Cocktail from Variety Bar with a bendy straw
    Kendall D.

Had a delightful time all around at the market!! Only snapped photos of my cocktails from Variety Bar but I also devoured an order of fries from Saus (I don't need to tell you how tasty they were) and a trio of empanadas from Buenas. I wish the empanadas had been labeled or separated in some way because we just ended up having to guess which was which. Some might say this adds to the fun, others might disagree. The food ordering process worked out well, allowing us to order from any open restaurant within the market and have it delivered right to our table. The rest of the market was as memorable and interesting as the food and drink options, and for a relatively small space there was a large variety of different types of stores and items for sale. Parking was a pain so ideally don't try to drive there. Otherwise totally a fun time and a business I want to continue to support!

Went here to get dinner a few weeks back. It was unfortunately raining but there were covered seating outside and indoor seats in Variety Bar. We sat inside at Variety Bar and were able to order food from the different restaurants (although only drinks from Variety Bar were available) and they brought it to our table. The ambiance was great and staff super friendly. The food was good. We the koshari bowl from Koshari Mama and the poutine from Saus. It ended up being a vibe different from what we anticipated. I would probably say Bow Market would be best for beers/drinks with snacks and if you really want the food then just order takeout.

Came by this spot by a recommendation of a friend. The marketplace is located in a small nook that can easily be missed if you weren't looking for it. There's multiple options for food and shops. A little confusing at first as it was our first time but the hosts at the front were helpful with explaining what's in the area and what to expect. Most food places with seating allows you to bring in food from other spots in the market area. I totally recommend ski bar at the second floor. They had great unique cocktails! I got their version of an old fashion and it was one of the best I've had. Will totally come back another time to try other places!

Hip happening dining spot in Boston... Great outdoor dining area but you must have a reservation to be seated there. Lots of different dining choices - order at one and then find a spot to sit. If you arrive without a reservation you'll probably have luck with seating at the brewery. Walk through the brewery to find a larger outdoor courtyard buy some beer there and order food from one of the other locations and they will let you bring it in. Lots of fun and nice vibe good for all ages

I came to Bow Market for their Maccabee Bar for Hanukkah and it was a great experience. The walls were covered with wrapping paper and there were inflatable decorations. They had a fun drinks menu with interesting names, as well as a few traditional Hanukkah appetizers. My absolute favorite was the latkes - nice and crispy with a bunch of dill for seasoning. I hope they have the Maccabee Bar again next year!

Bow Market is a perfect little hidden oasis in Union Square. It's grown a ton in the past year that it's been open and it's only gotten better. The first floor is all food and drink options, ranging from a pizza/roast beef sandwich place (which is SO good) to empanadas to the vegetarious version of Saus (great vegan poutine). Remnant Brewery is a cute spot to hang out and catch up with friends - good beers and great coffee. Rebel Rebel is an excellent wine bar (options for different price points, super knowledgeable staff who can give recommendations based on your preferences, and cozy blankets for outdoor seating when it gets chilly). Upstairs is a comedy studio, cocktail bar, and a bunch of small businesses (record store, art supplies, handmade leather shoes, etc.) They often have themed events here which are a ton of fun, usually have live music. However, it can get crowded on those days! Lots of dogs and strollers as well. You shouldn't be surprised to have to wait in line for a short time to get in towards later afternoon hours. On a normal day though, it's a quiet little area to hang out around, chill with friends, or even do some work in the day! I highly recommend.

All trash and things around our "table"

They had "mixed" up names and gave away the seating for my party. We waited an hour to get seated at the fire pit. Then sat us by the fire pit for 20 minutes then had kicked us out of that area to finally sit us inside their garage/ storage area. Not sure if this is even legal but definitely not a way to treat any paying customers. We felt like we were beggars to dine in here or maybe it's because we were Asian. Shameful to seat anyone inside a storage area.

The market I think opened a couple of years ago. Last Sunday was my first time coming here, and I really liked the market. The restaurants and shops are nice and have a good diversity. In addition to the Americans, there are Nibble - a rotation of local restaurants, Egyptian, Korean, Filipino and other cuisines, plus the Remnant brewery and another bar on the second floor. I was also really impressed by how well the market managed to open the shops and restaurants, and keep the social distance and other safety measures. The little 'insulated' greenrooms are cute!

