This place is pretty nondescript. I drove right by thinking it was a warehouse, so keep your eye out. I visited sports oasis to check out the drop in volleyball on a Thursday afternoon. The place is crazy. How something thought of buying a warehouse and throwing in tons of sand, I'll never know. There's 7 courts here with great nets and lines and all that. The place is remarkably well heated, to the point where it was almost muggy. Inside it was probably 80, outside it was 30. There's a full bar with loads of tables; I'll assume that on Thursday and Friday late night drop-in the place is packed on the courts and in the bar. There are also chairs at each court WITH cupholders, so you can sit down and enjoy a game closeup. When I visited it wasn't very busy. There were maybe 20 people there in all and most were part of some team doing practice. That being said, I went during the holidays so I'd assume most of the time it's busier. They've got leagues as well, and it seems the leagues range from bums off the street who know nothing of volleyball strategy and just play for fun (like me) to hardcore volleyballer running some sort of 2-2-2 that a friend of mine was blabbering about. Give drop in a go. It's 5 bucks for 2 hours and at the very least you'll get a workout. I don't even like volleyball that much but I had a hell of a time.

Great sand volleyball center. Fun place to be, good selection of beers on tap, and pretty good grill selection!

My team can play volleyball in the sand, and we never have to deal with the weather because we play in doors.

Not as advertised. Not suitable for beginners. Awfully expensive. A bit disorganized…read more I received a lesson/fitting package as a gift. The gift giver was assured that the experience would be suitable for a beginner. Nope! Much of the lesson involved golf swing jargon that just isn't going to be understood by a beginner. Hey, if you know the difference between an open and closed shoulder in your backswing, or the difference between a strong and weak grip (hint: now I know it's nothing to do with how hard you grab the club), then you aren't a beginner, and GolfTec might work for you. Anyway, I stood open mouthed as my coach spewed utter jibberish at me. I stopped him early, and let him know I didn't understand the lingo. Didn't really help. Despite their claims, they really don't have a curriculum for beginners. Beginners need a bunch of instruction in set up and swing fundamentals that really don't benefit from GolfTec's (admittedly cool) elaborate video and computer swing tracking technology. Hey, I get that an advanced golfer, who swings consistently, might love the video breakdown looking for swing faults. A beginner is going to have enough self evident swing faults that this technology is overkill. It's like using a sledgehammer to push in a tack. And GolfTec is expensive. Anyone getting lessons on a weekly basis is definitely going to be paying GolfTec the equivalent of a car payment. Hey, I'm not saying it's not worth it. It's just that for beginners, there are cheaper and more efficient ways to learn the fundamentals. My friends who have had success with GolfTec are both far from beginner level, and are pretty indifferent to cost. If that describes you, great! You might love GolfTec. Me, not so much. Not as advertised.

Today I hit a ball 245 toward a group 300 away from me, they turned around screaming that I hit into them..? When we go to the next tee box two of them rushed me and repeatedly threatened me. THEN one swung his club at my head. This entire time the ranger was on the tee box next to us. He confirmed he saw him swing a club at my head. He asked me if I wanted to call the cops or "do you want to play golf" ? So basically saying stop complaining or I'm kicking you out. I told him I do want to call the cops and he refused, let them continue to play the round out(!?!) And made me sit out a hole??? Genuinely dumbstruck by the way this was handled. The fat old dude who was ranger shouldn't be a ranger he needs to be fired immediately. He was useless and was allowing insanely slow pace beside shaming me for being concerned about the dude who just attempted to assault me w a deadly weapon. Piss poor. The dude I talked to in the club house was fantastic about it. The real issue is the lazy useless ranger, the pace and the attempted murder on the tee box that I somehow got shamed for. keeping in mind that I DID NOT hit into them which can easily be corroborated by my round mates. I will not play here again. I started playing here 10 days ago and this is my 4th round, love the course and the guys working in the club house, even the practice area is great but if we're just letting felonies fly I'll go to one of the other thousand courses near the is one. PISS. POOR.
