There's not enough great things that I can say about everyone here at Bothell Pet Hospital. My wife has been a loyal customer of theirs since before I met her over 4 years ago. I've hated vets as much as used car salesmen due to their drive to squeeze as much money out of us for needless things as they can. In the past, I've had vets tell me that my pet had eye infections starting and that I needed to buy expensive ointment or they could lose their sight. Really? Yes, really. There's been other instances in the past of unethical scare tactics but this isn't a place to vent old experiences. I'm here to praise this business. They've not only been extremely helpful with our pets but when we needed to have 2 of our cats euthanized (at different times) they sent us a card with their paw print inside with little notes of condolences from the employees and Dr's there. The Dr's really do listen and even offer holistic treatments instead of just pushing you to buy medicine. We have a rescue dog that has food allergies and was also very malnourished. They offered great alternatives and how much food to give to boost his weight and then how much to maintain his healthy weight. They're great about reminding us for our annual pet exams and also helped us with the cremation of our pets too. I love the donated pictures of their "patients" hung up all over the place and how they just care. They are genuine and it shows. Thank you Bothell Pet Hospital. read more

Our dogs have been seeing Dr Kovar for about a year and a half. My big dog had a bad knee injury, and she was so helpful in giving us all of our options. we opted for surgery, and she helped us all the way through. I want to add my voice to the chorus of praise for this place. We live in Redmond currently, but our friend is fostering our brand new rescue dog until we move in a month. She always takes her pets here, so for our new dog's first appointment, we decided to follow suit. After one visit at this friendly neighborhood vet, I'm switching from Brookfield in Redmond for all four of our pets. Prices are reasonable (I'm paying a fortune at Brookfield) and we didn't wait long to see the vet (Dr. Hsu). I just really liked everyone we encountered at BPH, from the front-desk staff to the vets. Ive been going to Bothell Pet Hospital since we moved here from the east coast. I mainly see Dr. S. Smith. She is compasionate, caring and most of all she listens to you and your concerns. She doesnt try to sell you all the extras that alot of vets try to do. She does what is needed, and provides good honest care for you FurFamily! She is an excellent vet and i trust her completley when it comes to all of my senior pets. The front office staff are professional and very helpful. As long as I live here in the bothell area, i will take my pets here! read more

I have been going to this hopsital since 2006. Since I am in rescue, I have the worst of the worst. This clinic is caring, amazing, professional and can work with you on a personal level as well. I love all the vets, the vet techs and the front desk. The are an amazing practice. Everyone loves them I highly recommend them. Dr. Kovar has done at least 20 knee surgeries for me, and they have had illnesses and sicknesses that the average dog owner has never seen. Love them! Had a bad experience at prior vet and was dealing with a complex infection with my pug. They have provided amazing care. My dog is cured and all the while their service has been thorough, caring and prompt. The doctors return my phone calls personally (prior vet never did), even on evenings and weekends. I feel that my pets are in very good hands here and prices are reasonable. read more

I have had universally great care from this clinic, and always feel like we are in the best of hands. We visited their office a couple weeks ago, this time unfortunately to put one of our family pets to sleep. Dr. Hsu was compassionate and genuine during the difficult experience. At a meaningful time in one's life, it's fulfilling to feel like someone is taking part in the experience & supporting you, and I felt like she was. She is a wonderful vet, and a generous person. We also really appreciated the card we received from their office the next week after our cat died. We was blown-away by it actually. The fact that each person in the office spent a minute to make us feel better is awesome, and we were all touched by it. Hard to find this kind of support from a vet these days. Dr. Aubrey Schaeffer is the best! Extremely kind and patient. Nothing matters more than the person caring for your beloved four-legged child! The ONLY reason I can't give five stars is because no one will ever match up to the vet we had in Dallas, Texas before we moved here. Their customer service was unmatched from what I've seen anywhere else. Our dog was the vet's mascot and they would let him have run of the back office when we boarded him there. OMG the worst freak accident happened to Tilly today. My silver bracelet made from a fork that I have worn everyday for two years got stuck in Tilly's eye and was hanging from her eye lid. I went screaming across the street with Tilly in my arms to my neighbor . She raced me to her vet and they took bolt cutters and cut the bracelet out of Tilly's eye lid. No blood and her eye is not damaged. I am still shaking. Poor Tilly never fussed or cried she is a trooper and very brave. One hour and $79 dollars we are home. A big shout out to Bothell Pet Hospital for taking her right back. Wonderful treatment since we were new patients. I am forever grateful to Dr. Lesley Kovar. (Tilly is a rescue Shih Tzu) read more

