Really thankful they got us in and fixed up. Some places you can feel like a burden when you show up nearing closing hours. Reasonable prices and friendly service. Everyone working was very friendly but the man who checked us in and out was very not only very knowledgeable about vehicles but customer service was on point. After service, I saw my car driven toward the front of the building, but no one returned with my key. When I went outside, my car was completely gone from the property. No one informed me that my vehicle would be taken off‑site. When I asked where my car was, I was told they "drive every vehicle around the block" after service. Later I was told the test drive requires reaching 60 mph--which is impossible "around the block," since the surrounding roads are 25-30 mph residential areas. My vehicle's energy‑consumption data showed three distinct spikes. The two largest spikes are my own, and both occurred when I merged onto the highway. These are the only two highway‑speed accelerations in the entire past 100 miles of driving. The third spike--on the far right--is the energy consumed during the Pep Boys test drive. It stands out clearly as an outlier, especially when compared to my 200‑mile and 100‑mile driving history, which shows that I do not accelerate aggressively or drive at high speeds. When I finally got my key back, I was told the service was "completed," meaning the vehicle had in fact been taken to speeds exceeding 60 mph--double the posted speed limits in that area. A tire rotation does not require a high‑speed test drive, and certainly not without notifying the customer. The lack of communication, the disappearance of my vehicle, the conflicting explanations, and the evidence of high‑speed driving were unacceptable. This location needs serious review of its policies and practices.

If I could give -5 stars, I would. Take my advice and stay as far away from this place as possible…read more A simple transmission repair took over 3 months. The transmission was never repaired. We kept getting told they were getting bad transmissions. That's because they came from junk yards. When we finally got our vehicle back, we barely got home. It was doing the same thing and worse. When we called all we got was bring it back. No way were we taking our vehicle back to this place. We took it to 2 other mechanics after we got it back and no one would touch it because of all the damage this place had caused. Things that never gave us problems suddenly didn't work. Wires were hanging out from under the hood and a computer which was supposedly replaced with a new one was a used computer. The bracket used to hold the computer was broken so the computer was just dangling in the air from wrong connections. There was suddenly a parasitic battery drain that couldn't be located. Never had that problem before. And there were countless bolts broken off leaving important parts to just rattle. We were charged $3000 BEFORE any work was done. We drained our savings and maxed out credit cards just to get rentals for doctor appointments and so forth. They have the gall after all this too take money from our bank account leaving us with nothing for the month. The payment to the finance company for the $3000 charge was $405! A month! We are senior citizens and we only get paid once a month. It was supposed to have been a 90 day. Same as cash but the finance company was told on the day that we dropped it off that we actually picked it up. We have documentation for everything that I have said. We have text messages and we have pictures. We have estimates from other places including the Honda dealership where we finally had to trade it in and now we have a car payment. So please do yourself a favor and stay away. Tell everybody that you know to stay away. And whatever you do, do not let them hold your phone or touch your phone because they will put a review under your name on their website giving themselves a five-star review. That is why they have a 4.9 or 4.8 rating because they're rating themselves. We have reported them to the DOA and we're not finished yet. We have so much documentation and all they have is a bill that we were given when we dropped the vehicle off. If we knew then what we know now, they would never have touched my toaster let alone our vehicle!

In my case, I have a 98 corolla that needed new engine mounts (some had been put on that were aftermarket but they were not the best). In the case of engine mounts, aftermarket is not always the way to go unless you can find something close to the original. They found it - and replaced the front mount - which eliminated most all of the vibrations when the car was idling. They also found a problem that another garage had missed in the axle. However, unlike some chain fix-it places, they don't go manufacturing issues or trying to pilfer you for problems that are not really significant issues. I probably could have gotten another 2,000 or more out of them but am taking a road trip to Maine next month. Anytime I had the slightest issue with my tires, the team at Discount Tire always took care of it at no cost to me. Such as replacing a tire, fixing rust around a rim that was allowing air to leak, etc. And the quick and easy air check is an appreciated amenity!
