I honestly love downtown Petaluma and its iconic turn of the century buildings and structure! All the amazing precision and craftsman shift and dedication that was put into these old-fashioned buildings is honestly breathtaking! Slightly to the edge of the outskirts of downtown Petaluma, is this queen little theater that surprisingly is very up-to-date!! Not only did it have an amazing surroundsound, but there were speakers that were updated in their old fashion, auditorium, and watching bad boys was great with the surroundsound!!! I was also pleasantly surprised that they had wine and beer on tap as well as a number of mini bottles from local Sonoma county wineries!! The mini bottles were a little pricey, but the fact that this theater offered them was very cute and had that local touch that I really liked!! The theater we sat and was very comfortable with leather seats and little tables that had an arm on them so you could swayed the table in and out as you sat down. Granted, I'm a little shorter than others, when I reclined in the chair I missed about 2 inches of the screen , but only towards the bottom and 'Bad Boys,' didn't have any so I was fine! Lol The bathroom for women was completely empty, but we were also seeing the last showing of the night and everything was automatic soap, paper, towel, and water dispensers so everything was very clean and well taken care of. I would not mind going back to the theater again, and probably trying something to eat. Since it was so late, I just had an apple cider beer which was delicious and tasted just like apple cider. read more

Saw the film Tuner today. Theater has upgraded seats, that's a positive. BUT--they still cannot properly project a film. Projection was slightly tilted to the left so text in that side of the screen and the subtitles appear out of view below the screen. Just saw The Odyssey on IMAX here and it was the worst theatre experience I've ever had. We had the top row seats and you couldn't see the bottom of the screen because there was a wall in front of us that was too tall. Bad design. The movie was extremely loud. Multiple people complained and the worker just shrugged his shoulders and said multiple people have complained about it but they couldn't turn it down. My ears are ringing like crazy... louder than metal concerts. Not only was the theatre experience terrible, but the concession situation was a joke. Super long lines. Came on a Saturday, around 1:30pm. There is only street parking available. I walked in the cinema and there wasn't a lot of people. I assume that most of them were already watching their movies. Once you enter, on the right were the bathrooms, on the left was the snack bar, and on the back wall was the ticket kiosk. The place is spacious and the bathrooms were clean. I was there for a private screening and we were directed to room3. The seats were big and comfy. There was a swing table top attached to the seat which I pulled out because I didn't need it. It is convenient if you have food. The seats were cushioned and you could also recline. It became a little chilly in there with the AC on but otherwise It was a pleasant experience. read more

My other issue is that I ordered a large popcorn and the menu clearly showed that it cost $11.50, but the cashier charged me $12.50, and when I pointed it out, he just shrugged and said the management should change the sign. First, yes they should change the sign. Second, they should honor the posted price. Third, the popcorn was stale and this was a Friday night. Really disappointing. read more

Long (15-20 minute) line for concessions, trash everywhere inside Theater 3 during our visit in mid-Feb of 2026.

We wanted a cozy, high quality movie theater to spend the 3+ hours watching the new Avatar movie at, and this was the perfect spot! Known as Boulevard or Cinema West, this spot in Petaluma seems old school from the outside but has clearly been refurbished inside. We purchased tickets online which was easy and got them printed at the front desk upon arrival. Tickets were $13/person for a Christmas Eve matinee. We grabbed a large popcorn ($8) and some trays for sharing and headed in. The main reason we chose this theater: reclining leather seats! And they definitely delivered. T was so comfy to put the feet up but still be able to see the screen fully, have a tray with drink holder, and really relax. The seats were spacious with great arm and headrests. Zero stars for how much I cried at the end of Avatar (still an awesome movie), but 5 stars for how comfy I was while watching it! read more

