We visited on a Friday at about 4:20. I find it puzzling how almost every facet of our supper was unpleasant. This was easily our worst restaurant visit in 6 months, which I never would have anticipated based on other reviews. We entered at the same time as another party. There was no staff at all in the main dining room, and only 2-3 tables with people. We stood around about 2-3 minutes waiting for someone to welcome us. In hindsight, we should've taken this as a hint to leave. The ambience of the place wasn't pleasant. While we liked the soft rock music playing, it was so loud that we had a hard time talking--and it was that loud, even though the restaurant was almost empty. The tap menu was printed on dark purple paper that was very hard to read; my husband's side of the table was so dark, he had to use the flashlight mode on his phone to try to read the menu. It took about 10 minutes for anyone to come to our table. My husband ordered a beer; he intended to order another one, but service was so sporadic, he gave up. On our server's initial visit, I ordered a cider. I was told they were out. I asked for a different cider. That was also out of stock. I did not like the third cider option, so I stuck with water. My water was only refilled once. We ordered the cheese curds appetizer. We were told we could choose two different kinds of cheese, so we asked for regular cheddar and white cheddar. She even repeated this back to us. When the curds came out (and they technically were not curds, but cubes of cheese) they were white cheddar and pepper jack. I cannot do spice. My husband had to cut in half most of the remaining cubes so that he could eat the pepper jack ones and spare me the mouth of fire. After a very long wait, our food came out. My husband's burger had apparently sat under the heat lamp for a while, as the bottom bun was soggy. The fries were quite good, though. I had the Sweet Parmesan Salad without additional meat. It was very one-note. The dressing was supposed to include parmesan, but I was left wondering if there should've been parm on the greens as well--it sure would've made it a better salad. We finished eating and sat and sat. No one had ever taken our empty appetizer dishes so the table was quite cramped. There were many employees there, but since there still weren't many customers, they were mostly gabbing in small groups. Our server was nowhere in sight. Finally, another woman stopped to ask if we needed anything. We were able to get the check, pay, and go. We have no desire to ever return, that's for sure. read more

I like the outside seating. Seems they take care of their tap system. Too many places fail at this basic maintenance for a bar. Pleasantly surprised of the quality of the tap beer flavor. I avoid drafts at a lot of places because they don't take the time to clean regularly. Not sure why rating is so low on yelp. I was here two days in a row and good service and good food and beer. Welcome to Rochester!! This is the tenth in the franchise that covers MN/IA and has been open for just 4 weeks. This place rose to my top 5 burger places to go in Rochester. The service was questionable at first and it took several minutes to get a waitress but they made up for it with a complimentary appetizer, cheese curds. The cheese curds were actually a huge chunky of gooey white cheddar cheese. They were plentiful for the cost and had wonderful flavor. I opted for the Hickory Bacon Cheddar burger on a pretzel bun. WOW what a flavorful burger and the sweet BBQ was very good. The wait time once the order was placed was very reasonable considering the place was hopping! Still under covid19 restrictions the place was full, maintaining the 6ft distances and all the staff were wearing the masks (properly I might add) Wife ordered the chicken avocado and said it was very good. Both of us ordered the (included) French fries. They were good and may have been homemade, it was difficult to tell? Tasted fresh. They have a wide variety of sides but they get an additional $1.99 to up sale. The place had plenty of televisions with a wide variety of sports and even a music video channel as well as KTTC TV weather. The menu had many options which ensures a return visit from us, wings and pizza. This place was a solid 4.5 stars and once the minor service details are worked out will surely give Wild Bill's down the street a run for their money. read more

We've appreciated our previous visits to Boulder Tap House. There is plenty of parking in front of the restaurant located in the Miracle Mile Shopping Center. It's a very clean facility with friendly servers. I ordered a Bloody Mary with chase to start the meal. The drink was very good and spicy, just the way I like it. I ordered the sourdough burger with fries. The burger was good but the fries were the best. Better than McDonald's as my wife said. They serve you a very large portion of fries piping hot. When served I thought to myself there is no way I could eat all that. I ate all that! So delicious! Our server was the bartender and she was very personable and attentive. read more

