Their office was responsive when I…read morecontacted them, and I really appreciate that they were able to come out to see my condo to give me a free estimate. I contacted multiple other plumbers and they all charged $35-150 just to visit and give an estimate (they "waived" this fee if you chose to hire them, which I think is their strategy). Rain City Plumbing was able to come out and take a look at my shower quickly, and they gave me very clear and transparent estimates for how much it might cost. The two gentlemen who came by were uniformed, neat, and very polite and patient when explaining things to me. They were respectful of my home, and took off their shoes without me asking (when they needed to go further into a carpeted area to look at the back of my wall). They also followed up with me later to offer me a discount on the cost of parts. When I told them I was waiting to hear back from some of the other plumbers I had contacted, they were understanding and they actually recommended that I shop around and get quotes. I really appreciate that they were very willing to educate me as a new home owner, instead of trying to take advantage of me. While I didn't hire Rain City Plumbing to work on my job in the end, it was purely because I got a more competitive rate elsewhere. I still would highly rate Rain City Plumbing because of the great customer service I received. Thank you!

This was my first time hiring 2 Sons Plumbing & Sewer. I picked them due to their immediate…read moreavailability, flexibility for doing two separate plumbing jobs on one visit, and positive reviews on Yelp. The work I needed done was the installation of a 50-gal electric hot water heater (plus haul away of the old one) and the diagnosis/replacement of a corroded waste line connector for a garbage disposal. When I set up my appointment, I made sure to clarify that I wasn't going to be charged for the service visit, or additionally, for any diagnostic steps. Keep this in mind if you're considering them because it's probably a better idea to go with a plumbing company that won't charge you just to come out and physically look at the work you want done. Unfortunately, I was in a hurry, not because something was broken, but due to the fact that completing the work quickly was pivotal to getting a condo sale to the finish line. I was able to schedule my appointment for as early as Monday despite making the initial contact with 2 Sons Plumbing on Thursday (they could've come sooner, but I opted to avoid the extra "rush" or weekend fees by waiting until Monday). One thing I didn't like about their business model is there's no upfront cost for general jobs (i.e., install a hot water heater) or any idea of hourly charges. For instance, with Lowe's and/or Home Depot, I could call and get quotes for this type of work from their subcontractors. Going through Fast Water Heater (Lowe's preferred subcontractor), a 50-gal water heater installation might run between $2,200 and $2,400 depending on the model of hot water heater (the purchase of which is included in the quote). I ended up buying a new water heater from Home Depot ($871 after taxes) a couple of days prior to my appointment with 2 Sons Plumbing, and hauling it up a few flights of stairs to the condo in order to save money. I would later find out that, had I bought the 50-gal electric water heater carried in the back of the 2 Sons Plumbing Truck, it would've cost $3600 (I have no idea why it was this expensive). In the end, I paid 2 Sons Plumbing $1870 after taxes for the installation of the Home Depot Water Heater and haul-away of my old one ($2700+ if you include the price of the hot water heater I bought on my own). In addition to the hot water heater install, I ended up paying for a new garbage disposal plus its installation because the corrosion in the waste line was so bad that new parts were needed (which they didn't have). It made more sense to just replace the whole thing (current garbage disposal was 10+ years old)--This came out to $786.88 after taxes and a 3% convenience fee for using a credit card. Overall, it was a good experience thanks to the knowledge/prep work I had done for 2 Sons Plumbing before going with them. The final cost to me certainly had the potential to be much higher had I let 2 Sons Plumbing provide or do everything. The job took about 6 hours to complete, and I paid in the ballpark of $2500 for the hourly rates (?) plus the purchase of a basic garbage disposal and a minuscule amount of parts. I overheard that the general hourly rate is $400, so what I paid aligns with that. The amount of contact and post-job follow up documentation I received (emails; texts; invoices; etc.) was thorough but also annoying (I.e., solicitation for reviews). All things considered, here's how I'd rate things: Availability/Communication: 5/5 Cost: 3/5 Technician: 5/5 Invoice/Follow-up: 3/5

