Visited this children's museum recently while exploring some cities north of us. Kids had a great…read moretime. Lots of different things to keep them busy including a big pirate ship, pulley chairs, art room, etc. I loved how they had some older telephones, switch boards, etc. so kids could actually experience some of these items not commonly used or seen today. It was fun to let them explore those and play with them. As a bilingual family, we appreciated how everything was presented in English/Spanish. I did feel like some of the displays were a little run down. Likewise the prices were steep, especially for adults. I really think since adult presence is required, it really shouldn't cost more than $3 per adult. Bathrooms were fairly clean. Place seemed stuck in the Covid era which I wasn't a fan of. Time to move on! This isn't the museum's fault but the day we went the kids there were a bit out of control and rude. That dampened our experience a little bit. They had a little area where families could sit and eat snacks. That was nice for taking a break, especially if you stay for a while. It was a fun one time excursion but I wouldn't return. We have a lot of fun places much closer to us that cost a lot less!

NO antibacterial/sanitizing wipes near yuck bins (or anywhere.) if someone is putting an item in the yuck bin, you can guarantee they need to wipe their hands. If you are going to make a mud kitchen sink and have a spigot with a pipe all set up, at least make sure it works! ! Running kids... they have 2 screens that I saw that said make sure to walk, but I can tell you they do nothing, hah! So be prepared for your little one to get run into, whacked, stepped on, etc. They don't remind anyone during check in to please walk. NO parking. They have a few spots and otherwise it's street parking. For pregnant moms, newly postpartum moms with their strollers and gear, grandparents with arthritis or bad hips etc....enjoy the hike!!!! Pros: Many different areas of play, and geared toward a wide range of ages. We drove from Fort Collins to go, and had fun. Though I wouldn't return with a 1 hr drive. Also wish it was a bit cheaper, but it's better than some of the really large museums. Tried to get a pass at the library but have to have a Lafayette address to get a museum pass, even though we have a Lafayette library card. COST was about $33 for 2 kids and 1 adult. All in all, if it was walkable distance we might go more, but for any kind of driving distance plan for it to be one and done visit :) there is a cute coffee shop next door which was nice.

Instead of giving into their frustration about lack of progress and hating messing with their bindings etc, I decided to book some open time at Shredder to work with them directly on the fundamentals. This was a perfect setting where they didn't need to worry about being bundled up, their gloves etc and could instead just focus on walking up the ramp, getting comfy with their bindings and working on leaf turns, heel stops, etc. The staff is very helpful and engaging and would squirt the artificial turf to help them go faster after they started to get better. A small complaint is we wish the ramp were longer as it's harder to combine multiple turns in a single run. This is a great place during spring / summer / fall for a quick review on the basics prior to heading to the slopes. They also offer camps, summer camps, seasonal lessons, etc. We brought our own gear but they have skis snow boards, boots and helmets available.

When the time did come to book her party, she decided she still really wanted to have her party here. I reached out via the form on the website and heard back super quickly with details on pricing and options, and just as quickly when I asked for availability for the specific day. We booked the party and made our deposit and leading up to the party had a lot of updates to throw at them including number of people, time in the party area, and add ons like ordering pizza. Each time their responses were prompt and incredibly helpful. On the day of the party Jared greeted me and gave me the full run down, and made sure all my questions were answered. We got set up and right at our party time they brought the kids on the floor for both guided activities and free play. They really made my daughter feel special by letting her lead the activities and even gave her a few special things to do, which she absolutely loved! All the kids in the party had an amazing time with coach Jared and coach Logan and we felt they were safe and taken care of the entire time. At the end of the party, every single parent came up to tell us how much they and their kid loved the party. Jared let us know we could leave anything we didn't want to take (extra food, decorations, etc) and they would clean it up. That was a huge bonus and made our life so much easier! Jared, Logan, and the party planning team made my daughter's birthday part so amazingly smooth and fun - I would not be surprised if she wants to come back next year and I would gladly do it all again!

So, I've been coming to the rec center for the aquatic classes for a few months. The classes…read morethemselves are fun. The instructors we have had are pretty energetic and dynamic. The problem is this. Every time I've been there, one of many of the group of older women that are in the class are horrendously and egregiously rude. If it were just one of them, it might not be such a big deal, but, they seem to take turns being nasty and rude. They belittle and bully my friend, who has a strong accent. They have told her (and the rest of the group that I usually go with) and I quote, "shut the 'frack' (only, not such a nice word) up" for having fun in the class. A class that is taking place in a large pool, with loud music, lots of echoey sounds, and lots of people making noise from moving around in the water. They also got one of the regulars kicked out for a couple of weeks, because she was talking with a friend during class. After having this happen EVERY time we have gone, I am never returning to the rec center. The rude people have won, they can keep their rec center to themselves. It's such a shame, because I really like the rec center. But, I will not stand by and watch others behave like people who were never taught manners, or taught how to ask politely for stuff. It's really uncalled for to be so nasty. Especially from people who I would have thought are old enough to know better.

I don't know the technical terms but the ones that allowed them to clip themselves in and come down when they were ready was amazing. They treated the kids like any other climbers, and they were absolute naturals. My husband and I just watched (supervised) in awe. We took a short dinner break across the street at John's restaurant and bar (AWESOME) and then they went back to climbing until almost 9pm. It was truly one of the best days we have ever had as a family. Oh and then they begged to go back the next day so we went (equally amazing!). Their confidence skyrocketed and they are well on their way to being lifelong climbers. The only issue was that any other gym we go to will pale in comparison to our experience here! Many walls are not that high nor are the gyms as friendly to kids. Really superior facility. Thank you to the whole team! We will definitely be back!

Front desk has been rly nice and said they will also confront them next time I see them. There's good setting for each grade, moon board, spray wall, hang boards, weight lifting, and yoga classes.
