We just found Bow Wow Bungalow about an hour or so ago, My husband spoke to David over the phone and we appreciated his professionalism and the patience he had with us this morning over the phone. He took the time to email us pricing, and when we called back he was very kind to understand that we would be 10 minutes late. We have a husky/shepherd mix and lover her so so much, we are having a baby May 20th & need a boarding place. David suggested we let her stay for doggy day camp, and also suggested we bring her a few times before May 20th & we will! And they offered to groom her, which we also love! I also appreciate that we can see what our pup is doing over the cams, and so far she is loving it! We've only had Lucy for about 4 months and had no idea she would love pools. We already knew that she's a sweetheart, but seeing how much she enjoys this establishment over the camera is honestly what has sold us on this place. This will be our go to in the future, and we will be bringing Lucy often so she can have some fun with other pups. Thank you for being so kind and patient with us. read more

We have taken our dog to this daycare multiple times last year and for whatever reason things have changed in the last few months. They got a new system and required new temperament testing, ok, we can do that. They needed updated records even though we sent updated records in the last few months, ok. But when I send updated records days before his required temperament test and when we drop him off NOW you tell us his current vaccine that doesn't need to be renewed for another 2 months is not good enough? I am disgusted. He is vaccinated, they are up to date, this is ridiculous. We take time out of our day, plan for this, drive from Santa Clarita because he loves it and are meet with this. This is unprofessional, doesn't make any sense and I am pissed. We will not be coming here again. read more

DO NOT USE BOW WOW BUNGALOW!!!!!! I called twice within two weeks to verify the arrangement that a manager had promised me. I was promised that I could sign a waiver because my dog was now due for two vaccines. I took her immediately to get the first round of the 2 vaccines. I was told that because she had had the first round I could sign a waiver and they would be happy to board her. "Bring her in and sign the waiver and we will be happy to take care of your puppy," is what I was told for the second time within one week of my Thanksgiving flight. The day before my flight I took her in and they would not allow me to sign the waiver and turned us away. THE DAY BEFORE MY THANKSGIVING FLIGHT IS WHEN THIS OCCURRED!!! They said there had been a change in management two days before and therefore the owners would not honor what the previous manager had told me less than a week earlier. At the very least they could have informed me that the other manager was gone and that they were no longer accepting waivers. COMPLETELY irresponsible way to run a business, and the public is asked to trust these people with their pets? I don't think so. AGAIN, AVOID BOW WOW BUNGALOW AT ALL COSTS!!! read more

So my great Dane- Rottie mix, Hannah , was boarded ther August 6-8,2021. She's 19 months.When she was picked up around 5 pm she can home. She's an inside dog. Around 2:30 am I took her out to use the bathroom. I was petting her and felt a tick on her neck full of her blood which mean it was attached there for a while so I pulled it off and killed it.( see picture)! I called and talked to a staff member and she said that the manager would be in later and I could call back. She also said to send the picture of the tick to their email . I called am to to a manager about this and he was saying it could be from anything. He didn't say anything about the fact my dog got the tick from being boarded at now wow bungalow . He deflected that she got it from there. He said there hasn't been a tick problem there in 2 years.He said that she could have gotten from anywhere which is not possible since we picked her up and brought her home where she was in the house. I took her to the vet and they tested her and also say hot spots between her paws, Luckily she didn't contract any diseases. They checked for anymore ticks and there were none About a week later she developed a runny nose and congestion. I took her to the vet AGAIN . She has a upper respiratory infection they said it's contagious. They gave her antibiotics. I have an old chihuahua and he started hacking and coughing. I the took him to the vet the same day and they put him on antibiotics. He's 17 years old. Hannah doesn't play with other dog. She was with dogs at bow wow bungalow. So she had to have gotten it from her stay. I have spent just hundreds (~$ 500) of dollars on vet bills. She also has hot spots between her paws after staying there . So again more money on medication. This is so frustrating and sad. I trusted them with my dog and Im disappointed. I will never board Hannah here!!! read more