This was my first time seeing a movie here and it didn't leave a great first impression. The complex has many smaller theaters with smaller screens than what I feel is typical. My friend said it felt almost like a nice home theater system. My particular movie was in #13 which maybe had 3 rows of reclining seats but some seats head rests were in need of repair (see photo) which could be easily fixed by placing a flap of fabric over it .. the sound system was good and watching the film in a small theater was fine even from the back row .. but the torn head rest made me think that the place wasn't being properly maintained. Bathrooms were fine. I got lost trying to find my way out of the theater to use the bathroom because I forgot where the door was but that was on me. read more

I love that you can buy tickets online (Fandango) and select your seats ahead of time - you can do this at the ticket counter too! First time here and wow, ample parking on street and parking complex near by. Very reasonably priced beer and wine is a huge bonus. Friendly attentive staff! The seating is the best with automatic reclining seats with swivel tray tables! All theaters should be like this! read more

I bought a gift card for a niece and didn't realize until weeks later that I'd used an out dated email address. I contacted cinema west and after a few attempts, was called by Gabby and later Daphne, both of whom showed concern and commitment to helping to redirect the gift card. They also followed up with me several times, leaving voicemails and texts. I'm really happy that my niece's gift card was resent to her correct address and she is using it to see a movie this weekend. I've been coming here for years and I was surprised to see some of the bad reviews on here. Its always been clean, not to busy, and the seats, especially in the bigger theaters are massive and clean and comfortable. They have Dolby atmos in a few of there bigger theaters and it really elevates the experience for certain movies. I've had subpar audio in one of there smaller theaters. Concessions are good, bar is great, bathrooms and theaters are clean. Kinda think people should thing adjust their expectations when leaving negative reviews. There is going to be a longer wait on concessions at any theater before a big family movie. I would assume that keeping a movie theater in buisness must be pretty hard in this day and age and I'm just happy we have a great one in Petaluma. read more

Recliner seat was broken and pretty uncomfortable to sit in through the movie. I understand this type of thing happens and I'm more frustrated with the service after. We alerted both managers in hope of a refund on one ticket or comp one ticket, but after being asked to wait, and the. waiting for 20 minutes for her to verify the seat was broken, she declined any compensation just said no and sorry in a condescending way as if we were being unreasonable and sent us on our way. This is why people are deciding to watch movies from home more often these days and why these theaters are closing on such a large scale. My partner and I attend numerous films weekly, at various venues... I have never, in all of my many years of seeing films, been to a more filthy theatre than yours... the lobby was littered with popcorn and trash everywhere on the carpet... boxes of supplies were stacked and scattered about the lobby... mops, buckets and brooms left leaning against the walls... lines for concessions were long with only two employees helping guests, while other staff members were grouped about catching up with each others latest gossip... management certainly not taking their job seriously.... I guess they don't care - as Boulevard is the only game in town... certainly they would not succeed in a competitive market... thumbs down...!!! read more

This place should probably close and we should have a national professionally managed chain open a new theatre. I'm not exaggerating when I say 3 out of every four times there is some technical issue that require the audience to advise the employees that something isn't working. - lights don't go out at start of movie - no sound - sound way too loud ( and I like it loud) - movie doesn't start * - movie breaks in the middle and won't restart * As I write this I'm in theatre 14 and the previews played but they can't get the movie to start. They blamed the weather for interfering with the computer. And to add insult, to injury, I planned to have lunch here today and they aren't serving hot food because their only oven broke. Do better! We went to watch the new Jurassic Park movie. We bought the tickets ahead of time and our check in was very easy. They sell all the regular things you find at a theater but you can also buy alcohol here which is a nice added bonus. The seats here are the best because you can recline and it has a little tray so you can put the snack that you buy. It also has a drink holder on the side for whatever you decide to get to drink. It is very clean and the bathrooms are also very clean. Prices are reasonable. read more

