Their materials were bad, the workmanship was bad, they only did some of the work I contracted for, and I had to threaten to take them to court before they offered a settlement. As part of the settlement, I had to sign a non-disclosure agreement, so I can't mention their name. Loftus was a wonderful company to do business with. I have used them twice and will use them again in the future. Jess was great to work with. This time, I had 3 rooms of new carpet, one repair where a dog had ripped up and shredded a seam, and a bunch of cleaning of existing carpets. The new carpet was high quality, and installed perfectly. The repair was so good that it is impossible to know that there was ever a problem. The cleaning turned out better than I expected. All of the workmen were super polite and did excellent work. You might save a few bucks with one of the national discounters, but in the end you will wish you had gone with someone like Loftus.

My credit card bill arrived the following month with the $50 charge from Jezard which I paid. Some months later I get my credit card bill with a $70 charge from Jezard. I called my credit card company to dispute the charge. 1 month later I get ANOTHER charge from Jezard for $45!! I decided to call Jezard to try and find out why they're unlawfully charging my card. I spoke with a guy named Scott (who is the owner according a Yelp reviewer) and he hung up on me. Lots of aggravation and still not resolved. Shady outfit if you ask me.

Our builder was there and I was away on business. My wife called me and I had to step out of a function to talk to this guy. I told him we would take care of the subfloor to meet his specs. I spoke to my contractor and within an hour we had a plan. The unprofessional behavior was uncalled for and in the end, when they came out to tile, the subfloor was perfect. The owner's attitude encouraged me to write this review…read more There is a lot to like. The sales people are pretty good and the product is pretty good. The price is probably middle to high. The office staff were good to work with, and the crew showed up on time. They were as good as I could hope. This was an important job to me, and they were helpful in many ways. They were all likable and friendly people until things went poorly. Then, it *was* done correctly, to spec, as you no doubt told them, and that is how it is just going to be, sir. (except they don't say sir). A couple of things to look out for. they use contractors, not employees to install the floor. more availability, less responsibility. they drop off the floor partly because they are not installing the floor, a contractor is. The quote was slightly padded. First check what needs to be done, there might be stuff on the quote that is just padding. Afterwards, check what was supposed to be done was done. Get another quote. So, you might go elsewhere. The front end is good, but the back end (final floor) is not ideal but probably an average job. An average floor might be good enough for you. It will have to be good enough for me. I will look down on this floor and Peck's work for a long time.

I originally wanted Trex cabinets, but the owner, David, talked me into a different brand. The drawers don't close all the way, so they stick out more than the cabinet door below. I was sorry I did not get the Trex. Then the kitchen faucet he recommended malfunctioned. He assured me that the LYNX company would send me a new one for free. Three months and many emails and phone calls later, I still don't have a faucet. I called LYNX directly, and they will gladly replace it as soon as I send proof of purchase. I asked Chatham Refinishing for a receipt that included the faucet, and I still haven't received it. This is the most frustrating company I have ever dealt with. Do not be fooled by the congenial demeanor of the owner, his mother, or anyone else there. It's a very expensive lesson to learn.