NEVER AGAIN WILL I BOARD MY DOG HERE!!! We had to board our pup for a full week while we were out of the state. She had stayed for two nights once before and things seemed ok so we felt comfortable to leave her for longer. I called and checked in on her every couple of days and got the same "she's doing great" response. Two days before we picked her up my husband got a text saying her teeth were inflamed. They didn't send a picture so it was hard to know her condition, considering she barely has bottom teeth due to past negligence before adopting her. My husband asked if she was chewing on things, thinking she might've been stressed. He never got a response back. Not even a suggestion on what she might need to help her gums. That was the end of the "conversation." For those that boast about cameras - that's only for daycare! There's not a way to see what's happening in the kennels and they don't give tours of their property. Once we picked her up: - It took them at least 15 minutes for them to bring her out, even though we called ahead to let them know we were on our way. We were the only customers there upon arrival - They had lost our leash - Her muzzle was red and sore and we were never told what happened. - She had chewed up her bed and blanket and they didn't tell us about it (she was clearly very stressed and we had no clue as to her behavior) - The employee asked if the chewed up bed was ours (it was) since it apparently wasn't in her designated area - THERE WAS MEDICATION LEFT OVER THAT THEY NEVER GAVE HER which I don't need to emphasize how dangerous that is She seemed in shock when she saw us and didn't express excitement until we physically got home and was then clearly relieved to be back home with us. I can wholeheartedly say I will never leave her here again! There are so many employees there - I rarely see the same person twice after half a dozen visits. I don't know their system in the back but in my opinion it isn't working. I'd love to say everyone is doing their best, but if this is their best, it's not good enough for my family. I'm calling and speaking with a manager tomorrow. read more

We would have been first time client's visiting the facility. Unfortunately no one told us of the vaccine requirements or to bring vaccine passports with us prior to our arrival. We ended up showing up to the facility and was able to quickly call and verify that our puppies were in fact vaccinated. However one of this facilities requirements weren't met. Instead of being treated with respect the woman who was supposed to be helpful was ignorant and callous about her delivery with the information. As well as short and condescending. I'd say I wasn't surprised but considering it seems there are no other black individuals who board their dogs here I'm calling it as what I was shown. A clearly racist establishment. If that's not the case you certainly have crude gatekeepers who exhibit dangerous behaviors congruent to racist rhetoric/behaviors. I will not tolerate that nor will you have to worry about our business with this establishment. read more