I found it a nice local theater. It was not crowded. You can purchase the tickets beforehand or with automated ticketing at the door or in person. I got popcorn and soda. It shows wear and tear in places, yet it is not bad. I felt the fact that it was small and local with good service outweighed the wear and tear. The sound was good and the video was sharp. I was in town celebrating my girlfriend's birthday and I figured I would take her to see a movie. Unfortunatly, I lost my debit card in one of the theaters and I was sure it fell out of my jacket pocket when I went to sit down. I contacted the movie theater and Daphne reassured me that she was going to do her best to try and find it. Twenty minutes later, she called me back saying she had found my debit card under the seat. I was impressed with the stellar service and level of care she displayed. I felt she went above and beyond to not only address my concern but also to make sure she did everything she could to make sure I was taken care of. Job well done and thank you very much! read more

I took my family recently to see Inside out 2. We purchased our tickets on fandango (as we always do) thinking it would minimize our time waiting in line (as it always has). HOWEVER! Boulevard 14 no longer has a ticket counter, it has been replaced by an electrical screen (which one was out of service). You have to buy and scan tickets here on your own. They do not have anyone checking tickets and guiding you to your specific movie. They also made the concession stand the place to scan your fandango QR code to get your tickets as well. I waited 20min in the concession stand line, ready to buy my family of five 'The Works', but the line never moved so I went to the screen that became available and printed my tickets. I went out on three different occasions to the lobby to buy popcorn, drinks & candy, but all three times the line was as big as when the movie started and I didn't want to miss the movie that I paid for. Needless to say, it saved me quite a bit of money, but cost the theater and my families movie experience. I worked at a theater for a couple of years and have been going to theaters for decades... whoever came up with this ridiculous idea, it's the worst thing I've ever had to deal with at a movie theater. I truly enjoy attending the movies, especially with my family, but if this is how things are going to be for the foreseeable future, I'll stay home and stream movies on Netflix/Disney+/Etc... Please separate the ticket lines from the concession line or bring back the people in the front to scan peoples tickets they purchased online. read more

Terrible theater. All the employees there were very rude and disrespectful. Whispering to each other and pointing at the disabled. Why is this theater hiring children! They are disrespectful and bullies. I saw with my own eyes some employees laughing at someone who didn't have enough money to buy a popcorn. Corporate should be getting involved. I would not recommend hiring anyone who works here. Theater is nice and all but the environment is so horrible. I feel bad for customers. Do better corporate! I know people who work there who do their part and welcome everyone no matter race or disability. But from what I'm hearing and seeing is that corporate is not doing anything. I want to thank the management for calling me back about my previous complaint. I find the sound too loud and commented that I thought it might be dangerous for children. They are aware that the Dolby is very very loud and they are providing ear plugs for those who wish to have a little extra protection. I only deleted one star because I still think it's too loud, but I also think this is probably a problem with every theater that has the Dolby sound system. read more

They remodeled the theater so you have your own private chair. They recline and your feet go up. it was absolutely amazing! The theater was clean and popcorn fresh. When you buy your ticket you pick your seat ahead of time and all of the chairs are numbered. Looking forward to going back love the seats. read more

I miss the old cinemas the both of them (McDowell and N McDowell). This theater is small lobby and when I went to purchase ticketss the person working said "you won't be sitting with each other" is the happiest voice. No trying to get us to stay for the next showing no offering of a different movie to see. Didn't know the theater was reservations only. It was for a movie that had been out for over a month already. Customer service needs help. Maybe also some sort of sign that states the threaten is reserved seating ONLY. Had I known that before driving to Petaluma I would've saved the gas and time. read more

I came here on 9/25/24 to see The Substance in theater 8. It was t playing at 615. My husband asked (one of the like 7 people working behind the counter) to play the movie they said they would tell "her". Nothing. I went out after 25 minutes. They said the same thing. Nothing. My husband went to tell them again. Started playing at 654pm. No one offered anything. No vouchers etc. we had to call our sitter & tellher we'd be late & pay her extra. read more

I really like having a theater in downtown but this one needs to pay more attention to upkeep. I saw a movie today in theater 10 and there was a loud buzzing sound the entire time. I should have walked out. Sound quality is important to a film. This buzz was unacceptable. I told the staff and they said "oh yeah, there is a buzz." They knew about it and blew me off. They didn't seem to care. It is not worth going if your movie is in theater 10. read more
