We sat at the pool for some time, ironically while Brenna LeBlanc, supervisor walked past us several times, never saying a word. It was not until I complained and demanded a refund at the front desk that Brenna Le Blanc was called and mumbled some sad apologies before TURNING AND WALKING AWAY.

A warning to men who are thinking about joining the Epic HR location. Their advertising says "we…read morehave leagues for everyone". Actually, no they do not! Most of the league times are taken up for women's leagues. Nothing wrong with that IF they had the same for men. But the only men's leagues they have are 4.0 and 4.5 DUPR leagues. I joined specifically to be in a men's league at a reasonably close location. When there weren't any and I called about it they suggested I try the Littleton location because they didn't get enough participants for 3.0- 3.5 leagues. Well, I joined HR because it's convenient and I'm not interested in taking more time to drive a lot farther. Oh BTW, when I visited HR, they advertised a great special for a reduced rate. But went I tried to sign up, they said the rate was only good at the Littleton location. So let's review: they charged me more to join the HR location - but don't have leagues for me; then they told me to go to Littleton, but they wouldn't give me that price to join at HR. See anything wrong with this picture?? BUYER BEWARE!

The space is compact and looks like a parkour gym with a little bit of this and a little bit of that tucked away in every corner (even a fairly full-looking weights area in the front of the building outside of the parkour area). The other students looked like they were very comfortable in the space, and the other students in my (Chinese pole) class were very nice, and we played around together after our class, which was awesome! The instructor did a great job moving the class along and bringing everything up/down in difficulty depending on the individual student. I loved trying out this new apparatus in such an encouraging and judgment-free place. I'll be back next time I'm in town.

Since I was 11 years old, I've always wanted to do a backflip. Now that I'm 40, it seemed like a…read morelost dream. I bought one of these 30 day challenges online I thought would help me achieve a backflip, but it ended up teaching me the wrong stuff. Then someone recommended Apex to help me because they have drop-in classes and one-on-one coaching. Within four months, I finally got results! Here are my takeaways for success: * Come in with a goal. Pick a trick (or several). It motivates you to keep coming and helps you gauge your progress. * Do a monthly membership for at least three months. It gives you access to all their classes, which leads me to the next point.... * Take different classes. They do a LOT more than parkour, and I've yet to take a parkour class. They do aerial, handstand classes, tumbling, trampoline, tricking, and more. Taking other courses rounds out your training and helps your brain put all the pieces together. Most importantly, you get access to different coaches. I started with tricking, then tried a tumbling class with Anthony and everything came together. He's an incredible teacher who's great at demonstrating. But they all have unique teaching styles. Rob gives simple, clear instructions that work up to more complex tricks--with big results; Natatia has a great warmup and is vigilant to avoid injuries; and Bethel can spot mistakes others miss. It's important to find what works for you and every instructor is unique. * Consider private lessons. Ryan is a phenomenal coach, one of the absolute best I've ever met. I made more progress in one hour with him than months on my own. He's the perfect combination of supportive and challenging. HIGHLY recommend talking to him. * ASK QUESTIONS. Some reviews suggest people are unapproachable here. They aren't. They assume you are working on something unless you state otherwise. You'll understand why as soon as you land a trick and stimagine if everyone was interfering with your practice. Sometime you just need to do the work uninterrupted. * Finally, be gentle with yourself and your expectations. This is a lifestyle and progress moves at the pace your fingernails grow. Don't rush what's uncomfortable. It helps if you have other stuff to work on so your mind-body connection can rest. That's where learning happens.... Good luck to you and enjoy. Unfortunately, those hopes were quickly dashed when we were told we couldn't enter the pool because it was already "at capacity" based on the number of lifeguards on duty. Given the nearly empty parking lot, it seemed to be a staffing issue rather than the pool actually being crowded. Unfortunately, this is just one of several frustrating experiences we've had at this rec center. My 6-year-old's lips turn blue after spending more than about 20 minutes in the main pool because of how cold it is. The only area that is really appropriate for him to practice swimming is adult-only for the majority of the day, with only a very limited window for children--and during that window, we're now being told the pool is at capacity. We've also had multiple negative interactions with both front desk staff and lifeguards who have been unnecessarily rude and unhelpful. A previous reviewer made an assessment that I now completely agree with: if you're an older adult, this rec center may be a great fit, as the programming and pool schedules seem heavily geared toward adults. If you have a young family and are looking for a place to work out and swim with your children, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

The staff didn't notice when we came in, so when I asked at 30 min left she had to clammer around to get us setup. The paint bottle said tie dye and was watery and should have been used as such, not with paintbrushes or pipets like what we were handed. Everything ran and you see the result. She kindly dried them for us with a hairdryer by hand so I guess this is the real product. I expected cheap hats but they were adult sized and so flimsy I'm not even doing one cute picture in these. I'm disappointed in the service because she noticed our little girl was too small for gloves and said so but didn't offer alternatives and just said be careful it stains. We would have had a much better experience if she had recommended the slime instead. We were jealous of the other parents who she also neglected until last minute who obviously enjoyed an appropriately aged craft.