What can I say about Bow Wow Bungalow but Thank God I have access to the most welcoming, attentive, kind, loving crew of dog loving people I have ever experienced. I can only give thanks and more thanks... I adopted my first dog, a beautiful Alaskan Husky named Charlie about 11months ago now. Once I adopted Charlie I realized that this dog will need lots of exercise and attention, and I was ready for the challenge. I knew that this dog was going to be a part of my family for many many years. I am a very active person and figured out how to satisfy Charlie's needs, but with any situation, some times your schedule demands travel and takes you outside of your normal routine. So as time went on, I started looking for the best Doggie day care. I looked all around and found that most were small, with concrete floors and designed for smaller dogs. So with the help on my Mom and sister we continued our search. Then by the grace of God, a friend of my sisters suggested Bow Wow Bungalow with high praise. So of course at first I was skeptical, because I wanted the very best. So my Mom and I went to check it out..... I made an appointment for a meet and greet. Right away they made sure Charlie was completely vetted with verification with his paperwork. Once that was accomplished he had an initial visit for the day. Minimum 4 hours stay to observe his behavior towards other dogs and humans. They checked his temperament and personality. Once he passed his initial interview he was ready to go. They suggested I bring him in a few times so he would get used to his surroundings before I had to leave out of town, so I did and glad I flowed their request. Of course I was very query about leaving him for 10 days. It would be our first separation. But at the end I decided to go with Bow Wow Bunglow and it was an amazing experience for me and Charlie. They have 24 hour doggie cams and so you can watch your dogs activities all day, which I utilized everyday. And I still do today. As the months have gone on, Charlie has learned to love Bow Wow Bungalow and the staff looks forward to his arrival. Whether you're looking for day care or overnight boarding I highly recommend Bow Wow Bunglow. I tend to be a little anal as a dog owner, but whenever I call with a request or concern, they always welcome and accommodate my requests without question. The venue is huge! Indoor/ outdoor. All grass. Pools, activities... it's like if I could imagine "Dog heaven" for a dog. And the bonus is their price point is right in target. Which is so so important especially with so many people out of work. But it's been worth every penny to feel confident your pet is being treated with the utmost attention. When I first started bringing my dog here, she was just a puppy and finished puppy pre-school. She LOVED it. She ran out of the car and right in - basically wouldn't even turn around and care to say bye to me. She then boarded here twice. Both times, they took good care of her and when I picked her up, she was perfectly healthy and great! I then brought her back a few times and suddenly, she stopped wanting to go. She literally would freeze. Refuse to go in. It was a complete 180. I don't know what happened. But what I did notice is that this place got busier and busier and took in more and more dogs. I mean, a few times I looked on the camera and the place was packed!!! And there certainly is not enough handlers for the number of dogs. This place, in my opinion, started to get more corporate, and greedy and became more about the $$$ as opposed to the dogs and the safety of the dogs. And what's worse, the prior ownership used to separate the dogs by size and since being take over by the new folks... they do NOT separate small and big dogs. So my little Beagle is literally roaming amongst huge German Shepards, Akitas, and even a Great Dane. I can understand why she's so terrified. And once I saw these big dogs running and chasing each other and of course, my little one is in the way, and while it wasn't intentional, they plowed her down and of course, she's frightened. I just don't think it's right to have big dogs and little dogs together, or at least if you're mixing them like that.. separate by their energy levels. Because of this, and her fear, I stopped bringing her. I even had a ton of leftover daycare days on my package but I let it expire. The happiness and safety of my dog is more important than money. So the search continues for another daycare that separates dogs by size. read more

The day camp itself is fine. My dog seems to enjoy it, and I like being able to check on him on the WebCam. The staff is friendly, however, their policies are completely out of hand. Every six months, they require that you bring your dog in for a re-evaluation. Only the first evaluation is free, every time after that you will have to pay. The dog is also required to stay for four hours if they pass that initial evaluation. For me personally, I work from home and don't regularly need daycare or boarding, but when I do, I want to be able to call a place that my dog is comfortable with and get him in without needing to schedule an additional day for a reevaluation if he hasn't been there in a few months. They also require unnecessary vaccinations. While Bordetella is only needed annually, they will require it every six months. Additionally, they require the canine influenza vaccine, which is not a requirement by any city, or state regulations and wasn't recommended by my vet. I'm not saying I'm anti-VAX, but I'm just not willing to give my dog vaccines that aren't required in a medical professional's opinion. Sorry, I trust my vet over bow wow bungalow. Using this service is the opposite of the convenience that a pet owner needs in quality pet care. read more

I took my pup Willie Nelson here for the first time today. I've never taken my dog to a daycare before, but I am leaving town next month for a couple days and I wanted to book a trial run to see how he did. I brought him in at noon, and the trainer took him back for an assessment to see how he did with the other dogs. They told me he did great, and that I had to leave him for a couple hours. I decided to run a bunch of errands and pick him up around 7. Being the helicopter mom I am, I kept watching him on the cameras which you can view online. The trainers were always in the yard with them and very attentive. There were so many pups! I just kept catching a dash of red fur dart across the yard, I knew it was my boy! My dog was POOOOOOPED. He was so dead tired and happy, I am ecstatic! I can't wait to board him here for a couple days, I feel so relieved already knowing he'll be in good hands. Thanks BWBB! read more