I was with a client for work and while they were at a nearby appointment I stopped in to grab a bite to go. The service was super friendly and the place was clean, shiny and spotless. I went to the bar and the bartender gave me a menu and was very helpful in choosing what was good. I got a simple swiss bacon burger and they were kind enough to take my tree nut allergy into account. I swear this was the best damn burger I have had in my life. It tasted great and the best part was it didn't fall apart into a sticky mess when I added mayo. They did run out of plastic utensils but the bartender was kind enough to just give me actual metal silverware! I was like, alrighty then! First time here and first Yelp review in a very long time. Not sure why. I find there aren't many people yelping these days in this SE Mn - SW Wi area. I have found I love Toppers Pizza, the Pepperoni Popper. The crusts are great and hubs likes the "supreme". We get carryout. We also do a lot of Panera carryout and the local Chinese place. I was quite prolific yelping before I moved from Milwaukee two years ago. Anyhoo Lunch today: Wontons- these are filing, a bit greasy. Sauce too sweet. Emphasize very hot jalapeños! Originally ordered Onion Rings, but they are out of stock. Chicken Broccoli Pizza- too saucy, but not dripping. A bit salty, not enough broccoli and chicken I can't even see or taste. I went last weekend. The service was wonderful and we were helped right away. Food also came out quickly. We ordered the cheese curds as an appetizer, garlic parmesan wings, and spicy garlic wings. The cheese curds were so gooey and delicious! The cube shape was interesting as well. I also ordered a Reece's pieces milk shake which was absolutely 10/10. Very disappointing. The wings here are bad. Small, overcooked, and oily. I tried the Nashville Hot sauce. The bartender didn't know what Nashville Hot was, never had it. Supposedly it's their second hottest sauce. Awful. The only flavor was mild watery sweetness. No heat. Nothing. This place reminds me of an airport bar in a secondary city. Think El Paso, Omaha, or Boise. Except it's in a city, competing for local customers. No need to come back. read more

We love coming here. Everyone is cheerful and friendly and the food has always been good and reasonably priced. What I love most though is how everyone works together here to give the best customer service experience. If the bartender is busy someone else takes the order. If our glasses were getting empty the host (GM) or someone else filled them. I love the teamwork! At other places the staff would say "that's not my table". Something else that's becoming a pet peeve of mine in Rochester is restaurants overcharging for the subpar food they're serving, but here, you get what you pay for and more. I've wanted to try this place for a while so decided to order take out. My burger was delicious! Really loved that the bun didn't arrive soggy it stayed in a normal state the whole time. Sometimes when I order burgers by the time it gets to me the bun has disintegrated so you win points for that. The cheese curds were not at all what I expected. Really good, but I could do better with two of them or sharing. The house made cheese sauce, oh wow! So good! The house made chips were ok, I felt like they were just too greasy for me and didn't have much flavor but definitely a unique play on potato chips. Absolute worst service. They shouldn't be close to a hospital! After spending all day sitting in the ER, we just wanted to order food to pick up. From the moment I walked it and the waitress just pointed and said "Bar" to the very rude bartender who pretty much pointed to the bag and acted like I was putting him out asking for blue cheese with the wings, I can't imagine why anyone would want to stop in. So many better places around the hospital. Especially when sometimes just a friendly face is all you need, you won't get it here, at least with the staff working there tonight. read more

I paid extra for Parmesan fries and it regular fries with Parmesan cheese shredded over the top. It was mot melted so it fell off the fries when they were picked up. Selection was good and several items looked excellent. Unfortunately the food didn't live up to my expectations. While I understand I was with a large group, my fries were cold and the burger overcooked and dry. The taking of orders was slow and the food wasn't fast. The cheese "curds" were good, but not curds, which is ok. The potatoes were good (crispy for my taste but that's the way most people like them). We received the best service, which can be hard to find right now with many places being short-staffed.
