Is anyone at this mall trained with professionalism, courtesy, and better yet, to know what their jobs entail? I do not often visit this mall, but when I do, it usually is not a "great" or "good" experience. It begins with the staff at some of the stores. Beginning with LOFT, where there is no communication that is considered professional in my eyes, do NOT dare make a purchase and try to return it the next day! You will be treated irrational. For example, you will not be asked the most common questions, "was there anything wrong with the item", "would you prefer to look for something else". It was, "I need to see to see your driver's license". I paid cash, and the refund was placed on top of the counter with a SLAM rather than in my hand like I gave to the cashier the day before. Next, DO NOT GO TO Regis Hair Salon located outside of Sears! By far, this was the worst experience I have experienced in my life!! I waited at least 5 minutes before someone appeared out of the back room. She looked half asleep and walked very tiredly. I actually greeted her! My children sat patiently as I asked her for a haircut for myself and my daughter. As she looked at me with this glare in her eyes, she asked "what do you want to do". I asked for my daughter to have a bob haircut and I needed to even out my pixie cut. She said, "okay, what does your daughter want?" SERIOUSLY! I just told her! I should have known right then and there to leave, but I was trying not to be rude! She asked my daughter to sit in the chair. I still stood there at the counter. The place was EMPTY. My son sat patiently waiting. Then she told me to come back where she was. As I stood watching her cape my daughter, not once did she give me her name, nor tell me what was going to be the next step for me. To make a long story short, the so-called hairdresser that attempted to cut my hair, was RUDE, and although I stated that I had a picture of what I would had described that I would like to have done, this other hairdresser said, "I don't need to see a picture"! My daughter's hairdresser never propped her up on a booster, although she is 9 years of age, she still needed to be propped up for a haircut. Then, I never asked her to blow dry my daughter's hair, I only asked for a CUT. So what happens, she had the dryer on high, and slightly burns the back of my daughter's neck which thankfully didn't penetrate her skin! Then my hairdresser starts to barely clip the back of my hair and says, "I can't cut your hair, it needs to grow out more." And I am quoting her in a polite manner! She was rude, cut me off when I spoke, treated me with no respect, and looked bothered by me asking for a specific cut! I don't know about anyone else, but my experience, and my children, have by far has left me to believe there is no such thing as a professional, courteous, friendly staff in these retail stores that I have visited. The employees at Boulevard Mall that I have encountered only complain about their personal lives, their jobs (that they should be thankful to have) and the fact that they are being asked for service! And they do it right it front of customers and potential customers. There needs to be an overhaul at this mall and training or I should say "re-training" is in order. Employees should be held accountable for their actions. I have been through tough times, and a job is a job, but don't treat customers this way, especially when children are present. I managed to keep my personal life out of professional life and thus, have trained students this. There is a separation of the two. To be more profitable, to build a positive reputation, it begins with your employees! read more
