I was promised a refund for the ticket given the grave miscommunication error on their end. In exchange I promised to update my comment and post on how they fairly amended the situation and their great partnership. WHAT A JOKE. They did not uphold their end at all, even after promising me this would happen. This further enraged me only further reinforced their disrespect of their customers. I am truly in shock they promised me this and then backed out YET AGAIN. Whatever you do, do NOT go here. They treat their customers like garbage. Go anywhere else.

They assured me they would wait for me and let me know how to get from the airport to their location as the shuttles were all closed and they would be closing in ten minutes. Finally got through customs and the hold up at the airport, took a cab and arrived at the store location at 5:30--thirty minutes AFTER they had already closed. Don't remember the girls names that stayed but they had the vehicle already pulled out and ready to go. They waited for me to arrive and pick up the vehicle and saved,e a fortune in cab fare as well as hassle the next day. I will definitely refer others to them as well as use their service again. They have arrangements with a hotel just north of the airport for early morning drop off as well. I received a free upgrade to a NICE new SUV that was awesome and greatly appreciated.

    The worst rental car experience I have ever had…read more We were scheduled to pick up two standard SUVs at 6pm after we arrived from our flight. Our flight was slightly delayed and so we did not end up making it over to the rental car counter until about 7pm. Once we made it to the counter, the lady estimated that it would be a twenty minute wait. We waited about 40 minutes and then went up and spoke to her because we started to talk to the people around us who were saying they had also been waiting over an hour on a car. When we talked to the lady at the desk she told us that someone had to go over to the other location to pick up our cars and that they were on the way. Another twenty minutes go by and we wait. We ask her again and she then says that she is unsure if we will be able to get our size of car that we reserved. She asks if we can accept another car. Unfortunately, even with the standard SUVs, it will be a tight squeeze, so we cannot switch. Also, she told us previously that the car was on the way? So this must have been a lie. In addition to the initial lie she told us that it would be 20 minutes until our car arrived (since everyone around us waited at least an hour and a half). Another 25 minutes go by. By this point, everyone in our group is cursing Enterprise's name and saying we will never rent from them again. We ask to talk to a manager. And magic! Somehow, five minutes later, when we go back to the back, the manager has gotten our cars ready and is waving our keys because he knows that he was about to deal with some very angry customers. I would also like to note that when we went to the back, there was a big tray of sushi and about 5 people sitting around, not working. Very confusing because the manager, when explaining why things took so long, told us that they were low staffed. But it just looks like the staff were too busy eating sushi to do their jobs, and the manager was fine with us waiting an hour and a half while he had plenty of staff sitting around. Avoid this location at all costs.

Also told that I could not go and get something to eat or even sit down and rest my feet because they would not even call or text me when a car was available And so had to stand there for two hours, close enough to hear them call my name and if somehow I missed them calling my name, then the car would go to the next person and I would have to wait another two hours. And they did not offer any kind of compensation for their failure to provide a car. This has happened before with this company at this location, never had a problem anywhere else with Budget car rental, issues are specific to this location and as they have done it before it seems certain they will do it again. And so will never rent from Budget at this location again, will gladly pay a little more money to another rental company at this airport.

However this is a *WARNING* for everyone booking with Budget in Calgary Airport. I actually booked through United who picked Budget for me. The estimated fair was ~$450 CAD quoted from united and was "to be paid at the desk at pick up." There is quite a walk (about 15 mins) but honestly I didn't mind it since its better than taking a shuttle like a lot of other airports and we're going to Banff where we'll be hiking anyways. Arrived to no line at all around 11AM and was immediately served. This is where things went wrong. *PLEASE BE AWARE OF THIS SCAM* I booked a midsized car and they asked me to use an older minivan which I didn't want. Eventually they were able to find the actual midsized car I booked but I didn't like them trying to take a car I didn't want. SECONDLY, I was very clear that I didn't want ANY insurance because my credit card will cover it and any purchase of insurance would actually void their coverage. I wanted only the pre-booked agreed base fee and that it is. The lady understood and asked me to sign a waiver that they pressure you to sign quickly in very small font on their hazy digital screen. She said and I quote "please sign here to waive your right to insurance and that you will be 100% liable for any accidents or damage to the car." She points right at the signature area to sign which I did (which was my mistake). *After reading the other reviews, I had the same pushy Asian lady.* The problem was that although she removed the insurance, she added on a ton of extra add ons including "Emergency sickness plan (cost more than the car itself), Road side assistance and loss damage waiver." All of this in total more than doubled the rental cost. I didn't notice until I returned the car 5 days later and when checking out they told me the final invoice. This is very deceiving and sneaky of the agent adding on the extra costs. This is NOT okay. The guy who received the car however gave me the e-mail of the manager who I promptly e-mailed and corrected the problem the next day hence not getting a 1 star review. I felt if they didn't try to scam me and add on additional fees, I would have given this location 5 stars but it's so dirty to try to hustle your customers. Please make sure you read the fine print, don't let them pressure you to sign right away and that the total is exactly what you expect it to be. It confused me due to the CAD and USD conversion so I initially thought it was just the conversion difference changing the price. Please don't let this happen to you. Very disappointed this would happen in a place like Canada.