    Bow Market in January!

When Zoom won't do. A close friend is leaving the country permanently and so we figured we needed to send him off in person. What to do when in-door gatherings are unsafe and it's late January in Boston? Someone suggested Bow Market. What a gift! Bow Market is an outside food court, except nothing about it evokes the mashups of fast-food malls and burnt-coffee airports. This area -- like a piazza tucked in a cul-de-sac just off the main drag in Union Square -- is curated like a restaurant with twenty or so two- and four-tops arranged throughout along with large umbrellas for sun (one imagines this thing called "sun" in the dead of winter) or (as needed in our case) snow or other precipitation. Around the perimeter are a collection of food and drink offerings, all independent. I'm not sure what's usually open, but when we were there, we got beer and fries, hot mulled cider from Create Cocktails (!!!), and the best pizza in the history of the world at Hot Box.

Bow Market is a two floor motel style building lined with small shops surrounding a shared open patio tucked away just off of Somerville Avenue in Somerville. Shops each have their own hours, and sometimes they host pop-ups. I didn't have much time on this visit, so I'll have to come by again sometime, but I did pick up some pierogi from Jaju as a quick mini lunch. Parking is street parking, which I was fortunate to find without too much trouble within walking distance.

Bow Market is a nice neighborhood market that was quite recently opened in the past months in Union Square area. Unlike the rest if the neighborhood that this market is situated, Bow Market comes across as a hip, trendy place so worthy of cool people to hang out. The market itself isn't quite large, but does have a little bit of everything from food (coffee shops, breweries, macarons, pierogis, empanadas/pizzas, Korean and seafood popup, etc) along to crafts (cards, handmade shoes, soaps, magnets, clothing, etc). The vibe itself attracts late 20s to early 40s crowd and was very lively! There are tables outside to hang out when the weather is pleasant as well. Most of the shops dont have any seayings inside though, so I'm not sure if they'd be open during the winter at all (or if they do..not sure where you may be able to sit). They also do have stand-up comedy shows that open in the evening/at night. If you are in Somerville area, check this place out. You can browse the shops in less than an hour..or hang out with friends for a few hours or longer even! Note: it's a little bit of a walk from the T to this place, but when the upcoming new T station opens at Union Square...I'm sure this place will be so popular among nearby neighbors/visitors

    Firepit

I was recently here with a date, and we drank some beer and ate fries around the firepit. I honestly dont want this gem to be discovered so I can keep going and enjoy sitting around a firepit outdoors until the pandemic settles down, but I did have to write a review to rave about how great it was. Whether it is with friends or a date, give it a try. You will enjoy it.

I will say I was little surprised and disappointed. This is not at all like City Place in Doral (Miami) where I am from. There it is open air, large, beautiful and full of fun places and great restaurants to eat at. This City Place seems more like an indoor food court with the only restaurants I saw to be blaze pizza and the paragon of great Asian food P.F Chang's (lol). Still this is where I went on some great tours. If your visiting Boston, I would definitely check out the tours Grayline/Beantown has. One great thing besides the tour company at City Place is the life size statue of Edgar Allen Poe. Obviously a small man who cast a long shadow. If your wondering why is there a statue of him in Boston? Well, he was born there. Per the tour guide, it was funded by a limited edition Edgar Allen Poe bobble head... wish I could have known I would have bought it! I love Edgar Allen Poe ever since I read this poem of his in middle school that spoke to me: From childhood's hour I have not been As others were -- I have not seen As others saw -- I could not bring My passions from a common spring -- From the same source I have not taken My sorrow -- I could not awaken My heart to joy at the same tone -- And all I lov'd -- I lov'd alone -- Then -- in my childhood -- in the dawn Of a most stormy life -- was drawn From ev'ry depth of good and ill The mystery which binds me still -- From the torrent, or the fountain -- From the red cliff of the mountain -- From the sun that 'round me roll'd In its autumn tint of gold -- From the lightning in the sky As it pass'd me flying by -- From the thunder, and the storm -- And the cloud that took the form (When the rest of Heaven was blue) Of a demon in my view -- I loved the detail of the statue... the Tell-Tale Heart... the Raven... amazing! The statue was awesome. The tour company was great. The rest...uninspiring.
