This was the third year of the races and I will say I don't know if Millcreek Commons is the best location to host them as it was a bit cramped and unorganized. The food trucks were hard to find in the back of the venue and there was completely chaos from the lack of line organization. It was still a fun event for sure, and you can tell everyone was enjoying themselves!

Each winter Olympics, I watch in curiosity and wonder at the sport of curling. It's a strange event…read morethat I really don't understand, which just ignites the fire in me to learn how it works. So when a friend offered me the opportunity to join a group for a "learn to curl" workshop, I was all in! The ice rink is used for different things, but on the night of our class, it was fully dedicated to the group of people who showed up to learn to curl. The instructors were enthusiastic and skillful-making it fun for us to play along, even though we were mostly novices. It was surprisingly easy in theory, but more difficult in practice, just like all sports. With some practice, I could see myself really taking off with this one. (Kidding, it was fun, but nobody's going to be picking me for their curling team any time soon.) I'd definitely recommend getting a group of friends together to take this class. It's well worth the time and super fun-just wear layers and make sure you have good, thick socks and gloves. Duh. It's cold on the ice. And who knows, maybe you'll end up being discovered and land on the next Olympics.

They have a skating rink, small arcade, bounce houses and-my personal favorite-laser tag. Sure, it's older and smells like stinky socks, but you quickly forget that when you're running around with your buddies chomping on some Sysco pizza. Oh, the good old days.

My only complaint is the little kids on scooters going the wrong way. I wish they were more strict about everyone skating the right way, because we've had some kids knock us over and I got a nice goose egg from it. County Ice Center is where I first learned to ice skate when I was five years old. Since then, I've…read moreplayed youth hockey games here, gone to drop-in hockey sessions, participated in many high school hockey practices and games, and public skated here. I've also skated or played hockey at every indoor rink between Bountiful and Provo, and County Ice Rink remains one of my very favorites. The ice here is good quality, not too soft, but soft enough to cut into it with your edges. The staff does a fantastic job keeping the lobby and locker rooms clean. And if you're lucky enough to enjoy a hockey game or skating session when the windows shades over the hockey benches are drawn up, you'll have spectacular views of the Wasatch Mountains. Whether you're skating or watching, County Ice Rink is a great place to be!

I imagined landing a double axel while awe-inspired onlookers watched admiringly. Then I showed up, rented some skates and learned that it's a lot harder than it looks. Lucky for me, you can rent a little walker situation that will help you stay upright as you learn (armature tip-skip the walker thing if you're over 5 feet tall). If you go on a Sunday morning, it's not too crowded so you don't have to dodge people or get out of their way when they want to zoom by. You can book online to reserve your slot, complete your waivers ahead of time and then just show up and hit the ice. It's a fun activity, and I'm glad we have something like this nearby. After a few more visits, maybe I'll be as graceful and skilled as I had imagined. Maybe.

I love this park! Because it's a very well maintained park all year round. During the cold times of…read morethe year they have a section they turn into an ice rink that you can take friends and family to skate on. They also wrap the trees in Christmas lights for the cold seasons so it's very festive. During the summer time they turn the ice rink into a splash pad for kids to play in. They also have a good size park for kids to play on. They have bathrooms to use but I don't use them just because I'm not a fan of park bathrooms in general. I recommend avoiding the park during the times middle schoolers get out of school and are walking home because when I do my daily walks around the park I always see the middle schoolers harass people at the park while they are with their friends. Also if you plan to go to the splash pad it's really busy and it's a smaller splash pad it can get cramped. The park also doesn't have the best shade spots so bring your own shade like umbrellas, tents etc.