We just moved into the area and needed a new day for our 2 pups. When we went in for the initiation/evaluation process. They put one dog at a time into a space up against a fence with 25 barking and excited dogs jumping at the fence . Our female was very overwhelmed and showed her teeth. My wife and I cannot rave enough about the love, care, and friendliness we experienced for the 3 years we used Bow Wow Bungalow. We lived on the West Side but worked in Burbank, and would bring Penny with us twice a week to spend the day at Bow Wow. Penny's tail would start wagging as soon as we turned onto California St, and she would try to leap her tiny little body up onto the front desk to see her friends once we would enter the front room. We would watch her on the webcams sunning on the rocks, chasing other dogs, or playing with all of Bow Wow's friendly employees. The front desk employees were especially kind and friendly to us, alerting us to any abnormalities in Penny's behavior, letting us know when she was due for shots, and always taking the time to chat with us while waiting for Penny to be brought up front to go home. We only boarded Penny overnight once, but we never worried about her after years of knowing how much she loved it there and how diligent and caring all of Bow Wow's employees are. They even sent email updates that we could enjoy while on vacation. When the time came for us to move out of California, Bow Wow even gave Penny a generous going-away gift of toys and treats and a going-away party. EDITED ON 11/18/21: In the 5 weeks since I posted my review, I have been so impressed by how Bow Wow Bungalow has handled my situation professionally and responsibly. I spoke to the owner and several managers who listened to my concerns and were respectful. They reimbursed my vet bills and have informed me about new policies that are being put in place to improve Bow Wow Bungalow and bring it back to the good quality I was used to receiving here. For example, I learned there is a new vaccine policy in place to prevent the spread of Canine Flu/ Kennel Cough, new sanitation policies in place, and new training is being implemented for the staff. The owner has personally checked on Finlay's status at least 5 or 6 times since he was injured, and genuinely cares. I thought I would never be comfortable bringing my dog back, but after seeing the changes the owner has implemented I think Bow Wow Bungalow is going to be great again. read more

I gave this review 3 stars instead of 5 because they are very expansive in my opinion since they are charging as much as day care for children they should be training our pets and feeding them as they do with children day care. When we got our puppy, I immediately looked for daycare options for our high-energy, Husky mix. We adopted in December and a lot of places were full, due to holiday travel (extra dogs boarding at the time). But Bowow was huge and had space to do an evaluation right away. Bowie passed, and it became his favorite place to be. Bowie gets to hang out with his doggo friends and swim in the bone-shaped pool. And I love that I can watch him on the cameras. It's my favorite lunch-time show! The handlers keep an eye on the energy level of the pack at all times and let me know how he's doing at the end of every day. We love Bow Wow! read more

Don't come here unless you wanna be cancelled on and left having to miss things that you thought you'd be able to make it to. This place has cancelled on me numerous times due to having full capacity yet previously telling me I didn't need to make reservations. Then I make reservations and without any previous notice they have it labeled on their door that they're pausing doggy daycare. How convenient that when they tell me they can't take dogs is when I'm already there trying to drop her off. How about an email or a phone call or text message or any of the many forms of contacting clients to tell them about this so they can make other arrangements? This is the second time in just a week that this place has let me down, and I've just started coming here so needless to say I'm disappointed in this places consistency and have now had to miss work two times due to them. read more

My brother and I were so impressed with this place that both of us wished we were dogs who got to play here. First the setting: When you enter through the front entrance, the staff is right there to greet you, and a bowl of water is laid out for your companion. To your right is a waiting area where you can glance at the wall to look at photos of other dogs who have used the facility. In the middle of the room is a hall way leading to the Bungalow's store. One of the walls to the store is a window that looks out to one of the play areas. It's an indoor facility with astroturf, fake boulders for your companions to climb on, and a waterfall pouring into a small pond. At the top of the waterfall is a fake gorilla overlooking the whole area. As you continue on the tour, there's a space reserved for dogs to use to poo and/or pee. The place has real fire hydrants of different types cemented to the ground. The other large play area is a big backyard with a "river" that has a bridge running over it. There are small hills for dogs to climb over, and pipes for them to crawl through. There is also another indoor facility with couches and mattresses for the dogs to use when it gets too hot in the Valley. As for the kennels... they are clean and big. The staff keeps all their guests on a schedule that includes play time, resting, and eating (for boarders). I was especially happy to see that the handlers seemed genuinely comfortable and capable in addition to caring about their guests. Additionally, when I spoke to the owner, she told me that the general manager lives on the second floor with his son, so there is always somebody available to care for the dogs off-hours. Also, I overheard one of the employees say to another customer that on Sundays the BWB office is closed, but employees are still around taking care of their guests. Ultimately, my brother and I were confident that we were dropping Rufus off in good hands. It was our first time parting with him, so it was especially important to us that Rufus was in a place where he's not only safe and cared for, but also a place where he will have fun. Bow Wow Bungalow met all of our expectations. Also, the prices must have changed since Carissa gave her review because the rate for overnight boarding is $55 per night--a fair price considering what they have to offer. This place is great for daycare. I have an over active shitzu, by the time we are parked he is eager to go and play with his friends, I even have to drag him out of there. It is a lot of free play, so if your dog requires special attention I don't know if I would recommend, a lot of these bad reviews I feel like don't take into account the fact that your animal is around other dogs and they will be humped and unpredictable things happen in any daycare because they are animals at the end of the day. I can say, from observation, the handlers enjoy dogs and they're responsive to me and my dog comes home happy and passes out immediately. A blessing! and a free full day evaluation! They make sure the dogs are fully vaxxed too which not all daycares do. And it's family owned. read more

