While I had no service contract with anyone, I called Appolo since my daughter has had good luck with them. As it was off hours, the answering service told me I should receive a call back within 15 minutes, which I did. The tech explained to me that off hours charges are higher and that he had two calls to handle before getting to me. He called a few hours later to tell me he was on his way to me and arrived shortly after that. He was considerate and listened to me explain the troubleshooting steps I had already taken and was able to diagnose and correct the problem in short order. I also took his suggestion and signed up for a service contract, which lowered toe cost of that day's service call. I had a question on the invoice so I called the Appolo office the following Monday and found the staff very helpful and considerate as well.

They would not come around without signing up for a service agreement with them. They gave me no option in the type of agreement and they put me on the silver plan. The guy came round and switched the switch ,lit the boiler which took literally 2mins and said he would not serviced the unit until the fall and gave me the $600 bill. 2 months later and still no service I called them to make an appt and waited another month to get one. They call Friday to confirm, I take off work Monday and they never show. I call them Tuesday and they say they called to cancel Monday AM . I ask to repeat my number and they say area code is 847? We were defrauded by Rycor and may have to take legal action. We spent over $8,000 installing 2…read moremini splits - 1 on each floor of our home. Rycor assured us this would provide adequate climate control across both floors. It has not. We recently needed service and the Rycor technician who provided the service observed that the entire setup is wrong - he said we were given "wildly overpowered" units for the size of the rooms they are in. He is right. The spillover effect into others rooms that we were promised is non-existent. Instead, what we get is 2 rooms that cannot be adequately climate controlled because the unit is too powerful for them even when on the weakest setting; and many other rooms that have no climate control at all. We always needed 4 splits, but Rycor defrauded us into believing otherwise so they could close the deal. So we are out over $8,000 and need a brand new set up. Total disaster, and very dishonest. As I write this review it is summer and I am sitting in a freezing cold room where I need to wear a bunch of layers even though the unit is on the lowest possible cooling setting. But if I turn the unit off, the room is too hot. That has been our experience every day. So the splits are completely unusable. Rycor acknowledged their mistake, but offered only a $1,000 credit rather than the full replacement we need. We are considering our legal options.

They conducted a thorough investigation, diagnosed the underlying issue and recommended a treatment plan tailored to fully eliminate the odor. Since June '23, their technicians have been on point- responsive, knowledgeable and consistent. We also decided to invest in a specialized water filtration system as part of a more thorough solution, not just for odor elimination, but for long-term peace of mind and health reasons. I mean...who would want to bathe in, brush teeth and cook with water that has a fart smell??? David came out on a Thursday back in '23 for a follow-up and took the time to inspect everything thoroughly and confirm that the new system- from the pipes to the additional components installed earlier that summer were operating properly. By late August of that year, we saw major progress and the sulfur smell was completely gone. We signed up for a maintenance plan because we want continued oversight to ensure everything stays in excellent condition. The service has been outstanding and the price goes hand in hand with the tremendous work these guys do. David's communication was especially appreciated- he'd keep my husband informed by text with ETA updates, which is exactly the kind of service we value. Til this day, our water is perfect!
