The location was clean and the men working were very nice. They changed my oil and suggested a bulb change for my back upper light that was out. I went to another location prior and was told they couldnt. So they were able to change he light that I was thankful for. I also got a tire rotation that I had to go into a room and wait by the restrooms and that room was sooo cold it was nice!!! The restrooms were also clean. I definetly will be back to this location.

I went there because I generally prefer to deal with family-run operations. My Acura RDX needed a wheel alignment, which was a service I was told they provided there. I agreed to the alignment, bought two tires, and asked them about the "check engine" lights. The error codes are available on the dash display, so I did not really need to "diagnose" the problem. Many auto repair shops plug their diagnostic reader into your car at no charge, or you can buy an inexpensive OBD2 Scanner online or at a parts store and get the codes yourself. But I was assured that "sure, anyone can plug in a scanner, and you can get it done for free at other repair shops, but OUR mechanics are experts," etc. Because of a scheduling conflict, I needed to pick up my car sooner than expected, but was told that I could not -- because they send the car out for wheel alignment. They do not provide that service on the premises. So, I could have (and should have) gone directly to a tire and alignment shop and saved some money. The expert diagnosis of the results from the OBD scan for errors (free elsewhere) cost $149. I have before me a recommendation from the experts at DeLand Auto Fix to replace the fuse panel (cost $1,835.80) and run "programming" (cost $479.25). The total proposed repairs estimated at $2,315.05 That did not include $75.11 for the recommended "Clean Engine, Add Dye and Inspect" for a supposed "heavy buildup of oil in the engine bay," which was not readily visible to me. It turns out that the wire harness to the rear spoiler brake light was disconnected. Total cost to repair: $0. (If the experts at DeLand Auto Fix had bothered to do a routine online search, they would have learned that a $10 brake light switch is usually the culprit for the error code displayed.) So I wound up paying $479.25 for 2 tires and a lot of bad advice. If I were, say, a trusting young woman who knew nothing about cars or the wily ways of repair shops, I would have laid out about $2,500 more than that. I highly recommend avoiding DeLand Auto Fix.

Their quote was $4400 less than the dealer and they actually solved the problem. The dealer was trying to sell me on a problem that didn't even exist with my car. To make it even better, Tom's was quicker than promised and came in $100 less than what they quoted me. I will always use Tom's in the future for mechanic work. Great people and very trustworthy.

3,200 some dollars later, 800.00+ in rental fees and my car clutch still does not shift right. My clutch would not always work just goes to the floor, won't go into gear, won't come out of gear. Steering wheel now not aligned with wheels. Took it to another mechanic he said that the clutch master cylinder had not been replaced and I paid for a new one. The new mechanic looked up the parts and found a clutch, flywheel and pressure plate set for $490.00 I was told from Wallace they were giving me a good deal and no markup because they were a thousand dollars each, the flywheel and the clutch. SO, they made over 1,500 in just those two parts alone. I was still paying for the car, had to pay off the loan trade it in as I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS CAR. SO, in a matter of a couple weeks I paid the 3,200, 800.00 and then 2,500 to pay off the loan on top of the 4k as a down payment. I hope they had a good Christmas because I sure as heck did not. I used to trust this place 100% when Dad and Son ran it.********* I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS PLACE NOW. I DO NOT THINK ANY OF THE WALLACES DAD OR SON RUN THIS PLACE ANYMORE.