TERRIBLE. Took my dog for his intake and was told he was too aggressive yet my dog had his ear bitten by another dog. When trying to ask the staff questions on what happened, no one could say- the staff didn't see. Not surprised no one saw since it's overcrowded and they don't have enough staff to supervise dogs in separate areas. My dog goes to the off leash dog park regularly, with no issues. I have been taking my dog to Bow Wow for about 7 plus years. He loved being around other dogs and he was always tired when he came home. Last year around September my dog got kennel cough. Since that is only time my dog is around other dogs I have no doubt he got sick there. After being off for 1 month I took him back. The second day he was back, I received an email that my dog had been injured and to please call them. (I was at work and had not heard my phone ring). I was informed that another dog held him down and got him in the eye. They had taken him to an eye specialist. I asked them to notify me when he was back so that I could pick him up. My heart broke when I saw my dog. His eye was badly swollen and it was not focusing. He was also very doped up because of the pain. That first visit was $600. The second visit, a week later, I was informed that he was blind in the one eye. The vet said when he was brought in there was so much blood he could not see into the eye. The vet said it could be a detached retina, but at 13 years old I was not going to put my dog through a surgery that might not be successful. That visit was $250. I have to take my dog back in a few months and he needs to have a medication put in his eye every day $100 per small bottle. I contacted the other dog's owner. He said he was told no one saw what happened. That his dog was a medium size dog and her nails were a little to long. That she was also, i believe he said very playful. My dog is 13 years old and as the staff are well aware of the fact that Rufus doesn't play a lot. He is slowing down as he is no longer a frisky puppy. He has a few dogs that he plays with and likes to hang out with them. Unfortunately, I no longer trust Bow Wow or another facility to watch him. I am no longer able to travel as I have no one to watch my dog. Oh, Bow Wow and the other dog's owner have only said, "they are sorry" I'm going through this. No one, and I mean no I has taken responsibility for this injury. Just a note of caution if you take you dog there or any other facility. I never though that this would have happened at Bow Wow. read more

I love BWB! My little doggie would probably be content to stay home and sleep all day, but we like to socialize her and give her some more exercise a couple times a week, so Bow Wow is the perfect place for us. They run a special where you can bring your dog up to 2x a week for only $20 a day (reg. $35/day). So $20-40 a week for our dog to get some good playtime in is a great deal, and means we don't have to rush home at lunch time or after work to walk her. The registration process is pretty easy and you just have to bring your dog in for a short trial (call ahead because you can only come during certain times)-- they will then come back and let you know if she can stay. If so, your dog will get a free half day of daycare that day to continue to monitor and see how she plays and gets along with the other pooches. After that, you can come back as often as you want. They are open every day, weekdays until 9 pm, weekends until 8 pm. My only complaint would be that I wish they were open until 9 on the weekends as well. My husband and I like to go to Disney on Sundays sometimes and we have to rush back to get there by 8, but that's a minor complaint :-) We have boarded our dog here a few times and BWB was great. The kennels are large and open air, there are heaters and fans and beds (but bring your dog's bed from home to make her more comfortable) and they will send you daily pictures and you can call to check in on them. Boarding is $55/night and includes daycare and food (unless you bring your dog's food which is recommended if they eat a different type). Overall, our Minnie loves going to BWB and all of the handlers are so friendly. Sometimes she cries when we drop her off (like a child) but I see her trot off happily once we're out of sight. You can also watch on the webcams which is a great feature - fun and exciting to see your pup trot by or relaxing on one of the indoor/outdoor rocks. We have a new dog (Margot) and will be bringing her to Bow Wow very soon to expel some of her crazy energy! read more

