It's between fast food & sit down. The ordering machine takes time to figure out & the food is assembled after you order it like a sit down place. Because you're dealing with a machine, tipping is actually no guilt optional.

We were hitting the shops hard and the crew was getting hangry. A quick stop at Boudin fit the bill. Joint was clean and staff were friendly. On a Saturday evening in mid May, my family and I had diner there. It's located next to Cheesecake Factory. No greeting, We ordered at the tablet. The half sandwich -chicken pesto and clam chowder bread soup of extra $1.00 for bread bowl 13.99. We were waiting on food and slow. The soup was thick and delicious and chicken pesto was good too. Plenty of tables and looked clean. Plenty of parking outside.

The service is very slow. First, we have been waiting here for over 30 minutes and we just ordered a clam chowder and Mac and cheese. Then, we see so many plates of food and nobody is serving the food.

$20 sandwich with close to no meat. First and last time I'll be popping in. So many better options in Marin. Workers were polite. Service was good. But that's not really why you order pickup.

I have to recognize that everyone was out shopping and the mall was crowded as was the restruant. It took 23 minutes for our burger and salad and an additional 7 minutes after that for our milkshakes to come. The kitchen and support staff were working hard. They did their best to keep the tables clean. My father liked his burger. He remembers when he worked for the boudin bakery in San Franciso briefly as a young man. He kept telling me how Boudin used a special mother for its sourdough. My salad was disappointing. I had an Asian Chicken salad. The cucumbers were bad. They looked like they had been frozen, all watery and translucent. The chicken was sliced paper thin. There wasn't much of it. There was a lot of mixed greens and a good handful of red bell pepper. The salad was very dry. There was a little dressing at the bottom of the bowl. I cannot recommend this salad. I hope the staff is recognized and rewarded for their hard work.

When you're at an upscale outdoor shopping mall in Marin County, you expect to get a lot of great eateries. However, choices at the Village at Corte Madera. You have full on sit-down places such as "Cheesecake Factory" "Bazille" (inside Nordstrom) and the fancy "RH Rooftop Restaurant". Other than that, there's not much to choose from. This is where "Boudin SF" comes in as I prefer a place where I order it at the register and they bring your food out to you. To those that know this shopping center well, Boudin has been here for a long time, actually dating back to the late-1990's. Their previous location was at a different site in the same part of the center but their current location is a much larger area with an abundance of indoor seating. Since I was hungry, I decided to come here for lunch on the afternoon of Saturday 10/7/2023 at around 1:15pm. As expected, it was busy but I was helped fairly quickly. I ended up ordering their 'Chicken Pesto Sandwich"; this consisted of all natural chicken breast, tomatoes, arugula, balsamic vinaigrette, and pesto mayo on a sourdough baguette. I paired this up with a crisp green salad and a medium fountain drink. After paying (which was around $18), I was handed a number and my sandwich/salad was brought to my table in less than 10 minutes. The sandwich itself is definitely above average but the real winner here is that chewy sourdough bread. It was heavenly and absolutely raised the bar on this while the pieces of chicken and other fillings were just average to me. I think if you want to keep in safe, definitely get a sandwich or even better, their sourdough bread bowl (which includes yummy clam chowder). I do remember when Boudin used to be a much smaller company. But having expanded over the past couple decades, the sourdough novelty wore off. However, my meal was good while prices were decent and service was above average. My rating for the Corte Madera "Boudin SF"; an above average four stars.

We stopped in for a quick bite. The food is served cafeteria style, order at the counter, then the food is brought to your table. Crab was special on the menu, so we got the crab melt. It came with a choice of salad or a bag of kettle chips. That came out quickly, however we had to ask for our loaf of bread that we ordered at the same time. Outside seating is available.

Don't order through Yelp. Worst service with the run around. What's the use of pick up if I have to explain my order, wait, and then talk to thee people before I can get thee loaves shoved in a bag. An employee even touched my phone when I showed my bread was pre-paid for. read more

I came here today and wanted to sit outside in the patio area since it was a nice day outside. Alex said that they weren't doing table service outside, the orders were only to go. I don't get that because there were tables that had people's dishes that were before us and then there was a mother and daughter that came when we were done with our food that was boxed up. They had a number that they were given. They had indoor dining, I'm more comfortable on the patio because it's somewhat enclosed. read more