Counting the business owner, three plumbers came today. This time my initial request was to replace two faucets. The plumbers who came to give an estimate a week ago discovered that the cold water valve needed replacing. Notice must be given to building residents 3-4 days in advance of water shutoffs per my HOA rules. A few months after the first time I needed this plumbing company, a contractor working on remodeling my kitchen should have found the valve problem. But since he did not, the silver lining is the quality of the work by this company. I have complete faith that the replacement valve will work perfectly since they installed it. They showed me the plastic valve they replaced and how it would not turn at all. We all liked the faucets I chose for them to install. In the bathroom my glass waterfall faucet has LED lights to indicate cold, warm and hot water. After installing it the plumber showed me a video of the lights working before I went in to try it myself. The kitchen faucet is a Moen which looks nice to start with, and has some great functionality. As the handle is turned for the water the head floats down a little. Then it is possible to select an angle for the head to remain, for example 45 degrees. It will stay in the selected position while the water runs. The owner took a video for himself! Besides the top quality of the work, I appreciate the polite and respectful manners of the owner and all the plumbers.

As this wasn't an emergency, the dispslatcher said it would be today or tomorrow before a plumber would be sent. He was sent today. Sean called and arrived early afternoon and looked at the repair. He presented us three options and solid estimates. We chose the middle one and then decided to also ask about a toilet replacement. Again, Sean presented us options and we agreed to one He gave us. As he didn't have the toilet on his repair truck, Bee's dispatched an employee with a new toilet. Sean was very professional in his work, answering questions as he proceeded with the work. He mentioned a couple of things that needed replacing due to their aging. We agreed to have them replaced. When Sean presented the invoice, it was exactly as he stated. At no time did he try to "upsell" items were didn't need, unlike other plumbing firms in this area that are heavy TV advertisers. I would recommend Bee's Plumbing to anyone that ask! Thank you, Sean! And, thanks to your employer for all they have taught you, in not only the aspects of plumbing but also in customer service!

They repeatedly said this is only an attempt to repair. While they did say I that I didn't have to choose any options, they stood there creating a pressure situation. I picked the tub sealing option since it seemed most straight forward, again with no guarantee of fixing the leak. I asked why a tub caulking would be ~$900, and the technician began to oversell the difficulty of the job and the "high quality" sealant they would use. I approved the quote with that belief, only to see they did the job in 40 minutes and used a caulk that I could have bought in Lowes for $5. I've asked their management for a review and have been stonewalled. I had higher expectations for Bee's Plumbing given the reviews and referrals but left very disappointed. I've attached the caulk, tub caulking and contract from Bee's to show what happened. Would you pay $900 for this?

We had a new main water line to our house installed to replace the original galvanized steel. We…read morefound Akers through a reference from another plumber giving us a quote for interior work as part of the same overall project, who told us that while he would be willing to do the exterior/trenchless work himself, we should really contact this company (Akers) he knew, that it was their bread and butter. We did decide to use Akers, and overall we were very pleased with that choice. The factors that most won me over from their estimate was the clear level of expertise and familiarity that Ryan showed, along with the confidence from knowing that someone who was going to be doing the work was the one evaluating the situation. As an example, the path from the meter to our house crosses under the driveway as well as intersecting with our neighbor's side-sewer in an easement. Plenty of other plumbing companies expressed they'd have no trouble dealing with the situation in a trenchless run, but only Akers went as far as pointing out the exact spots they'd dig their pits and how that pathing would make sure there was no chance of boring through the side-sewer. Similarly, Ryan was the only one to point out how the existing line was part of our electrical grounding, and discuss using copper for a suitable distance outside the house before the switchover to PEX in order to keep things functional and compliant. In terms of contracting/business-ops there some amount of looseness that a larger company might not display (minor delays in sending documents, nebulous arrival time on the day of the work) but nothing that was really problematic, and I'd certainly rather have the tiny hiccups of working with real humans versus some overly-polished private-equity machine. Traci was gracious and clear when responding to my inquests, even over the weekend when she was self-admittedly out of town, which is above and beyond in my book. In terms of price I think they were perfectly fair, they weren't the lowest quote we had, but landed slightly below most of the other numbers we got, not anything where I felt like I was getting an enormous steal, but I had no qualms about the number they asked. The actual project work itself went great, they had the entire replacement done on one day in about 5 or 6 hours with minimal disruption, and even took the time to keep the top sod layer for each pit relatively intact in order to replace, so that by the time they left, you could barely tell where they had dug. The minimal interior work that was part of the project (new hole through the foundation concrete, new main shutoff valve and hookup to the rest of the interior plumbing) was similarly spotless. If we ever need similar outdoor plumbing work in the future, Akers is going to be an easy first call for an estimate.

This is a great local company that I would highly recommend.