Wow. I am so happy and impressed with this vet clinic. Dr Harmor took care of my kitty bella who had somehow damaged her canine and needed it extracted. From my consult to the actually surgery, she was so nice and professional and I felt like really cared about Bella. I had taken her to a corporate vet clinic in the area on a Sunday only because I was worried about her tooth as she was in a lot of pain and bothell was closed. This corporate clinic quoted me over around $4k and I just felt like a number to them and they just kept trying to sell me on stuff. I called bothell the next day and was pretty much in tears with how this corporate vet treated us (they didn't even help my kitty in the moment and offer her anything to make her more comfortable). I called Bothell Monday morning and they had us come in that day and evaluated bella, came up with a plan, gave her some antibiotics, gave me a quote and scheduled the surgery. Although they were booked out a few weeks for surgery, they also sent me home with some pain medicine in case she was in any discomfort. Today, we had her surgery and Dr Harmor was the best at communicating. Also, the surgery ended up being almost $400 cheaper than what I was originally quoted. I appreciate all of the staff here and feel like they truly love pets and aren't in it just to charge people an arm and leg but truly want pets to be happy and healthy. Thank you Dr Harmor! The staff is always professional and efficient, and they clearly care a lot about their clients AND their pets. I've seen two of the vets there, and they were both wonderful with my pet and personable with me and my children. My best friend/roomie and I have been going to this vet since we adopted our kittens two years ago. Every time we have ever gone in, the staff greeted us with smiles from ear to ear. They are nothing but helpful at the front office. Our cats have been seen by Dr. Wichert who was the perfect cat whisperer ever! We were worried because one of our cats is very shy and doesn't like to be around new people. They were there to get shots and Dr. Wichert made both of them feel extremely comfortable. She also put us owners at ease. I love this place and I will ALWAYS recommend this clinic to anyone looking! read more

Our first visit was after an emergency visit to VCA in Lynnwood,(do not go there) not the best way to meet a new vet! My poor little guy was in immense pain, but Dr. Hsu was able to put us both at ease in minutes. I love her. She always takes the time to answer your questions and really spends a lot of time with your pet.When I had to leave my cat there she called me several times throughout the day to update me. Dr. Kovar is awesome too. Dr. Smith, on the other hand, talks down to you and makes you feel like you're wasting her time. She totally ignored everything I said and spent about 2 seconds examining my cat. Not Cool. The front desk staff is really nice and if they don't have something in stock they will call around for you. I've never had to wait more than a day or two for a routine appt. Awesome vet, just don't see Dr. Smith if you don't have to. read more

My Siberian kitten is my like my baby and I was very nervous to schedule a vet visit after bringing her home, as she is my first pet as an adult on my own. Scheduling, checking in as a new patient, everything was easy! The front desk/phone staff and vet techs have all been very nice. We saw Dr. Smith and she was wonderful. She was very patient with my nervous little kitty and you can really see that she has a love for animals. She gave me all the information I needed and put me at ease as a "new mom" by simply being great at her job and making me feel like my pet is in good hands. read more

Our cat swallowed a foot-long ribbon over the holidays that needed to be removed surgically. Bothell Pet Hospital was able to do the surgery ASAP and at a very reasonable cost compared to other estimates. The office is very efficient and organized, and you can tell that their main interest is your pet's well-being, not "the almighty dollar." When I brought her back to have the stitches removed a couple weeks later they did not charge me for the office visit, like other vets would. They run a very tight ship and i would trust them with complete confidence with any pet. read more