I love Boudin and have been a customer my whole life. This location has tanked. Most recently, the line to order took forever as there was 1 person taking orders during the lunch rush on a busy Saturday. Then we had to wait 20 min for our food, half of which they got wrong. The woman bringing the food displayed no remorse and seemed annoyed when we asked for the correct food. Love this location. Only improvement would be to bring back the employee or online order cashier line. Friendly efficient staff, delicious food, free bread. What more do you need in a local bakery and deli. I saw a cyclist enjoying a salad and glass of wine and thought to myself that's the way to do it. I hate to leave a negative review, but I had a horrible experience on Monday November 6. When my daughter and I approached the cashier, we asked her what the difference was between a classic French dip and a regular French dip. She just pointed and told us to read the menu in front of her. I then placed an order for a classic French dip and asked her for no horseradish and if she could put it on the side She seemed not to understand us and I asked her if she got it. She seemed to have a careless attitude. When we were looking for a seat, most tables were not clean. When we got our order, we got a ham sandwich, which was nothing that we ordered. When I told the lady that my order was wrong she looked lost and pointed that I go to the register. I told the cashier that I ordered a French Dip. The cashier (who was different now) yelled out to the lady packaging up the food to make a French dip sandwich. At this time, I didn't realize that my order on my receipt was incorrect. The clerk never even looked at my receipt to yell out the correct order. It took so long to get our food that I had to ask for it to go. It seemed like we were a bother and there were no apologies by anyone. When we finally got to eat the sandwich, it was a plain French dip with nothing on it, I was not impressed with a dry sandwich. We had driven away and we too far to go back. I sincerely got the impression that there was a huge language barrier by most and they could care less about customer service. I speak Spanish and English, if they don't understand a customer they should say something. I was very disappointed since I really enjoy eating at Boudin's when I'm in the Bay Area. Meh. This place is okay. Clam chowder is alright, the breads are a little dry and the prices are a little high. The restaurant itself is very clean and it's a good place to hang out with friends. The staff was extremely nice as well. If you're in this plaza and youre looking for some slightly overpriced Panera, this is an option. read more

My meat was dry and tough, and when I asked the manager if that's how it's supposed to look, he replied, "yes, because we TOAST it"????? Wth !!! You would think that the food from this place would be amazing but it isn't. I ordered a BLT sandwich and the bread was burnt so badly I couldn't even bite into it. Also there was maybe like one piece of bacon and to be quite frank I don't think anyone should spend their money here. Also I was given the wrong cookie and the cookie was burnt as well. Stopped in for supper Sunday evening. They were out of breadbowls! I was told at the register they would sub a dinner roll. I had the chicken pot pie, it was served without the dinner roll, I had to ask for one, and got a "look". Then the chicken pot pie had too much rosemary/thyme. Blah. Carrots were too firm. Was greeted around 5:15 by pleasant girl at counter who helped me get plates for my pickup order that we were eating onsite. Very attentive. Later, there was another woman at the counter who was squatting down below the counter and looking at her phone. She didn't acknowledge me, and I had to flag down someone else for help. I ship breads to family and friends all the time. They can easily have Boudin's famous bread without being in the heart of SF. I love the main dining area at the Wharf with happy hour and oyster bar. It's truly nostalgic for me growing up in the city, now it seems a bit commercialized . This location is in the Corte Madera Village Shopping Center, next to Cheesecake and across from Nordstrom. Take-outs make my life easier when deciding on dinner after a long, busy day at work. The chicken salad sandwich is delicious (contains nuts for those w/ allergies). By the time I get off work, their wines are half off; their version of happy hour - Amen! They only serve the small bottles of LaCrema, yet I'm not complaining, as I've seen those at Hotels for way more cha-ching$$ read more

Excellent place to eat lunch while shopping around the village! Great artisan breads to choose from and you can even take a loaf home! I get the roasted turkey sandwich when I go here for lunch and it's just terrific. No lunch meat here! This is real turkey! The staff is always friendly and the only issue is that it's so crowded it can be hard to find a seat. Otherwise excellent place for lunch and try the soups too!! read more

These days it's hard to get a meal for under $10. Apparently, it's hard to find food options at The Village these days too--what happened to the food court? Anyway, stopped into Boudin after a little shopping, and first off, I was impressed and surprised by the large selection on the menu. Back in the day there were basically 3 options, so when I saw crab cakes, and macaroni and cheese with crab, several types of pizzas, soups, and more, my taste buds were tantilized. For just over $8 I got the SF Combo with delicious clam chowder and a 1/2 of vegetarian pizza (SO DELICIOUS). It was fab and fast! read more

She said her mom owns a restaurant so she knows how to run a restaurant. Well this is a bakery not a restaurant and customers should be treated with respect or you loose them. The place is clean, with plenty of seating both inside and outside, and there is a large selection of pastries, scones, breads, and grab-and-go items. My go-to has been the ham and cheese croissant, which was fresh both mornings. The coffee was also nice and hot, which I always appreciate. The staff is professional and efficient, though clearly busy, so do not expect a lot of chit-chat. I also picked up a box of Cheese Coins, which turned out to be dangerous because I loved them and ate the whole box. Good coffee, fresh pastries, easy seating, and enough tempting extras to make you buy more than you planned. I will probably stop by again tomorrow morning before leaving the area.

