Rocking out to Brittney Slayes and her Melodic Metalcore band "Release The Archers."

The Phoenix Arises With "Unleash The Archers" SITREP So stoked that a band I've been recently following on Youtube videos was angling it's way through California. PETALUMA of all places to be precise - NOT L.A., NOT SF, NOT even Sacramento. So the day I first checked their touring schedule - the first in 2 years - I found out they were going to be at the nearest town to me on their tour, the VERY next night. You dam well can bet I grabbed the in expensive $20 ticket and vrooomed my way over there. THE SETUP The Phoenix Theatre is a beautiful older structure - similar in feel to the Tower Theatre, the Colonial Theatre and the Crest Theatre here in Sacramento. A multipurpose venue that can take on movies (like the snippets we started out with), full-concerts, and a stage that is large enough to handle theater productions. * ACOUSTICS - are great - the sound system elements didn't over power one another. No unnecessary reverb or echoing. Sound-dampening wall elements were present. * LIGHTS & VISUALS - with obviously modern equipment. The spotlight syncrhonization was on-point. * ROOMINESS - because there was space to breath begtween attendees. I even found a folding chair on top of a rising box so I had a sweet seat above from the side, midway back, lookiig over everyone's heads (as some of my video-work indicates. COVID I felt entirely safe with the Covid-Protocols that Phoenix had in place. = The entrance security checked everyone's vaccination cards; and, = Once inside, we remained masked. This was an enjoyable concert- going experience. THE LOWDOWN A great venue for awesome bands to come and show us what they got.

AFI's first return to the legendary Phoenix in 9 years!!!

This place is legendary. I think during the daytime it's a place for kids to hang out, but the rock shows here are to die for. It looks like shit, but you gotta know the stories about the shows at this place. I got to come here in January to see my favorite band AFI make their first return here in 9 years. Such a great spot for a great punk show that you won't find anywhere else around here. As the quoted description on their web site says, it is the "last legitimate rock venue in the North Bay." Great bands such as The Ramones, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Metallica, The Distillers, and Sublime have played great shows here.. Long live the "days of the phoenix"!!!!!

The Phoenix Theater holds a very special place in my heart. And have been coming here since I was 17. I am 33 now. I spent many of my raver girl days here holding glow sticks in my hand while I danced my ass off to Mars Mystery and Dyloot until 2 am. I raved here multiple times, over and over again from 2000-2003. I remember being packed in that place you can barley move. I remember seeing The Crystal Method here, the Ocean, Scrape the Earth and I'm even going back down there tonight to go see Skitzo. This place is very historic and so many HUGE names have played here. EVEN METALLICA!!!!!! Yes, its funky..... Yes, it is run down..... Yes, the bathrooms are out of a horror movie. No, there isnt any alcohol served here. (Volpee's has a full bar right across the street) Thats what makes this place to special and unique. It is catered to give teens a place to come hang out and skate indoors and let them be themselves.

This was a super fun venue to bring my 16 year old to see the band Stone Salad. There is no bar so I did not have to worry about alcohol and minors. The vibe was great. Kids were skateboarding in the theatre while bands played. The art (graffiti style ) was cool. We will be back!

Great local venue with history, charm, and good acoustics. Plus, some really good bands come to this small theater. This review is for the Young Liver, Flatliners, and Against Me! show. General Info No bar The floor is standing room only, but the balcony has open seating. No bar Street parking only No bar No in and out privileges Did I mention no bar? I know, I know, this is a safe place for kids. But there were so many teens getting drunk in the alley outside of the theater, you have to wonder if this policy really deters the behavior? They should get a liquor license and make some extra revenue! There are plenty of great places around the theater to drink before a show if you are of legal age. The venue is intimate, which is cool. The place needs a good scrub, but I guess that adds to the charm. Solid venue, well worth the drive.

    The phoenix at The Phoenix Theatre . . . very meta . . .

Interesting concert venue to say the very least, from the graffiti art decor, skateboard ramps on both sides of the audience space, rumors of the venue being haunted and the very young age of the average attendee (this place is under age friendly as they do not serve alcohol), I have not been disappointed. I have visited several times in recent months and the experience has always been thoroughly enjoyable. If you are looking for food before a show at the Phoenix or just happen to be in the area and are in the mood for Thai, try Thai Issan (check out my review) they are right down the street.

The acoustics are excellent and the set up is fun and intimate. I want to say the venue holds five or 600 people. It's always pretty easy to get in and find a space to sit or stand and the bar in front as you walk in is always hopping! The staff is friendly and the location is fantastic in downtown Petaluma. We recently paid $35 or so per ticket to see an outstanding country performance and I would highly recommend it to anyone whether it be date night or a small group of friends, you can't go wrong checking out a show at the Mystic Theater. Five stars for sure!

