During the initial consult at my home, the Boulder Roofing rep said nothing to indicate that the entire job wouldn't be completed in one trip as the work to be completed was not extensive. On the day of the service, it became apparent that they were only prepared to do a partial fix that day. I was surprised when they said they would need to charge a minimum trip fee of $250 to come out and do the rest of the job, something that was not mentioned previously. read more

After dealing with one company that wanted 50% payment up front (illegal in Colorado), and another supposedly national roofing company that never even called back with a quote after coming to our house and inspecting it, Boulder Roofing was recommended to us by 3 different friends. They connected us with the contractors for the soffits and the gutters, coordinated the scheduling of each separate job, and everything went according to schedule. One of the rudest front line conversations I have had in a while. I was calling this company who was recommended to my by a very well known architect in Boulder. I needed to find some expertise in roof design /engineering to educate myself with an insurance claim and possible redesign and repair of a roof with ventilation issues. I started out asking if they had any design services, before I got the sentence out she interrupted me with NO...OVERTALKING ME to boot! I continued to ask about engineering to which she repeated her RUDE answer. Never even being interested in my problem, saying perhaps I am sorry we do not...or anything polite. We have dreaded getting our roof replaced for several years. It's a huge expense and very messy from what I've heard and seen in my neighborhood. Each of the 3 adjacent houses has been done multiple times since we've lived here. The only time ours was done was in a major remodel decades ago. What I found from research is that the labor is such a huge part of the cost that getting the longest lasting rated roof pays off in the long run and can better withstand our high winds and damaging hail in Boulder. So that's what we picked last time and again this time. And many insurance companies now give a premium reduction for these impact resistant roofs, like the GAF Timberline we chose. Picking a roofer took a lot of research, there are so many options. But Boulder Roofing is a local company, been around since the 80s I think and had a great reputation by local word of mouth. The price was actually a little better than I had expected, given the steepness of the roof itself and the grade of the yard around us and the tiny lot size, making access difficult. But from start to end, the staff handling the job were truly fantastic, skilled, pleasant and careful. They worked through from start to finish over several days, never leaving anything exposed to weather beyond the necessity of the actual work of getting the old stuff off and did what they knew they could cover in that timeframe. We felt safe every night when they left. Between the weather with storms in the afternoon, the hail damage emergencies across the county, they did get started a few days later than scheduled, but they kept in touch and got going and gave us the same priority consideration once they were able to get here. A much bigger deal than the 3 day delay up front. They left the yard cleaner than any of the jobs I'd seen around me, no litter blowing to any neighbor like I had repeatedly experienced from the surrounding jobs done by other companies. The team was a pleasure to have on the premises, even though we presented such a challenge for access. read more

Boulder Roofing replaced our roof in September, 2018. The owner, Clay, is a pleasure to work with, both in terms of educating the client and planning the job. The two people doing the work were very professional and courteous. They were careful and respectful of the property and did not take shortcuts in doing the job. They cleaned up every night before leaving, as well as at the end of the job. The building inspector who approved the job was very complimentary of the work. At first, the job looked really good. But its years later that you find out if the roofer did a good job or not. A few years after they did our roof, the skylight over the garage started to leak. We had a different roofing company check it out and they said the flashing was not done right. I called Boulder Roofing to see if they could come check it out, and I asked that if it was done incorrectly, that they cover the repair. They refused and said their warranty is for 2 years. I thought that was not a very good response. At lease come check it out. So, we had another company do it. Cost was about $400.00. read more

Terrible at follow up and returning calls. I think the work they finally did after the original quote and then repeated calls to them and emails to schedule work was done fine. They never called when they said they'd call. Did the original work through the contractor on my home and it's been fine. Would never recommend them for repairs because of the poor communication. read more
