I usually hate bringing my car to a new mechanic for the fear of them upselling me on stuff I dont need. However, BCG auto was great. I came in with no appointment they checked my issue right away. Miguel explained everything to me and gave me a really fair price and once I agreed they had my car ready to go in a couple of hours. I would highly recommend this place and I will be coming back if I have any car issues read more

Effie and team are highly responsive, kind and fair. I visited them for first time today-- took my car right away and serviced it within 2 hours despite having a long lineup of other priorities. Good value too! read more

highly recommend going to any shop but this one. Work was poorly performed on more than one occasion. Owner will tell you he will make it right but then just stops responding to phone calls. read more

Effie is amazing! He treats you like family and his staff are great too. I am always taken care of when I come here.

these guys couldn't fix my flat tire because i was missing the tire lock. pretty terrible They really couldn't find any other way. my only option was to drive the car with a total flat. This Effie guy was rude to me in the process, mouths off to me about moving my car. all these other reviews praising this guy but he's disrespectful and rude and seemingly treats his workers like crap. Avoid these people. Don't even get gas there...just use the gas station down a few blocks. read more

My car engine & traction light was on for months, went to a mechanic in ny 5x the problem never got fixed until I came to this place. Huge thank you to the owner he really helped me out and went above and beyond with the service. My car came back to me in better condition than ever, he invested in my car to make sure the job was done proper, not to mention that he even updated my inspection sticker for free!! I read on fort lee FB someone recommending this place & I second that ! Exceptional service!! read more

Effie is my new best friend. I have a 2010 Porsche Panamera, so I'm always facing the following dilemma. Because the car is 13 years old, things break here and there. However, most Indy mechanics refuse to work on my car because "it's too complicated". Every time I take it to the dealership, since the car is out of warranty, I have to sell an organ. I contacted Effie because of the 375 five-star reviews. I was VERY IMPRESSED. He is friendly, professional, and most importantly, he listens to his customers. And his prices? I got to keep both my kidneys. The best! He is a true artist to his craft. I finally found the right mechanic for my car. Highly recommend! read more

2002 Mercedes Benz C240 Out of warranty Highly recommend BCG Auto in Fort Lee Details: My Mom had been telling me to check out this garage for months for my 2002 C240 (out of warranty) and I am very glad I finally did. Honestly I had a trusted mechanic who specialized in older Benz's and I was skeptical that anyone could match up. Effie and team at BCG did that and more. INITIAL IMPRESSION Stopped by one day to have them look at car because something very loudly broke under carriage . They didn't find it but instead of just ignoring my car/dismissing me, they showed me where they looked and told me what else they found (work I knew I needed but had yet to get done). SERVICE & REPAIRS I needed regular servicing, too, so brought back car a couple of days later to do servicing and repairs and to do a more thorough check of what might have broken. They found it, fixed it, did service and repairs and had it back in a day and a half. PRICING Very reasonable pricing and because they showed me what they saw in terms of repair (meaning, when they had it on the lift), I could see they weren't making it up. CONTACTING it's a busy shop so call first if you need something urgently OR text Effie (owner) on cell 201-921-6223. Get gas from them, too, since they're part of the Getty station. CRITIQUES My only critiques are that they should clean the grease prints inside car before returning, feedback which Effie received very well. Don't forget to ask for the invoice if you like to keep track of that stuff like me. Clearly neither was horrible because I give them 5 stars and will go back. Plus my Mom goes to him, too. I will be back and recommend them highly! DOGGIES AROUND :)! Also, 2 small & adorable dogs on premises often just in case you don't like dogs... read more

Effie...one in a million. Truly. Feel extremely fortunate to have found him. Have recommended him to several others who share my thoughts.

After pulling my car out of my parking spot after a huge snowstorm, I unfortunately noticed that my car had some type of fluid leak. At first, I thought it was the coolant that was leaking. Knowing that a leak can end up leading to costly repairs if not fixed soon, I had to find an auto shop to bring my car into quickly. Normally, I go to Mavis for my car maintenance, but my friend had told me great things about BCG Auto and said the service was outstanding, so I decided to bring my car there instead. Even though the store was going to be closing in a few hours, the owner said it was no problem and to bring my car in anyway. Within a few minutes, they were able to identify that the leakage was from the transmission and that a seal needed to be replaced. He said that it was good I noticed this early, as if all the fluid leaked out, I could have damaged the transmission. Additionally, they also noticed that my rear brakes were completely worn out, which was something that I did not realize or notice. Even Mavis, my usual car maintenance place, did not tell me about this when I brought my car in just a few months ago for an inspection. Within the next day, I got my car back with all of the necessary repairs completed. I am the kind of person that would rather spend the money now in order to maintain and keep the car operating normally than end up later with even more costly repairs due to negligence. For this, I am very grateful that BCG Auto was able to identify the issue and help me repair it quickly before it led to something bigger. All of the workers and the owner were super friendly. They took the time to physically show me what was wrong with the car and explained to me how certain parts in the car work. This assured me that they were honest and were not trying to rip me off (which some car service places do). I trust that the staff here take great care of the cars that they handle. They genuinely care about your best interests and are here to help you. I am super satisfied and very happy that I came here. I will definitely be returning more in the future for all of my car maintenance and repairs. I highly recommend BCG Auto and their staff! You won't be disappointed. read more