Phone receptionist will direct you to 'Rentals' line once, and point you to carport 22 to wait for shuttle and will not pick up again if you call back to ask for status updates. We didn't know the wait would be 30 mins (note that their speed limit is like 30mph, which would've put this in perspective). Would've been ok if we were given an estimate. And it's under Driving Force/nü rentals sign. No Fox signage anywhere. But upon arriving, the shuttle ride was fine (~20 mins ride). At the office, a little bit of a wait (even first in line), not much of a greeting, everyone seemed busy. But that's fine (NYC girl, doesn't bother me). No issues on pick up, except the $500CAD security deposit fee seemed high. But that was refunded upon return, so that was also fine. Our pickup receipt was time stamped at 2:30pm but it also said return would be at 1pm, which kinda robbed us of 1.5 hrs. But whatever in grand scheme of things. The car drove well. No balancing or oil change or engine light issues. Was fuel efficient. Wasn't forced to upgrade. Same dude checked our car back in and was efficient. Fine by me. We made sure to wipe down our car, inside and out, before returning so as not to test the limits of any extra charges, as I've technically never rented from Driving Force before (but plenty from Fox). Overall a good experience. Minor bumps will be overlooked as long as I don't see any miscellaneous charges in the future from them for this rental.

    I'm not kidding. My…read morecoworkers and I have to move some big, heavy arsed objects on Sunday morning and have them delivered by 11am. Great, jumping over puke puddles in Downtown Calgary at 9am on a Sunday - thanks life. Anyways, what I learned this week was that most large truck rental companies close early on Saturdays. I asked one guy why that was, and he explained to me that traditionally, even truck rental guys like their weekends. Sassafrass...! So I booked a truck with Captain Sassy that my coworker was going to pick up at 10am on Saturday morning, as this place closed at 10:30. No prob bob! We all met up for breakfast at about 11, and she turns to me and says "I keep calling the truck rental place and no one is answering... weird..." and I looked at her and said "They aren't answering because it closes at 10:30" Translation - shooters. After laughing at each other for a good ten seconds, we decide it's time to find a truck. The first place I call is Ryder Truck Rentals and Rachid answers - how charming is he on the phone! Listened to my story, laughed at me when I accidentally said I didn't have a Driver's License and was more than happy to wait the extra 20 minutes (after they closed) until we got there to get the truck. He only had the biggest truck every built - like an 80,000 tonne truck, but he only charged us for a 2 tonne. Rachid - !!!! He teased us the whole time for our last minute booking and promised not to sell our phone number. He showed us how to use the lift, how to attach the ramp and backed the truck into the parking spot for us. He was so great - so great!! I would go back and rent from Rachid in a heart beat, literally. Even though there is a Budget Rent a Truck right across the street from me (no kidding). Now we need to find someone to drive the truck.

During COVID our business has pretty much shut down. We had 8 months left on a lease. There was no discussion for options . Struggle to get anyone from Sales on the phone. Now 2 months out from our end of lease and there is no consideration for early return . We have been great customers for over 8 years and it's terrible to see the difficulty we have had with the sales team and head office. I would not recommend Ryder for your rental or leasing needs.

    I rented a trailer today and returned it on time. The trailer was fine but pickup of the trailer…read morewas poor. The trailer was hooked to my hitch by the attendant but he did NOT explain that the 'release' tab on the hitch had to be pulled very hard to release the hitch so that it could be lifted off the ball. When returning the trailer (after the Blackfoot location was closed) and attempting to remove the hitch, I had a lot of difficulty. Finally my father drove down and helped me and with him pulling the release as hard as he could, I was able to easily lift it off the ball. It would have been much, much better if the attendant had demonstrated this when I picked up the trailer. As well, when I called the U-Haul Roadside Customer Service, they were totally useless. They were not able to give any advice and would say only that they would send someone out to help if I agreed to an immediate payment of $300.00!! And they call this "Customer Service"! Needless to say, I was not at all impressed and refused the charge. They then told me that if I damaged the hitch in any way while unhooking it, I would be liable for damages, even though I paid for full damage insurance when I rented the trailer. U-Haul equipment may be fine but their service is absolutely terrible.

The online store sold us the wrong size hitch and provided us no other options. It didn't fit our car and the staff took it back. The line up for service was super long. The 4x7 trailer was hooked up by Joe and he did his best, but our old car wiring wouldn't work. So he wired, unwired and installed and uninstalled the trailer. They even took the new smaller hitch back used. Then we rented a van, which was quick and easy. The price was decent and the van worked well. 5 stars to the staff at this place, 4 stars to uhaul in general for being reliable but missing the mark on things sometimes.
