Kal Ho Naa Ho is one of my favorite soundtracks and my love of the music dates back to the Lata Mangeshkar 70's. Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, darn fine food. Five of us splurged on the family style $75 per person plus tax and tip sampler. An elegant sufficiency. Delicious. Beautiful presentation. Great flavor and diversity. Lotsa desserts as a finish, to have us leaving happy. Loved the food, hated the sound system noise. Service was great. Here are some photos for you.

I was particularly interested by the Indian fusion concept. We arrived right at the start of Happy Hour on a Friday evening. We were surprised to be the only diners there - though I will say, this is a difficult spot to access! Driving here involved quite a few u-turns. There's some parking available right next to the restaurant, which has a patio . The inside is spacious with ample seating - high tops and regular tables. A host quickly seated us, and our server explained the happy hour and regular menu to us. We decided on the paratha smash burger, spaghetti bolognese, and for drinks the lusty monk and mango uncensored. Our drinks came first - we thoroughly enjoyed the lusty monk which was essentially a spiced margarita. The mango uncensored was more of a miss - it tasted nice but seemed a bit bland for a full-price cocktail. It comes with a small piece of mango sweet on top of the ice cube which didn't do much for me. Now the food - which was fantastic. The standout here was the paratha smash burger - I've never tried a paratha burger and I absolutely loved it!! The meat was seasoned very well and I loved the onion and cheese pairing as well. The paratha was buttery and went so nicely with the rest of the ingredients. The masala fries were crisp and made a lovely pairing with the chutney. The spaghetti bolognese was also very tasty - the keema was nicely seasoned and I also enjoyed the cheesy garlic bread that comes with it. That being said, the bolognese didn't strike me as a particularly impressive or unique dish, though the flavors were excellent. We've been talking about making the drive out here again soon to try more items from their menu!

Enticed by the promise of flavors, I ordered a chicken tikka kati roll and a paneer naan pizza. I…read moreinitially thought the color of the chicken in the tikka roll was a little off putting (a shade of pink instead of the classic orange), and the flavor wasn't quite right. but then I realized they had given me a chicken cilantro wrap instead. The meat needed some flavor, and there weren't any sauces or dips (which would've helped a bit!) to save the day. The naan pizza was essentially a perfectly flat store-bought naan with the texture of a slightly softer version of a Lunchables pizza crust. The paneer was bright red but didn't have much flavor. The bits of onions and melty cheese were the highlight. MT said it was like bad school cafeteria pizza, but I'm easily satisfied with melty cheese on bread (although this one was quite dry) :) I liked how the food was hot and fresh, but it was pretty pricey for the quality, lack of flavor, and amount of food. I'm a little bummed they messed up my order. Probably would try something else at Lyric Market next time!

Kati Roll Wala is not at all like the Kati Roll in NYC, but the smells and nostalgia in the mango juice rings true. I found their tikka bowl little spicy but their wraps add enough carbs (sorry not sorry) to soften the spice. My husband, however, will devour any and all food from Kati Roll Wala. He even commented, "your mom would enjoy this" - that made me laugh. No matter what you order, definitely get a mango juice. The service is quick and this is a a great stop before theater, symphony, or ballet.

I would say the menu was a little hard to read as far as overall readability and organization. For example, for the size of the Kashmiri kebabs, I was surprised to see they were a pretty large portion - since they were under Street Favorites, I would think they would've been smaller. Meena Bazaar Samosa (potato) 7.5/10 - ($6) Spicy, creamy, flavorful potato filling. This came with a tamarind chutney (not particularly my favorite), but it cuts through the richness of the samosa. Black Sesame Chicken Samosa 9/10 - ($7) Yum!! Loved this one. The yogurt and fig that accompanied this was perfect. I think the yogurt sauce should be served on the Meena Bazaar samosa as well. These samosas were a good sharing size once you cut it in half. Shrimp Balchao 6.5/10 - ($28) Heavy on the big chunks of ginger in the sauce. The overall composition reminds me of shakshuka, as this balchao had a similar flavor profile (but with more ginger)- tomato based thick sauce, red pepper, and big pieces of shrimp. The quality of shrimp was fantastic, and it's served with a dosa. Kasmiri Kebabs (Chicken) 7/10 - ($24) These were good. Chicken was juicy. It was a little spicy, but the yogurt sauce and mini orange salad helped balance it out. I loved the orange salad - it really needed an acidic component. I just wish the kebabs were served with rice. This spot is a chance to experience Indian food from a difference lens, and I think it's worth trying! I wasn't personally blown away, but maybe the brunch menu is better!

As I see the entrance, love the decor, ambiance, and the whole seating area with bar in the middle, flowers and sculptures is cute and insta worthy. I was sat down at 8 pm, my server was great, he does talk a lot but that's his personality. From the server standpoint service was great. Now the food, I ordered Mithus shrimp and butter chicken experience. I asked for spicy for both dishes. Shrimp and the sauce, really good, came with soft buns. Delicious! Although it was not spicy at as asked. The butter chicken experience was very disappointing for me - it came in 3 sauces, white, tomatillo and traditional. I felt they needed a bit of flavor, something more bold. I felt meh the whole time as I have had better butter chicken. Mind you, I'm Punjabi and this is owned by Punjabis so I was surprised the food was tasted by someone and was said this is ok. The traditional was my biggest meh, as the sauce was way too tangy, that is not butter chicken though. Now service, although server was great, my food was severely late, I was literally scrolling on my phone starving. Nothing was offered by staff to make up for it. When I say late - I sat down at 8 pm, I ordered both - app and main dish at the same time. My butter chicken did not hit my table till 9:30 pm. I almost wanted to walk out. The restaurant really need to step up their flavor game and service game. Overall, nothing to rave about, or make an effort to come back unless they really make it better. I have had better Indian food let alone Michelin, which again has been a great experience in New York, Chicago, DC and in Europe. I think the severely late food service, and lack of flavors, and keeping it so bland despite asking for spicy, killed it for me.