I arrived at eight and upon entering was greeted not by the reggaeton influenced tunes of The English Beat but blaring 80's music spun by a failed wedding DJ. Snippets of old tunes at ear shattering volume continued for an hour followed by a 30 minute turnover. When EB finally came on after 9:30 the acoustics were so bad I could barely understand the lyrics. Not sure if this was an equipment problem or mixer issue but, Blech. Here is summary of my issues: 1) if you say band starts at eight, band should start around 8. 2) use a local opening band to give up and coming artists exposure. 3) Play music at a reasonable volume, hearing loss is no joke! 4) Get the sound right so Fans can actually enjoy the concert. This is sad because The Mystic has real potential as a music venue but it can't succeed with smart management.

The environment is nice, so it was a good day to sit outside. We get seated by the host, who was very sweet. Our server was extremely rude, unkind and obviously in a rush to get us out of our table. Mind you- we didn't choose our table. Afterwards, we were ordering our drinks... and he wasn't paying attention at all and kept insisting my friend wanted a beer she clearly wasn't ordering. THEN, a different server came to bring our drinks. He was very sweet, and by accident he spilled a drink all over one of my friends. No big deal, he had 4 drinks on his tray, so we understood and told him it was fine. Our server then comes, and we asked if we could order our appetizers, and he rolled his eyes and asked rudely if we wanted to get our meals also. If it wasn't for his behavior, we would've liked to have tried the dinner options, but we decided to get our bill and leave. We didn't even notice if we got charged the spilled drink. We just wanted to pay & leave. The wings were pretty good, sad that an interaction like that can change an entire mood and setting in your night.

I made a reservation for 6pm on the deck as it had seatbacks and my husband has a bad back and can't sit on a picnic table. It's an elevated section above the beer garden, which that night had a singer with guitar. Service was pleasant though a little slow with drinks but they were pretty busy. We both had margaritas to start, which were $16 plus $3 for call brand so $19 each. Pretty good but not too strong. I then had the Hopmunk hefewisen beer which was only $8, much more reasonable. I had the Biergarten cheeseburger on a pretzel bun, cooked perfectly medium rare. Served with caramelized onions, bacon, smoked Gouda and a beer cheese, it was tasty but pretty messy! Cost was $23 plus I subbed a kale Caesar for $2 which was good but not worth the hype as a little dry. Husband had the grilled mole chicken with mole sauce and Spanish rice for $24. It was a large portion with two pieces of chicken and he enjoyed it. We then saw a show in the stone tavern next to the beer garden. It's an intimate venue with not a bad view in the house. We had seats because my husband is disabled so we're right in the front row. Otherwise it was standing only. Great acoustics and venue. The wings, however, were excellent and easily the best thing we ordered. The pickle fries were the miss for me -- house made, which sounded promising, but there was barely any actual pickle inside. This place is 5 stars for location and ambiance, service is 3.5 - 4.0, and the ownership needs to hear this, ordering outside from the little box off to the right, it was very disorganized and the lady bringing the food wasn't happy as the orders didn't have numbers or names associated but we were supposed to pick our table number to give them before our order, but standing in line to order, you can't read the tables numbers from that far away. They could easily fix that by handing out numbers with the orders or taking names they could call out. However... Today's review is for Mother's Day May 10, 2026, and without knowing there was a huge Mother's Day brunch (buffet only, $46/person) we showed up, my wife wanted to see the venue, we have 2 unmarried children and I was raving over the venue in the back, fake grass, the gazebo, the redwood trees, the outdoor bar, lots of room for catering tables, dance floor...but these folks were RUDE, and I don't know if they were offsite catering or ownership employee's but when we declined the buffet, I saw there were only 2 people at the bar, I asked if we could sit at the bar and have a drink? The yes came weirdly hesitantly, so we went to the bar, I know the bartender from previous visits and confirmed with him that the only food was the buffet, so I then took my wife just to walk back to view where the wedding venue would be, folks were eating but we merely went to the back doorways which were wide open to take a look, I made it thru but a lady in a black catering style outfit stopped my wife and said you CAN'T go back there, and another lady in a flowered dress who seemed to be the boss came scurrying towards me, and so I told her our situation that we just wanted a peek, we weren't going to steal a plate and eat, and told her that honestly they were treating us like we were trying to sneak around the metal detectors into a high priced concert, and that if this is how they treat people we were going to remove their property from our list of possible venues, as it was we were prepared to drop about $150 on food and beverages today, and they lost out on that, but maybe they don't need local business. There are lots of other places to go in the county, sorry Nicasio, you have lost a repeat customer, I will not be back.
