Effie is my new best friend. I have a 2010 Porsche Panamera, so I'm always facing the following dilemma. Because the car is 13 years old, things break here and there. However, most Indy mechanics refuse to work on my car because "it's too complicated". Every time I take it to the dealership, since the car is out of warranty, I have to sell an organ. 2002 Mercedes Benz C240 Out of warranty Highly recommend BCG Auto in Fort Lee Details: My Mom had been telling me to check out this garage for months for my 2002 C240 (out of warranty) and I am very glad I finally did. Honestly I had a trusted mechanic who specialized in older Benz's and I was skeptical that anyone could match up. Effie and team at BCG did that and more. INITIAL IMPRESSION Stopped by one day to have them look at car because something very loudly broke under carriage . They didn't find it but instead of just ignoring my car/dismissing me, they showed me where they looked and told me what else they found (work I knew I needed but had yet to get done). SERVICE & REPAIRS I needed regular servicing, too, so brought back car a couple of days later to do servicing and repairs and to do a more thorough check of what might have broken. They found it, fixed it, did service and repairs and had it back in a day and a half. PRICING Very reasonable pricing and because they showed me what they saw in terms of repair (meaning, when they had it on the lift), I could see they weren't making it up. CONTACTING it's a busy shop so call first if you need something urgently OR text Effie (owner) on cell 201-921-6223. Get gas from them, too, since they're part of the Getty station. CRITIQUES My only critiques are that they should clean the grease prints inside car before returning, feedback which Effie received very well. After pulling my car out of my parking spot after a huge snowstorm, I unfortunately noticed that my car had some type of fluid leak. At first, I thought it was the coolant that was leaking. Knowing that a leak can end up leading to costly repairs if not fixed soon, I had to find an auto shop to bring my car into quickly. Normally, I go to Mavis for my car maintenance, but my friend had told me great things about BCG Auto and said the service was outstanding, so I decided to bring my car there instead. Even though the store was going to be closing in a few hours, the owner said it was no problem and to bring my car in anyway. Within a few minutes, they were able to identify that the leakage was from the transmission and that a seal needed to be replaced. He said that it was good I noticed this early, as if all the fluid leaked out, I could have damaged the transmission. Additionally, they also noticed that my rear brakes were completely worn out, which was something that I did not realize or notice. Even Mavis, my usual car maintenance place, did not tell me about this when I brought my car in just a few months ago for an inspection. Within the next day, I got my car back with all of the necessary repairs completed. I am the kind of person that would rather spend the money now in order to maintain and keep the car operating normally than end up later with even more costly repairs due to negligence. For this, I am very grateful that BCG Auto was able to identify the issue and help me repair it quickly before it led to something bigger. All of the workers and the owner were super friendly. They took the time to physically show me what was wrong with the car and explained to me how certain parts in the car work. This assured me that they were honest and were not trying to rip me off (which some car service places do). I trust that the staff here take great care of the cars that they handle. They genuinely care about your best interests and are here to help you. I am super satisfied and very happy that I came here. Exceptional Auto Service Station I've been going to BCG Auto for years. Effie and his staff are expert mechanics on any type of car. Not only are they professional, they are quick to access the problem with your car, and reasonably priced. Effie is the kindhearted owner. He is as honest as the day as long (my grandma's expression). This business is very customer focused and super organized. When you drop off your car, they assess the issues and call you back with the price before proceeding. Amazing experience, you don't find mechanics and professionals like these at all these days. I live in Harrison but if I lived closer, I would make this my dedicated auto repair shop. I came in with a wire issue with my clutch and I was frantic because I literally turned on the car and went to double check up on the wire and it came completely off. So not only was I not able to start the car again if I stalled or turned off the car, it was a Saturday around 4:30pm. Not many auto repair shops are open around that time. Now imagine how many honest and sincere auto repair shops at that time also. I rolled in right away with my issue, they looked at the problem, diagnosed it, found a solution within a minute and fixed it within 15 minutes. I honestly didn't even look at the reviews, I just googled mapped where was the closest and what was even open at that time and man, did I get lucky. The owner didn't even let me pay for the trouble and that sincerity means a lot, especially nowadays when we're more divided than ever. I told my wife as I stood there that with things being automated and car companies trying to make things harder for local small business to do their job that it's a d@mn shame that things seem to be going more and more in that direction. We need to support our small local businesses. Especially the good ones, every single one builds the community, not the big companies/corporations. My 2015 Honda Fit was the victim of a hit and run, the driver side front fender had an 8 inch dent and paint scrape. BCG was recommended to me, so I gave Effie a call, brought my car in and he confidently quoted me a good price and a fast turn around time (better than any other estimate I had gotten from other local shops). He had the car back to me within three days and the damage was completely repaired. I especially appreciate that he had the car washed and detailed before returning it to me. My 2018 Honda Civic was scratched, it "looked" really bad, I went to Fort Lee Auto Body for an estimate and they gave me a quote for $2100. I got recommended to Effie while I was getting my oil changed at Mavis. He came over, took one look at it and fixed the scratches in less than 5 minutes. Wow - don't even hesitate to get your car fixed here. I failed a state inspection elsewhere (not NY or NJ) and came in to get a tire replaced and a light housing fixed. I contacted Effie via his number on google maps and he immediately got back to me. I sent pictures of what I needed to get fixed (texted it to him after he sent me a message) and he gave me an honest and EXCEEDINGLY reasonable quote immediately. He arranged to get the needed parts within the hour. Literally from the time I contacted him, dropped off the car, and got my light housing replaced, tire replaced was a total of about 2.5 hours. I would have spent a week waiting for mercedes to do the same and they would have charged me significantly more. Effie and his crew are all very professional, kind, and hard working. They even fixed an unsightly scratch which I had incurred while in the city. All in all I can't say enough good things about these guys - I highly recommend getting your car fixed.
