I recently played a game at this facility and was very concerned about safety. The opposing team, despite being well ahead, played aggressively: shoving, yelling, and purposely fouling players. Several players weren't wearing shin guards, despite posted rules. A female player was hit hard in the head. She was visibly wobbly and holding her head, and although she said she was "OK," proper concussion protocol requires that any player with a head injury come out immediately. The game continued with no intervention, which was unsafe and unacceptable. I didn't have fun and regret spending my time here. I felt unsafe and unwelcome, and I will not be returning. Recreational sports should prioritize safety, enforce equipment rules, and ensure referees stop play when injuries occur. read more

Granddaughter's Fifth Birthday. Great indoor venue. Soccer but also giant inflated castle - two year old loved that (with adult). Great break room for the kids and adults, snacks and birthday goodies. Shelby and her crew were great also with the youngsters. I love that they have a facility like this out of the rain, out of the Sun, out of the snow if it's that time of year. Glad it was scheduled there and they did a great job for us. read more

I know people only post the really good and really ugly so here's my good! I actually played at BIS growing up and was an employee for years. Boulder indoor is committed to soccer. They have been in the business for what has to be close to 20 years now (I think it was established 2002). They have a fantastic facility (as it's not the same building as the review from like 2012 referred to). It is smaller that a mega warehouse but I enjoyed the size because I could see all the games and trainings from one location. What I thought was so funny were the reviews that listed all the issues. I feel like I could still fix these issues even though it's been years since I've been on that POS (pt of sale) system. Most of those are without a doubt front desk staff errors that occur when 50 families come in to get and pay for a player card for 18 hours straight. Not justifying, agreeing that there are minor kinks to work out but hoping you have some understanding that new employees are hired just so the kids can play, which is GRREAT and how it should be. The system (software not business) could be much easier to navigate and assign payments, refunds, and the like. But I know they solved every issue that came up while I was there with payments, double charges and the like! The kids I coached all loved playing there I had teams 5-18 years old enjoy it. Adult league is competitive, I agree with those who are worried about injuries as I have had my fair share and then some from individual challenges with certain players. I'll be honest my mistakes are forgetting my height and weight in coed when there are others 12-15" taller and in average at least 50+ pounds heavier than me and going into tackles like I'm their size. But I know it can be scary to think about an injury that might occur. The referees do get comfortable with their job. There needs to be a whole reset of the attitude of the players because when a ref does set the tone, 'everyone' complains (usually 75% of the regulars) about how they won't let them play. So it is an issue on both sides. I think they could really change the reffing and playing demeanor while coming back from the pandemic. I would say if you're comfortable having level headed conversations about what you felt unsafe with, the refs and owners do listen. I always talk to referees and try to do it calmly about some of the things I appreciated about their reffing and where I felt unsafe or if there was continuous unequal treatment of the teams. In general referees listen and will try to see what you saw, not when you leave a yelp review but actually advocate for the change! I've always seen the business work with complaints and try to change either how that situation was dealt with or how to change more dramatically. Overall this is a fantastic place run by soccer people who know business. Most other locations are not run by soccer people, and the knowledge of the game and feelings associated are shared by the owners and staff! Give it a chance, you might become a 18 year return player :) read more

Play at your own risk. This arena is fun and well structured for league play. I have played a few seasons and played at many different pitches in my life. They have a bar and video tape games which adds to the fun after each match. It is also set up well for your friends and "fans" to enjoy! My experience has been they don't necessarily encourage aggressive behavior but they don't always take steps to prevent it or punish players for foul play to prevent them from repeating their actions. I have expressed this concern to the owner based on his response I would defer to my opening statement in this review. I personally play this for fun, and prefer a game that doesn't involve a lot of pushing and cheap shots, mainly because of what injury does to my work. While overall I do enjoy this place when the inevitable aggressive behavior does start, I will probably sub myself out as I have seen first hand how they handle the situation and to me it is not worth the risk. read more

Team Managers Beware: Just a heads up if you are going to register a team to play at Boulder Indoor Soccer. Relative to Sports Stable and Sports Performance Center in Lafayette, BIS is a pretty disorganized and the staff behind the desk is not trained well on the POS, scheduling changes. Specifically, this is what we've run into: On Payments: - For the billing, they charged several of our families twice for the player's card. - They misquoted team rates. Even though they weren't responsible for this and didn't have a clue. I think this comes from wanting to be helpful but afraid to just say they don't know. - They incorrectly attributed two players from my team to other teams (so that this had to be untangled at the end of the season, since those player fees went to another team account). - They continue to charge my credit card even though the season is fully paid. To the point where I've had to report them to my credit card company as a fraudulent merchant. On Scheduling: - We've had three games this season rescheduled. One was fine, both teams were notified. One, BIS decided without letting folks know in a timely manner that they were rescheduling back. Anyway, of course, as the team manager, you're the one who has to take the heat from irate parents who show up only to find their children have missed a game. The last one they just rescheduled (I happened to glance at the website so I saw this). I'm not sure if they're going to contact me, but of course I'll call them to see what time our team really should show up. Anyway, while I like the indoor soccer facility. Truly, as a person who actually has job (beyond managing youth soccer), working with BIS is really time-consuming and you pretty much have to double check all their accounting/scheduling work. read more

I'm shocked to see that this facility only has 3 stars. I've played at Boulder Indoor for 7 years and I've always thought that it's one of the best indoor facilities in Colorado. I've had a few issues with payment before, but they were always resolved with no harm done. I've seen a few fights break out and I thought they were handled very well. I haven't really liked the reffing, but seriously, who does? Compared to other facilities this place is top notch. I've never felt so frustrated with them that I don't want to go back. In fact, I'm feeling that way about a different facility which is closer to me, and I'm so frustrated with them that I'm willing to make the drive to Boulder Indoor even though it's twice as far. Let me tell you all, it gets a LOT worse than what I've read on these other reviews. read more

While the teams and employees here are great, the facility is just awful. Small field, horrible AstroTurf, bad parking situation on a Saturday. I'd recommend paying less and going out to Westminster or Arvada because they have such better facilities. read more

Service at the bar is often below average. One blonde girl in particular acts like people ordering drinks is an inconvenience. When she's not being pestered with orders, she sits with her back to customers (off bar), texting, and watching the Kardashians. She's also rude to kids. As far as the soccer goes, it usually turns into a checking match since the refs don't keep the game in check. In the past three weeks, I've seen two near fights. But in the end, it is still nice to have local indoor soccer with a beer to follow the game. It just could be done better. read more

I literally just got finished with my husband's bump ball party here (we are a group of 30 year olds), and we had a total blast! The pricing is competitive, the ref they supplied seemed to enjoy his job and was light-hearted, and every employee interaction we had was great. My kids participated in Soccer Tots. When they got older, they did summer camps here. However, in summer 2016 I learned that camp entails an activity called "butts up." After a scrimmage, the members of the losing team stand in the goal and bend over to expose their rear ends to the members of the winning team, who kick soccer balls at the losers. My son said it hurt and was humiliating and weird. It seems like paddling or hazing to me. I do not want my son thinking it is normal to bend over and have his rear end abused by strangers. Upon inquiry, the owner responded that "the kids like butts up." We will not be going here again and I would not recommend it to anyone. read more
