When entering the center, there are many attendants who are very helpful and guide you to where you need to go for your seats. The concessions are very reasonably priced and you can even purchase a reusable cup that you can bring to other events. The whole center is very well kept and clean. The bathrooms are also very clean. I really appreciate that everything was smooth from parking, seating and even leaving the event. I will definitely be back for future shows.

But what really makes it special is the staff. They are incredible. There was no bad spot in the space and the variety of dining room chairs as seating was fun. I love how it was described as an entertainment space with a bar and not the other way around. Looking at the calendar there is a lot of diversity in performances. We will be back and look forward to where they will land after November.

This last time, we were offered blankets to either sit on or cover ourselves as the theatre was a little cool. What a nice surprise! We have never been disappointed by the productions. Talented actors, fun props (Mary Poppins was flying!) and a live orchestra tops it off!

This year I've seen a musical where the songs actually supported the plot and all actors were outstanding. Another play had moments of humor and deep sadness as the two leads navigated the difference between their dreams and their reality. And, last night, I attended a play based on air guitar competition -- which surprised me with the depth each character developed in between outrageous air guitar performances. Try it out! The new season begins in September -- and The California Theater on 7th Street offers a variety of comedy, musical and dance band options throughout the week when the plays are dark. It's amazing!

I have this secret rule of thumb: the quality of entertainment and food is inversely proportional to the distance one is from San Francisco. Left Edge is an exception. Sofie and I saw the production of "Bad Jews". The Left Edge mission statement: "We endeavor to thrill, challenge, and engage audiences with ideas that make us think more, laugh more, and feel more." - "Bad Jews" delivered on the mission statement. It was funny and provoking. The actors were carefully selected for their ability to portray New York Jews - so the main characters were from New York. I was impressed with the quality of acting. I was totally absorbed in the characters. From Santa Rosa, San Francisco productions include a long drive, difficulty of parking, hassle to fight for a place to eat and the long drive back. Left Edge has SF beat on all of these issues as it's located within the Luther Burbank Center (Formerly Wells Fargo Center) where parking is free and easy, no long drives and plenty of places to dine. If one enjoys live stage drama, Left Edge should be experienced. Tickets are about $25, seating is at one's choice and since the theatre is small, there are no bad seats. The SRJC Summer Repertory Theater is back and it is better than ever. Since the main auditorium is…read morestill under construction a temporary Pavilion has been built and it allows for terrific views of the performances. Its theater in the round so every seat is a great seat. The actors and actresses are all from leading Universities and Performing Arts Centers around the country and they have very high skill levels. The first of 3 Musicals was Bonnie and Clyde. We didn't how it would adapt to a Musical but don't worry, it was excellent. The lead roles of Bonnie and Clyde had really good singing voices as well as acting ability. We thoroughly enjoyed this first Musical. Coming up in the next few weeks are Mamma Mia and Pippin. Can't wait! Considering the quality of the performers the cost of the shows is an excellent value. Look for some of these kids in future shows on Broadway, they are that good!

Great set design including an older Nissan truck on stage! The venue is nice. Seats are staggered so you don't have a totally blocked view if someone sits in front of you. Only downside, was we (myself and mom who uses a cane) had seats reserved on the Mezzanine and got there only to find out there were steep stairs and no elevator. Went and spoke to the friendliest usher (wish I had asked her name) and she quickly found us seats on the main floor.

We have been to several of the plays over the years and each one had characters/performers that engulfed the room with their theatrical presence..Being so close to the stage is like being an active participant feeling the array of emotions and witnessing the unfolding of the script. Knowing some of the actors brings a whole different reality....seeing them in character so opposite of their normal personality you wonder if they have a multi personality disorders...Interesting to see the play with a room full of people and the actors act as if we did not exist and were watching through a one way mirror. All of them completely consumed with perfection for the roles being played...Being a one stage setup the change of scenes are limited but effective. To compliment the evening they have a well stocked bar of local wines, beverages and treats.....