The place is a grab-and-go establishment where you order at the cashier and grab your food once ready (or they'll bring it out to you if dining in). I loved the outdoor seating on a sunny day but all the tables were unfortunately taken when we were there. The inside also has a couple of seats and refreshing cucumber water was offered.

In particular, I came to claim my complementary birthday cake recently but being an idiot, I accidentally claimed it and when I tried to go to the store it showed it as claimed when I didn't actually claim it. The employees were super understanding and still gave me one when they totally could have just said too bad. They have such excellent customer service here and I really appreciate it. But after a few years in the area, I've come to associate these Bundt cakes, which come in large and mini sized, with birthdays, graduations, and celebrations. They look a little like an old fashioned Bundt cake your granny might bake, crossed with a pudding cake and something from the Safeway bakery case. Despite this, they taste surprisingly good: very moist, flavorful, and sweet. A friend brought a selection of their mini cakes: red velvet, lemon, Dubai chocolate, and raspberry to a dinner party recently, and even a group of pretty serious food lovers was pleasantly surprised and appreciative.

The chocolate icing was a bit too sweet and didn't have a deep chocolate flavor. I'm sure there are some delicious treats here as well that I'll need to try eventually if I'm ever in the area. ------ SERVICE: I spoke with a lady on the phone who was very kind and helpful, but the gentleman at the counter unfortunately wasn't able to provide any recommendations and couldn't manage the line well. The lady on the phone also told me they had the chocolate cake available which is the only reason why we drove out of our way to come here. ------ ENVIRONMENT: There are a few tables inside, outside, and nearby if you'd like to enjoy your treats nearby. The bakery itself is relatively spacious inside.

Flavors available were coffee cake, blueberry lime, lime poppyseed, vegan guava, and chocolate chip cronut - these five we ordered, Other flavors included brown butter glaze, strawberry, chocolate vanilla crème, raspberry jam, cinnamon glaze and sprinkles. Lemon blueberry was very lemon forward with subtle notes of blueberry. The doughnut itself was crusty and soft at the same time. The guava was like biting into the fruit, not too sweet on an airy, soft dough. The chocolate chip cronut was a flaky layered croissant like dough that tasted like a chocolate chip cookie with a decadent chocolate frosting. It was quite the pleasurable treat, our daughter loved it. The staff, compiled of two women at the front, were friendly with smiles. I grabbed a cup of latte and sat outside. The coffee was very good, and the seat was comfortable, so I kicked back and sipped my latte while watching the crowd go by. If you are in Nordstrom or the mall and want caffeine, Ebar is a good choice.

We hadn't eaten here in a while and were disappointed in the direction of the restaurant. No one greets you or even is present at the counter and they expect you to order off a large screen with payment and tip. Disturbing! The tables were generally dirty and when our food was brought out it was dumped on the table. The server seemed annoyed. No condiments. No water unless you searched for it and happened to find the little button on the soda dispenser. The sandwiches were inconsistent. They even throw the tip screen in your face just to buy a loaf of bread! read more

Haven't been to or eaten at a Boudin for awhile, but was shocked at how bad the food was. Tried to be cute and order the pizza, but when I got it, it was worse than a frozen pizza single. The taste was bland, but more importantly the bottom of the pizza was well under cooked. Took two bites and I called it. Never coming back. Service was slow as well as other reviews indicate, but to be expected in a mall on a weekend. Pains me to write this one because I grew up in the city and frequented both the Richmond district and Embarcadero locations. read more

I want to like this place. It has sourdough and chowder and the idea of their sandwhichs has the potential to make my mouth water. However, after dining here a couple of times previously, my last experience was a serious miss. We arrived at 7:52pm on a Wednesday, when the restaurant should've been open for at least 8 more minutes. To our shock, the door was locked and the manager the restaurant was closed... weird... I've never seen a restaurant turn away a paying, return customer. Unsure if I will go back after this experience. read more