I have really struggled to bring myself to write this review because I do believe that this place has a lot of nice and caring employees but I have been very conflicted with how they run their daycare services. Two years ago, we moved to this area and a lot of friends my husband and I made at work recommended Bow Wow Bungalow, so we set up an interview for our dog and he passed. Everything has been great until recently, so much so that I decided to write a review which I don't usually do and even had to create an account just to do this. I want to start by saying our dog has been happy here and when he gets home he's always exhausted- which is why we bring him since we both work full time. Like everyone else that's probably reading these reviews our dog is part of our family and he isn't just a pet. We moved here from the East Coast and knowing about the Southern California weather- we did a lot of 'research' on the potential dangers of heat stroke and so on. What attracted us to Bow Wow was the pools which only a few other daycares around this area have. But these past few weeks- it has been extremely hot on some days and at times humid. I've always watched the cameras when we drop him off at daycare and much to my surprise this past week during 90+ degree weather, my dog is in their outdoor 'park'. When we did the interview about two years ago we were sure to ask about the weather conditions and we were told that if it ever went above high 80s that they would use their indoor yard which has a pool as well- so we felt very content and satisfied with how our dog would be able to cool off during the summer months. They have what seems like two tarp like things up in the yard that provide two triangles of shade and some trees as well that provide some shade but with the amount of dogs that they have (which looks like a lot on camera if you've ever taken a look around noon time), it's definitely not enough for all dogs to share. I saw many dogs squishing together under the slivers of shade, others laying or sitting out in the sun panting. Sometimes they had the pool open, sometimes they did not...so how are they supposed to cool down? I usually watch on my lunch and have always been so happy to show my co-workers (with pets and without) how much fun our boy is having. But lately I've watched the temperatures get hotter and my boy and other dogs are still outside! Once at lunch someone mentioned that there were bulldogs in there that should not be outside in the heat. I'm not a bulldog owner so I'm not very sure about their care but it sounded very concerning. What really sent me on edge was when I got a call from Bow Wow saying that my dog had thrown up, maybe from an upset stomach, maybe from the HEAT. They said he does swim but maybe with the overexcitement of swimming and the heat combined, he threw up twice. They told me they put him inside for a break to cool off but aren't they supposed to be trained about the signs of heat distress? Especially if you're running a daycare in Southern California which is known for hot summers? Being that we have been going to Bow Wow for a while, we even considered getting fake grass like theirs in the yard as we have been trying to make our backyard drought friendly. When we inquired with different companies all of them told us about the upkeep of the grass but even warned us about hot summers. They said that if our dog is going to be mainly outdoors (which he is not but just in case) that we should spray down the grass with some water during the very hot days because the fake grass can get very hot, it's made of plastic components after all and isn't meant to self-cool. The whole week I sat and watched in hopes that things would change. I did see a few times someone in the park hosing down the grass but it was like once each day and briefly. They wouldn't switch to the indoor place until later in the day even when it was already over high 80s by noon. We haven't minded the price changes as our pup seems to really like the Bow Wow Bungalow but his safety and wellbeing is our main concern and for now I think we will be taking a break from here. We still have six of our co workers who use this service so we did let them know and they are all keeping an eye out for their dogs We hope to be back soon if we see things improving and hopefully with the winter months it will give us more peace of mind to leave our dog at this place. read more
