Went here to go ice skating with my family. Turns out their indoor rink was closed on that day but they referred and guided us to check out the ice ribbon down the block. The customer service here was great! This was the second time we visited here. The first time was really busy when we came to watch an ice skating show. I appreciate the consistency in service from all the team members and how they are their to help ! read more

The facility itself is awesome with a number of fitness classes everyday. Even 90 mins yoga class on Sundays. Awesome instructors! Two spacious indoor swimming pools. And one outdoor not open in the winter. Jacuzzi, stem room, Water slides, rock climbing. Ice skating is in the same building but are not included in the membership. Rasonable price for family The only unpleasant thing is awful awful awful awful customer service. The shower water is not stable, cold and hot go back and forth. We complaint for several times, no response. Written complaints also filled out, no response. Called to complain (re another bad service issue), i request to talk to a manager. When I was talking to the manager half way into a sentence for less than 15 seconds, the manager basically said "no way!" and hung up the phone. Wow how rude! read more

We love all of the activities we have tried. The times are strange for kids activities but we tend to find something that will work. For example, Monday through Thursday swimming lessons in the summer. It's hard for my 3 year old to go daily. The facilities are clean and so far the staff are really nice. read more

This recreation center has been a blessing for Davis County. It has so many amenities, classes, and fun that you can count on. I actually have a recreation yearly membership and I enjoy it. Great factors: Fun pools (indoor and outdoor), slides, and lazy river for the kids. This is my favorite part about the recreation center. Locker rooms and family rooms. There is an indoor track and weight equipment. Free weights and fitness classes. There is an ice rink, as well as racquetball courts. Small rock wall for rock climbing. There is a basketball court. Here is the downfall. I wish there was more than one basketball full size basketball court. Lots of people like to play and it can be used some nights for the community leagues. I also wish there was a grass faux field for running and more areas to stretch, but everything works great. It is a reasonable price and a great area for everyone around. It's a decent city run recreation center overall. It is frustrating the pool closes everyday at 2pm for "swim team" even if the swim team isn't using it. So essentially they kick swimmers out at 2pm whether the team is there or not, no matter what. Knowing this, I should plan accordingly, but it doesn't make seeing an unoccupied pool when I could be using it any less frustrating. read more

In all honesty, I know it could just be that lady with bad managing skills and communication skills for yelling at guests, but we really thought this was going to be different experience the facilities is nice but don't expect help from Ashley the manager she will be rude and tell you to get out of the building and she's not helping no one once the place is closed . A great value with tons of features and ammenities. Some of the stuff: Multiple pools. Affordable child care. Steam room. High pressure showers. Spacious locker room. Indoor track. Cardin and weight equipment galore. Ice rink. Basketball courts. Racquetball courts. Equipment is modern and well-maintained. Wi-Fi is mostly strong and reliable. Most cardio machines have TV, workout programs, and USB charging built-in. The facility is huge and there's always a billion things going on so it can be confusing sometimes. You also lose much of the community vibe of a smaller facility, but gain some anonymity, which is fine in my book. Users are a huge mix from the intimidating hard body types, to senior citizens, the hopeful obese, handicap folks etc. I like the diversity here a lot, huge advantage over smaller gyms IMO. read more

Prices are low, but I can see why. 30 minutes for $15 gets you about five feet of water to receive instruction. Took my son here for a lesson and they shoehorned him in between lifeguard training and an ongoing pickup water basketball game. He was constantly getting splashed on and directed to not hit other people in the pool. The lessons are held in the main swimming pool with the giant water feature and water slides, so it was impossible for me to hear a word the instructor was saying to my son, and I'm betting the acoustics were no better for the instructor and student. Overall not impressed. Great place to play in the heated water, but DO NOT pay for "private" lessons here. read more

This is a great facility! But it tends to cater more to schools, groups, organizations, and anyone who pays for aspects of the facility at large. If you are a local citizen looking for lap swimming, don't count on any regular schedule. And don't count on the website to give you up-to-date information. It's even difficult to count on staff to give you accurate information. Many times I have called ahead of time to see if lap swimming was available and told it was. Upon arrival, all of a sudden it hasn't been available all day long. I have been turned away from lap swimming too many times to believe it's just by chance. It's poor organization, and lack of priority for general citizens. I have even spoken with the center director and other managers. Things never change. If you are a group, organization, or school, expect availability most anytime. If you are a regular citizen, you would be better off to find somewhere else. read more

I just got a membership at Gold's Gym in Bountiful because I can't stand working out here. The prices may be good, especially for families, but this is NOT a good place to work out. This place is so overcrowded all of the time, there are never any racquetball courts available and the weight room and cardio machines are always packed. The bathrooms are DISGUSTING. They are pretty far away from the workout area, closer to the pools, and are always soaked with water. It's impossible to change from your work clothes to gym clothes without getting your feet and socks wet. They smell horrible because of the constant moisture. They should really have a separate bathroom for those who are there not to swim. And the KIDS. This is the main reason I have stopped going here. Kids are everywhere, screaming, yelling. Running around soaking wet, getting water everywhere. Even though they "aren't allowed" upstairs in the weight area, that doesn't stop them. So this place may be a dream to a family who only wants to use the pools/ice skating. It's a nightmare to the childless adult who wants to use the gym equipment. So just beware. read more