I've been going here for 15 years when I had to find an avian vet, and Dr. Kovar was recommended to me. I no longer have birds but lots of dogs, and I'm still very happy with the service and friendliness of this vet. I always try to see Dr. Kovar when I can, she is my favorite. I would highly recommend them. They are fairly pricey when I was checking out spaying prices, so I went to My Pets Vet in Kirkland for the spaying of my new puppy, and paid half the price of Bothell Pet Hospital. And I was happy with My Pet's Vet for this service. But I will keep Bothell Pet Hospital as my regular vet. read more

I have been meaning to write a review about BPH for a long time. I have had pets for 30 years. This is the most compassionate, accommodating vet place I have ever been to. They actually care about your pets as family members, are never in a rush just to get you out the door. I always see Dr. Smith and she is amazing. I have also heard the other vets are good also. The vet techs are also great!. I have a blind, deaf, overweight pug. He has to go in frequently for nail trims because they curl so badly and quickly. I know trimming his nails cannot be easy. Last time the vet tech carried my pug out in his arms (no easy task) and kissed him on the top of the head. Genuine kindness and compassion of this vet clinic is why I have referred several friends and family to them. Everyone I know loves them and has a great experience. read more

I love this place! My dog has been going there since she was a puppy (almost 7 years now). She goes for her annual exam and sometimes a few more times in the year (she has chronic ear infections and a variety of other "issues"). The prices have alwasy been very reasonable. The front desk staff are super friendly and very helpful on the phone and in person. Our dog is a bit of a spaz and they always take it in stride while I am embarassed by her antics. Dr Cleveland is by far my favorite here as well as Dr Kovar. Dr Smith I am not as fond of but she does an adequate job. She just seems to talk down to me a little which I get annoyed by. She doesn't do that to my dog though. I just usually request one of the other doctors when I call for an appointment. We keep going back even though it is far from our house. The treatment we get and the caring way they take care of our dog is worth the extra drive. read more

I've been to Bothell Pet Hospital a number of times over the past few years and had the pleasure of working with several vets. Every vet I've seen and staff member I've worked with has been absolutely lovely; compassionate and knowledgable, and good educators without being patronizing. They helped resolve a variety of kitty-issues and have reasonable prices. Ultimately my cat reached the end of a wonderful life, and the staff here really went out of their way to help me keep her comfortable and to offer their support. It was really clear that they genuinely cared about my kitty (one vet called me from home on her lunch break, and they made lots of efforts to fit me in when needed). Dr. Smith and Dr. Kaiper were particularly amazing and empathetic throughout this ordeal. As other reviewers have mentioned, the staff sent a sweet card with paw prints after my cat passed away. It made me cry and was really above and beyond what I would have expected from a vet. read more

We recently visted the Bothell Vet Clinic for the first time with our sick cat and had she was treated with the upmost care. We worked with Dr. Shannon Smith to make a plan that worked best for our family. Dr. Smith took the time to talk with us multiple times and we were never pressured or rushed. Today was my second visit to the Bothell Vet Hospital. The first time was a few months ago for a routine visit and vaccine update for my cat. The second visit today was for a routine visit, a vaccine and nail clipping for my very shy elderly dog. Both times my pets were treated very well. Today I had a lot of questions. They were all answered to my satisfaction without me feeling like I was being rushed. i left with a nice little goodie bag for my dog (toothbrush, toothpaste and a doggie treat) and a bill that was under $100. It was a refreshing change from my past experiences with a VCA office in Redmond. It feels great that I found a vet close by that gives me great service and is affordable. read more

I was very pleased with my experience here. They provided a fair quote, sufficient appointment time to address concerns, a conservative approach and a personable vet (Dr. Keiper). Being they are so close, I can't believe we didn't find them earlier as we have lived in Bothell for 25 years! A little hard to get to with the recent construction, but absolutely worth it.
