cons: It is almost lifeless and has barely any traffic to it; lacks some mall stores such as Dillards Bottom Line: If you need to go to a mall Paddock is one of your only options in Ocala, however, this barren wasteland is mostly occupied by a few packs of tweens and retired peoples. Being a Florida Gator I have grown pretty accustomed to small towns, however all of my friends from Ocala claim that in terms of size UF is gigantic in comparison. Don't get me wrong Ocala has A LOT of delicious food from Amrit Palace to La Cuisine. However Paddock mall, despite its size and cleanliness, is just a reminder of how empty Ocala can be. Walking through the mall you immediately note the eerie silence that permeates the space. The only things missing from the scene were tumbleweed flowing in the wind, creepy music, AND DID I MENTION PEOPLE?!? Honestly where is everybody? You'd think that more people would be at such a decent looking mall. The quiet air is unsettling and I would not be surprised if I suddenly found myself straight out of a horror movie with serial killers and spirits ready to pounce on unsuspecting visitors. The only signs of intelligent life is the hodgepodge of middle schoolers who have way too much time in the summer and senior citizens who seem to have trouble operating their new smart phones. Overall this mall is as clean, standard, and uninteresting as most malls get. There is a Sears, JCPenny, Gamestop, Payless, Macy's an assortment of other stores normally associated with the mall. THE FOOD COURT IS ABSOLUTELY TINY and I would definitely seek the numerous other local eateries Ocala has to offer. Unless you NEED to go to the mall, don't waste your time here; all you will find is disconcerting quiet and a strange impending sense of doom. read more

The mall is no longer as it was when I was a kid. Many stores have changed. The quality of some of the clothes is fair. The prices seem unrealistic unless there is a really good sale going on. The food options in the food court aren't very desirable except the most popular fast food chicken place around. I'd rather purchase my clothing online then stand inline for a cashier. read more

The Ocala Mall Average mall, average stores, average amount of people... Odd enough, I nearly never go! I hate malls. I don't find this place appealing at all. You have people in the middle of the mall constantly hawking things at you, "Hey, try this..." "Hey, come put this cream on..." "Do you want some of this..." No... I just want to go to Claire's... I think I am actually going to start getting my items on-line. Actually, I like the mall for some of the stores, but the pricing in the stores cannot compete with the pricing on-line and I feel really sorry that the stores having to up-price to make rent and compete. The mall itself is clean and kept up. It's not run down... There are a lot of Tweens around and I do see some homeless people in the mall walking around which is kind of distracting for me because I want to help them and offer them some food. My kids like to look at them and ask questions, so I find myself engaging in topics that aren't "mall-ready" topics... If you want something "In and out.." Go on-line find what you want... Go in to that store from the outside of it and then get out. That's my advice... I wouldn't want to walk the mall. That's not my "thang..." but then, I am not a tween anymore... This is a pretty average sized mall. Pretty much it if you're looking for a mall in Ocala. It has all your usual mall stores... JC Penney, Belk, Victoria's Secret, Bed Bath & Body Works... you get the picture. It does seem a little dated though. Most of the stores seem like they are on the verge of going out of business (which might be the truth based on the way the economy is right now...), and it's just a depressing place to go shopping. It has a pretty weak food court and no other restaurants dispersed throughout the mall. All in all... I'm kinda EHH about this place. I only head here when there's a specific need to go to one of the stores that are only available at the mall! read more

My boyfriend is an Ocala native and took me here because I wanted to see his old stomping grounds. There's not really a lot of appeal to this mall nor is there much variety. You have your typical department stores and if that's up your alley then this mall should suit you just fine. If you're someone looking for name brands in stand-alone shops, you won't find it here. I was impressed to find Francesca's here, but it was the only store that I could find anything I liked. If you're looking to really splurge and don't mind a little bit of a drive, it's worth the trip to Gainesville for The Oaks. read more

I was on a roadtrip to Ocala with my mom (who came to visit me from Puerto Rico). We decided to stop by Paddock Mall to do a little bit of shopping before meeting up with one of her friends that lives in Ocala. It was sad that this is suppose to be the main mall at ocala (!?) and it was empty and slightly boring atmosphere but maybe it was that day. They have limited stores ( Payless, Radio shack, AE, Hollister, VS, Charlotte russe) to name a few and some department stores (Macys, JcPenny, Sears). On the plus side, I had NO trouble finding a parking spot near the entrance. I guess i am got accustomed to how awesome Plaza las Americas (PR) and Westfield Malls (Tampa Bay area). read more

I lived in Tampa, FL for 8 years & would always come to Macy's in Ocala b/c I can always get my clothing in hard to find sizes. The staff there is beyond friendly.
