My husband and I are from Louisiana and trying to keep skating alive! We bring our own Harlick Roller Skates made in California, USA. For the past 10+ years we have made it our goal to skate in each state! We love to JAM, slow walk, and couple dance skate on Adult Skate Night. I soon realized there is a skating rink open nearby. On Monday 7 PM- 9:30 PM is their Adult Night. The snack bar will be closed. However, you are allowed to bring your own food & drinks (No Alcohol). We had such a great time last night. The managers are very professional. Also, the DJ was amazing! Also, this is the only real hard wood floor in the Denver area. We enjoyed the smooth hard wood floor to dance skate on. I was not surprised the floor was exceptional for dancing. Though it was not a busy night though we still had a blast. This is the best spot to learn how to skate. The crew here is talented and amazing. The Denver area is my favorite place to skate in AMERICA.

A super cute blast from the past! This gem is my favorite rink in the Denver area. If you're far from Brighton, it's definitely worth the drive out! I visited Wagon Wheel to skate at one of their adult nights and it was so much fun. They have a wooden floor and really cool neon lights on the rink. The music was bumpin' and the party was jumpin'! The decor is an eclectic mix of 80s, 90s, 00s, mixed with a tiki bar and an Elk's club. You just have to see it for yourself, it's very cute! There is a snack bar that features pizza and other skating rink fare. You can rent out tables for parties, which I believe start at $25 (definitely call to confirm price). They also have an arcade area and a few cubbies to store your stuff. There are lockers that cost a few quarters if you really want to secure your things. Prices are great and they have multiple adult nights throughout the week. Check the website for more information on the different adult night themes!

We were looking for an alternate rink as the one closest to use, though busy, feels a bit run down. While I would say Wagon Wheel Skate Center has been around a lot longer, it feels... all around a better experience. For someone like myself, with beginner level mad skills, the environment is not intimidating. For my spawn, who has significantly more experience than I do, Wagon Wheel Skate Center offers her enough space to move around and practice new skills. There is a touch of jankieness, but that makes endearing.

The Wagon Wheel Skate Center is a little different than I remember skating rinks, but that might just be my faulty memory. The roller rink itself is a square shape and takes up about half the building. The other half is a cafeteria-like place, game room (including fast Ms. Pacman!), lockers and places to change out of your shoes and into your wheels. A group of us took their party bus up to the rink (which by the way seats about 40 and lets you drink on it) for a night of roller dolls and DKBC skating. The prices are really reasonable - I think skate rental is around $6. And after 10 the rink closed for us to have a private party. So it's nice to know you have that option with big enough groups. They still do all the fun games I remember playing as a kid - different versions of tag or dodgeball-esque games and of course the classic couple skate. It does seem kind of far away, but it's charm probably makes the drive worth it. If you know what you're doing on 4 wheels that is.

It's cute. Owners and management are fantastic. Bathrooms need renovation, don't seem up to building/privacy codes.

Ask the Community - Wagon Wheel Skate Center

What are the Dance Skates on Friday? Is this something some adults would enjoy for wholesome fun?

Do they have those things kids can hold on to for balance and push around if they're new to skating?

Yes, they do! They call them skating buddies. I think it's $2 or $3 an hour for rental.

I really appreciate how the rink is set up. The center is clearly marked off, which helps keep people practicing doing middle work from drifting into the main traffic flow. It makes the whole floor feel more organized and safer for everyone. The rink itself feels like it's on the larger side, so there's plenty of room to skate without feeling cramped. Adult nights are especially fun. They lean more into electro and dance music, which keeps the energy up. Pricing is reasonable, and I love seeing how they give back to the community. The last time I was there, they were collecting food donations for a local pantry, which says a lot about the kind of business they are. There's also a back room with video games and a smaller practice space that's separate from the main floor, which is a huge plus if you want to work on something. Around the rink, there's plenty of seating for breaks, with storage cubbies underneath, which is super convenient. Overall, it's a really solid rink with a great atmosphere and a strong sense of community. Definitely worth checking out, especially for adult night.

A group of six of us went on a Sunday afternoon, and it was crowded, but we didn't have to wait long to get our skates. The way it works is that the ice skating rink is free, but you have to pay to rent skates. If you own your own skates, then, the experience is completely free! To rent skates, you wait outside in front of a little booth and get a wrist and then go to the window next to that one and say which size you'd like. Despite the rink being crowded, the wait for skates was very short. Service was friendly and efficient. The skates weren't the highest quality, and they use ski boot like buckles rather than laces, but I can't complain given the convenience and price. The ice rink gets smoothed over/cleaned using a Zamboni every so often, and when that happens, you can stand by fire pit stands (I'm not sure what they're called?) or sit on the benches right outside the rink. We stayed for about an hour and a half to two hours and had a good time. This is a great activity for families and friends alike!