If you are serious about your own personal fitness, go to a real gym. The staff isn't that friendly either - but I can't really blame them since they are monitoring children running amuck. The pools are great - very spacious. Locker rooms are just ok - pretty wet and mucky. The group fitness classes are awesome! Good equipment and fun! Cardio machines aren't too bad. This place is very affordable - especially for families! The daycare isn't great. The employees don't interact with the kids. And it's expensive if you have more than one child. They should do a monthly pass plan or something to make it more affordable. The outdoor pool is great! The Rec Center does some great events for holidays and fun runs! read more

Went to the pool only!! We went for a visit with family and were supet impressed. Nice little splash area with ankle deep-water for the little ones or non swimmers. Sweet lazy river and basket ball shooting area pool for better swimmers.. plus an indoor waterslide and next to that a jacuzzi!! Outside is a huge splashpad and pirate ship with water activities and more to do for the little ones :-) Large changing rooms with lots of showers and a suit dryer (try it)- no more going home with a soaked swimsuit! I can't wait to become memebrs so we can enjoy the rest of the center!! read more

The rec center has treated us well for many years now. We come here to play, exercise, attend birthday parties, take classes etc. Two of the ankle biters have taken multiple swimming lessons here, each time with excellent teachers. It's a great deal, at less than $4 per lesson. We've also utilized their off-site soccer and tball programs, again with awesome results. The main drawbacks I have are with the cleanliness of the locker rooms. They are pretty nasty. Does that just come with the territory? I don't know but I absolutely hate using them. The changing stalls need something better than the thin curtain that exposes you if you even breathe on it. Other than that, you'll have a great time at this rec center. I recommend buying a punch pass if you come twice a month, but consider getting the full blown membership if you plan on coming more often than that. read more

Firt of so, this place is great! They're pool is great? Their ice is great? Their people are great... Well... Except for one. I have never had anything but a perfectly nice experience with any staff at the rec center until this evening. I brought my son in for his first ice skating lessons. We were both totally excited! However, that excitement was short lived. Upon lacing up, made his way into the ice? He was then completely ignored for three next five minutes while struggling in the mix of a bunch of skaters around him. Seeing this, I walked into the ice to support him where I was immediately told to "leave the ice now". I did as I was asked. Until I saw the same situation repeat itself. I walked back onto there ice as any normal parent would. I was then told, again, to leave the ice. This time I refused and to my surprise this older Asian lady threatened to call the police if I didn't do what she said. Clearly, this was not a situation I wanted to be involved in. My son took off his skates and we left. This was a totally unexpected disappointment. For years this rec center has been nothing but amazing. I hope they are able to fix this unfortunate staffing decision. read more

My family has been here twice. It's a well equipped facility, staffed well, and with helpful and friendly front desk employees. There's certainly plenty to do for the family at SDRC, and daycare is available throughout the week, though calling ahead to verify vacancy is wise. My 3 stars is mostly due to how well the facility is kept. For how many employees there are, the pool area and locker rooms can get yucky, and more often than not needs attention. Just today, the outside pool area had smashed food all over the concrete floor, some of which carried over inside through the hallway to the locker rooms. EW! Food + smashed + wetness = grossness. (Granted, I'm a neat freak, so take the latter paragraph as you will.) read more

I like the rec center. I know a lot of other reviewers were complaining about too many kids but I haven't really noticed it unless you're in the pool in the summer. I mostly use this place for swimming, and if I'm there early in the morning there aren't any kids there. Also if I swim on my lunch break during the school year (75% of the time) there aren't any kids. I don't know of any other gym close by where I can swim all year for this price, so I intend on renewing my membership every year. read more

Pool has a lot of rules. I mean a lot. No chairs on the grass, shower every time you go into the pool area (even if I'm not getting in the pool) if you venture out of pool area, re-shower is required. Not much shade at all. Whistles blow every 2 minutes. read more

Ok when did this place get so dirty?! The equipment is filthy and they need more fans. It is so hot in the workout area. The pools are clean so that is great. I also love love the yoga classes. Formerly known as the "Bubble," South Davis Rec Center in Bountiful has upgraded and is an awesome place for inexpensive family entertainment. I've only been in their swimming area, which features play areas for the kids, a large water slide and an Olympic pool as well. This is their indoor area. Outside, there is a splash pad and a small play area for the kids with slides and a pirate ship. I took my toddler here to play for a few hours and she loved it! Lots of families and children made the atmosphere fun and even party-esque. This is a nice place that doesn't cost much for good summer fun! read more

