I am always questionable about mechanics, I really needed help and I have gone through roughly 5 mechanics in the last few months for suspension, oil changes, mechanical issues and I have been trying to find the most sincere spot that is true to their work. I was in need of help for my car, called, easily scheduled a time that was convenient. They helped me make it affordable. I made sure to check and see if they would sneak some unnecessary maintenance, they passed wholeheartedly. They really just want to do business and have it be solid so they can sleep well at night. I will be using them more often. I only trust Bovan's when it comes to the major work that needs to be done on my car. First of all, the customer service is impeccable! The lady at the front desk is always so helpful and assuring! I brought my car here one time to repair a plastic air intake hose when I realized it was cracked. On another occasion, my car leaked all its CVT transmission fluid randomly one day when a bolt/screw came loose. Bovan's was able to diagnose the problem AND used the GENUINE Honda CVT fluid to refill and fix the issue. This place does not cut corners and is worth every dollar! I wanted to drop my car off because of an intermittent issue with the engine light coming on and off. Was told mechanic cannot look at the issue without the engine light on even though I provided what code comes up when the engine light comes on and what part it indicates as having a problem. Was told to come back once the engine light comes back on to do diagnostics which start at $195 and up!! That is ridiculous and any good mechanic should be able to at least take a look at the issue with a code already provided to determine what the problem may be without having to spend so much money on just diagnostics. The mechanic never even bothered to discuss this with me. It was thru the receptionist or assistant. Not bothering going back to this place. read more

I came here on a Friday afternoon for an oil change and tire rotation as well as wheel alignment check They honored the Groupon deal no questions asked and they had no equipment problems with the lift nor the alignment check. Only minor complaint I would have is the wait, I guess because its an early Friday afternoon there's only one mechanic working and few other cars before me when I got there. However the people there were friendly and helpful. Honestly if I live close by would be definitely coming back again. read more

I used to work in an auto shop back in my youth in the UK, so when I called and met up with Carlos at Bovans we spoke the same 'car language'. I explained the symptoms I was experiencing with my car and we agreed what 3 things it might be, had a quick look on the ramp and he explained what experiences he had with my type of car (Range Rover Sport) and what he thought it might be. This was kind of like an interview for me to see if he knew his stuff, and clearly he did, by the time I'd got home 50 minutes later he had already called me and confirmed it was wheel bearings. He had already found out the price of parts and shopped around for me to find the best price. I agreed for him to complete the work and the car was ready for pick up the following evening. The quality of work was exceptional, he charged the standard labour quoted by Landrover for doing this particular job, and was really helpful and kept calling me to keep me up-to-date and involved in the process. I will have no hesitation to go back to Bovans for all my work now, they totally live up to their motto of being a family run personal business that wants to win your business through good reputation, as far as I'm concerned they have met this in every way!!! What a joke! My car is old, and the oil and oil filter I like to use aren't available in a lot of oil change places, so, I usually buy my own oil filter and oil, and go to a shop and just pay for labor for the oil change That's how I've been doing it for years.  I was keen to try something nearer, as the two place I usually go to are a bit of drive, so I searched Yelp and saw this place. I read the reviews and was a bit suspicious as a number of the reviews were very brief and were from folks who had only written 1-2 reviews, but I wanted to give the place the benefit of the doubt. I called the shop. They wouldn't do an oil change using the filter and the oil I had already bought. When I asked why, they wouldn't give me a reason. When I asked if they had the oil filter for my car model/make, the lady I spoke with said they didn't know. When I asked if she could check, she said no, since she was busy. Whaaaat??? This place is a joke. Take your business somewhere else. read more

Honest and decent people. We found them a few months ago and they have done a very good job taking care of my car and my wife's car. The typical oil changes etc. have gone smoothly but recently he did a large job on my Toyota Avalon. The ride has been very rough and I needed some new tires so I went there and he took a look and found out that the suspension needed a few things including ball joints and bushings. He did the whole job and it was for less than I expected and the car runs great. He stayed way past his closing time on Saturday in order to finish the job for me. Very honest, fast, professional, local/family-owned place I highly recommend! I've been coming here for the last 3 years now, and every time I make a call, Suzette has always been so accommodating. When you're getting your car fixed, they keep you posted with a work flow email and email you a report of any broken parts with pictures! They would be very honest and will tell you what must be fixed. Bovan/Suzette also offer many special discounts/deals (I got my oil change for free for being a healthcare provider during COVID-19. Suzette also made a phone call and left a msg during the pandemic to check in on me. So nice of her!). Again, it's not the biggest shop, so they may not be able to get super complicated jobs done, but they give you very honest quotes and get your car all fixed in a timely manner.