Exceptional Auto Service Station I've been going to BCG Auto for years. Effie and his staff are expert mechanics on any type of car. Not only are they professional, they are quick to access the problem with your car, and reasonably priced. Effie is the kindhearted owner. He is as honest as the day as long (my grandma's expression). This business is very customer focused and super organized. When you drop off your car, they assess the issues and call you back with the price before proceeding. Effie and his staff go above and beyond to make the customer happy and your car driving like new. I was lucky the day I found this mechanic, and you will feel lucky to get your car serviced there. Effie has a heart of gold. I give 5 stars to this business. I would give more if I could. My dad was a mechanic, and I can tell you that Effie knows his stuff. He is a genius at fixing cars. read more

This is a hidden gem mechanic that doesn't scam you for unneeded repairs. Talks to you with respect and the most hard working staff!!! I used to work on my own cars but I had to give that up for an apartment life. Being a woman, I always felt like mechanics were patronizing me. At this place, they listen and give their thoughts on what needs to be done without the bothered behavior. I am so thankful my neighbor recommended them cuz they are truly a great Indie shop worth checking out. read more

Amazing experience, you don't find mechanics and professionals like these at all these days. I live in Harrison but if I lived closer, I would make this my dedicated auto repair shop. I came in with a wire issue with my clutch and I was frantic because I literally turned on the car and went to double check up on the wire and it came completely off. So not only was I not able to start the car again if I stalled or turned off the car, it was a Saturday around 4:30pm. Not many auto repair shops are open around that time. Now imagine how many honest and sincere auto repair shops at that time also. I rolled in right away with my issue, they looked at the problem, diagnosed it, found a solution within a minute and fixed it within 15 minutes. I honestly didn't even look at the reviews, I just googled mapped where was the closest and what was even open at that time and man, did I get lucky. The owner didn't even let me pay for the trouble and that sincerity means a lot, especially nowadays when we're more divided than ever. I told my wife as I stood there that with things being automated and car companies trying to make things harder for local small business to do their job that it's a d@mn shame that things seem to be going more and more in that direction. We need to support our small local businesses. Especially the good ones, every single one builds the community, not the big companies/corporations. Thank you for the help and I'll remember to pass on your service to my friends that do live in the area. read more

By far the best mechanic Ive ever had. If you're local, he will come get your car and drop it off. The most honest and genuine person, I know Im in good hamds. Thank you for fixing my jeep several times. B read more

My 2015 Honda Fit was the victim of a hit and run, the driver side front fender had an 8 inch dent and paint scrape. BCG was recommended to me, so I gave Effie a call, brought my car in and he confidently quoted me a good price and a fast turn around time (better than any other estimate I had gotten from other local shops). He had the car back to me within three days and the damage was completely repaired. I especially appreciate that he had the car washed and detailed before returning it to me. I've had body work done where the shops have left all kinds of work grime on my vehicle. Extra care was taken to make sure that I got it back in optimal condition. If you're in Bergen County and you need body work done at a good price and with great turn around time, BCG Auto is your place! A+ read more

I can't say enough good things about Effie and his staff at BCG. My car overheated and broke down on the GW bridge and they took such amazing care of me from the moment I called. Effie met me at my car with coolant to get me to the shop so I didn't need to be towed and fixed the problem quickly. I also got to play with his adorable dogs while waiting for the repair. I highly recommend, he is incredibly kind and honest and goes above and beyond. read more

My 2018 Honda Civic was scratched, it "looked" really bad, I went to Fort Lee Auto Body for an estimate and they gave me a quote for $2100. I got recommended to Effie while I was getting my oil changed at Mavis. He came over, took one look at it and fixed the scratches in less than 5 minutes. The paint looks great and he didn't even charge me for it! This is definitely going to be my place to go for anything I might need in the future. Go here for anything you might need, I'm confident they will give you a good honest price and do good work! Thank you so much Effie!!! read more

Wow - don't even hesitate to get your car fixed here. I failed a state inspection elsewhere (not NY or NJ) and came in to get a tire replaced and a light housing fixed. I contacted Effie via his number on google maps and he immediately got back to me. I sent pictures of what I needed to get fixed (texted it to him after he sent me a message) and he gave me an honest and EXCEEDINGLY reasonable quote immediately. He arranged to get the needed parts within the hour. Literally from the time I contacted him, dropped off the car, and got my light housing replaced, tire replaced was a total of about 2.5 hours. I would have spent a week waiting for mercedes to do the same and they would have charged me significantly more. Effie and his crew are all very professional, kind, and hard working. They even fixed an unsightly scratch which I had incurred while in the city. All in all I can't say enough good things about these guys - I highly recommend getting your car fixed. I am typically apprehensive about non-mercedes mechanics, but Effie and his crew have changed my tune. Get your car fixed here - you won't be disappointed. read more