Pool review. It was our first time here today. It's pretty a great deal. $10 for three of us. 2 adults and a two-year-old. She was free. I'm not sure what else the $10 covered since all we were interested in was swimming. You're free to use the outdoor and the indoor pool. Even the big yellow slide. THAT was fun! I did notice they had a big lap pool, that may be included. I had a big problem with the cleanliness of the facility. The bathrooms and locker rooms were gnarly. I know everything is wet all the time, but ugh! When we were going from the outside pool to the indoor pool, the cement was blazing hot so we used the hallway inside. Thank goodness they have an alternative route, but I was shuddering and almost gagging at the slimy feeling under bare feet. I couldn't walk fast enough. I had to use the bathroom and the floors were wet, but smelled like urine. So understandably wet floors from swimmers, all of a sudden made me feel like I was walking puddles of pee. I'm not sure what it is about B-town residents and visitors, but there must be a no-flush pledge with the local "loggers" I wasn't made aware of. Every dang toilet had a surprise. They need to get full time employees just to flush after people. Last note, I'm a lake swimmer and it's been a while since I've ventured into a public pool, but I thought the water seemed very cloudy. I don't remember pools being cloudy. Yikes. I'm gong to really think of our experience today and decide if we'll spend some time there this summer. But if we find another facility that seems cleaner, I don't mind driving farther. read more

My whole family has a full pass here for how much you ask? Well let me expound upon this for you. golds will take you to the cleaners so you can work out with a bunch egotistical narcasists, Anytime is awesome if you want to just use weights or do cardio anytime you'd like (which is usually what i'm at the gym for so this has suited me very well. But South Davis has like 3 pools of which 2 are in doors. One in door pool has a huge slide my boy will go on about 40 times in 1 hour. the other pool has 3 diving boards going into 14ft of deep crystal clear water. Besides swimming, they have a great gym to workout, they have racquetball courts, playgrounds outside, a friggin ice skating rink that is also used for a Hockey League. For the price there is absolutely no gym in the valley that can compete especially that crappy rip off they call Gold's Gym. read more

The Rec Center is a staple if you live in South Davis County. It's great to take the family Swimming, Ice Scating. They have races and Triathlons. The rec center is definitely a family friendly environment. So if you are going to the gym and expect to not see kids, this is not the place. However, the staff is very friendly. The Spin, Aerobics, and Water Aerobics Classes are great. I only mark them down one star because the equipment, in particular the spin bikes, need to be replaced and updated. read more

The Rec Center is great for what it is, A COMMUNITY REC CENTER! I have spent time at the Rec Center at various times of the day. Early morning it is mostly adults with a few teens working on their basketball game. Late morning it is full of adults and seniors working out and a handful of tots taking swim lessons. After school and early evening it gets crazy with a ton of kids in a whole variety of lessons and programs. During the summer it is always crazy with kids; IT IS A COMMUNITY REC CENTER! Overall I think the South Davis Rec Center fulfills its mission to provide fitness opportunities to its local community ! If you don't like kids find a place to workout that doesn't cater to families. I personally workout at Gold's and take the kids to the Rec Center for almost everything else. There is no point in ripping on the place for being good at what it is. read more

Pool only review here, I haven't experienced any other part of this facility. I've been here twice now to swim with some friends, and on both visits I had a really fun time. The pool is pretty awesome. Outdoors, there is a shallow pool with a pirate ship. Indoors, there is a shallow kiddy pool with a water playground. There's also a lap pool and a lazy river. There is a big slide for kids of all ages, and it actually gets fast enough to get your heart pumping a bit! The kiddy pool, lap pool, lazy river, and slide outlet are all indoors, and they're all connected. There is a nice big jacuzzi indoors as well, which they actually keep open for an hour after the pool closes. (The pool usually closes at 9, jacuzzi at 10.) It's a nice way to relax and cap off a long swim. Depending on the time of day and what day it is, there can be lots of little kids here, but they mostly stick to the kiddy pool. Teens and young adults mostly hang out in the lap pool, where there's a basketball hoop. Lots of lifeguards walking around and keeping an eye on everyone. This is probably one of the safer places one can go to swim. The locker rooms are clean and well-equipped, the showers have soap and hot water. There's also a nifty little machine that dries off your swimsuit. Everything is included in the price of pool admission. The only qualm I have with this place is that the pool isn't very deep at any point. The lap pool is the deepest part and I don't believe it gets any deeper than five feet. For swimming, the cost is $5 per adult (I think kids' prices are cheaper). I feel like this place is worth every penny, and worth the drive out from Salt Lake City. read more

I really like this place. The recreation classes for children are really good. We have done soccer and junior jazz with them and had a great experience. They rely on volunteers to help coach their recreation classes, but it's a not a requirement for the parents to give of their time which is nice. Their summer camps are a lot of fun too! My kids did a mad scientist camp and learned a lot. It was pricy when compared to other summer camps, but the class size was small and the kids had more hands on activities. They also keep the facility clean and updated. There are a couple things I wish they would improve upon. One would be making the water warmer in the indoor swimming pool. We have actually had to leave from swimming at least ten times because the water was way too cold to enjoy. We also have driven over 30 minutes to a different recreation center which has the pool water much warmer so we can be guaranteed a nice swimming experience. I also wish they had a better daycare. I actually have a membership here but don't exercise here due to issues I had with a worker at the daycare. I brought my concerns up with the manager and got a refund for the daycare hours I had purchased. The daycare gets very expensive too for people that exercise daily. It's much more cost effective to exercise elsewhere if you require daycare needs. Overall though, I would give this place 4/5 stars. read more
