***Fairweather coaching at its best!! ***…read more There are much better clubs. My son moved here from Storm when it got bought out by the Rapids, and I wish we would have stayed with the Rapids. He made their Academy team as a youngster and each year, his skills seemed to decline even on the competitive teams. Rarely did I see the coaches teaching and focusing on moves, how to cut the ball, how to properly show for the ball, etc. Some of these boys at the competitive U12 level still can't throw a ball in correctly. If your child is 'lucky' enough to get on one of the mid-level competitive teams, get ready for an unstable environment throughout the season, as your team becomes the 'feeder team' to the favored top teams. You will lose your best players who get to move up (DURING the season), and you'll then get the lower level players to replace them. The kids who are stuck in the middle end up with constant roster changes and the coaches get frustrated when suddenly a successful team is failing. Well, for one thing, they're disrupting the flow by moving players around during the season, and they're bringing on less experienced players and giving up the strong ones. A perfect storm for an unsuccessful season, brought on by sabotaging the hard work that has been done to create a team who works well together and communicates well. In the end it causes frustrating and unnecessary losses. If your child is one of the favorites or a stronger player, the coach will be supportive and great until perhaps your child starts having some barriers to playing well. They'll dump your kid like a hot potato and no longer invest in much, nor try to figure out a way to help your child get back on track. Whatever happened to coaches being a strong influence on kids and helping them to perhaps discover the source of the problem and motivate the child to improve during practices? It seems to be all about winning and your record, not developing the player as a whole, mastering the basic skills and then building on that.

One team was given a parent coach at the GA level, an unqualified parent coach who caused over half the team to leave the club. Many of the coaches were just lazy and didn't care about the players. There were also coaches who were fired and Broomfield did not have a sufficient plan to replace them! Some teams shared coaches where one team was clearly favorited and given a lot more time and effort. If you don't want excessively obvious favoritism, Broomfield is not the place. At this club your kid is just a dollar sign running around and they don't actually care about your player. Developmentally weak. Did not teach technical skills or soccer IQ. When it comes to recruiting this club is also very poor, while it may look like it has a lot of commits, the coaches rarely have contribution to that and it's a lot on the players. On the girls side they are apart of Girls Academy, but rarely actually participate in the Girls Academy community whether through representatives, (nonsoccer) events, or general culture. Doesn't treat referees or others with respect often and is overall a disrespectful program. Do not waste your time at this club! Go to Rush, Rapids or Real! They know how to develop players better and they have much better recruiting networks than Broomfield.
