Omelette
Generous Y.

We were in the area and wanted brunch, so we found a highly rated spot nearby (Both Ways Cafe) and were unfortunately disappointed. Service was pretty inattentive, took a while to take our orders and seemed like they wanted us to hurry up. They also never came by to refill waters while they were chatty with other customers. Favoritism to regulars is fine, but when at the expense of other customers, I'd say the business isn't very welcoming. Omelette - was very underwhelmed. Everything was pulling water from my mouth, so I sipped water after every bite. I guess that helps me feel full, but I was shocked. The potatoes were seasoned well, with a nice saltiness, but were dry. Most biscuits are already dry, but I felt like the biscuit here was somehow drier and had nothing to pair with. Biscuits and gravy exists for a reason, so the added biscuit seems flawed to begin with. I enjoyed the random assortment of fruits, but nothing special. The omelette itself was okay, but followed the same common theme of being more dry than expected.

Biscuit & Gravy

This cafe has been a fun spot to treat ourselves to a great breakfast these last few years- they have lunch all day too but I gravitate towards biscuits and gravy like a crazy person. Anyhoo this is my fav biscuits and gravy in Seattle. I think based on this latest visit the gravy recipe has changed a little this time (different level of seasoning) but while it's different it's still very good. You know what hasn't changed tho? The amazing incredible biscuits- TALL AS A MAN I'd say, a good crust on the outside while still soft on the inside. Even if you aren't getting biscuits and gravy you really should substitute your toast with the biscuit. Food is most important to me but the charming decor and dining room makes it feel really special and personal. The service is friendly and fast, willing to answer questions about the menu, and focused on making sure you have everything you want/need even on your way out. anyway- BISCUITS! Get some!

Biscuit & Gravy with 2 eggs

Came here on a Saturday for brunch, and it was super packed! Since it was a pretty cold day, most people opted to sit inside. I came with a fairly large party of 6, but what was originally estimated to be a 30 min wait tuned into a 1-1.5 hour wait :/ Upon finally getting seated, I ordered the biscuits and gravy with 2 eggs. The wait for the food was super long as well, taking well over half an hour, probably over an hour. The food, upon being served, was unfortunately not really worth the wait either. The gravy on the biscuits was quite under seasoned, with everyone at our table feeling the need to sprinkle copious amounts of salt on it, and the biscuits were super dense. The eggs were done nicely though, so that's a plus. Overall, I won't be coming back here again, if I wanted to wait so long for food I'd be better off driving somewhere else.

Delicious brunch at Both Ways Cafe! And the prices were reasonable. Get there early as it will fill up quickly.

The service was spotty and weird. I thought "disaffected PacNW service" had come and gone, but I was wrong. When we put our names in we asked if we could have coffee while we waited...were were told that they were too busy for it that? Then, as we were waiting, other folks that had put their names in were sipping on coffee? What the heck? Luckily the food, and especially the ambiance, were great! Everything came out fresh and looked like it was probably made from scratch.

Food was good, & that's it. Waited for outside seating because I had the pup, no problem. It is right by the road. Got seated at a dirty table - not wiped at all. For dog friendly? The water bowls outside are disgusting and don't look like they've been changed all week. I bring my own anyway. I ordered an iced tea, small glass which is fine but wasn't offered a refill once. Service meh, ambiance inside I have no idea.

Big ole biscuits!

A YPN event hosted there felt like the perfect excuse to come back. Unfortunately, this visit left me disappointed. We came over from Pioneer Square (Firn) for the event, and from the moment we arrived the space felt overcrowded with very little organization or direction for traffic flow. We eventually sat at the bar for about 15 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. When we finally spoke with a bartender, we were told they were out of espresso, despite having just watched what appeared to be a batch go into the refrigerator. Fair enough if it wasn't available to serve, but instead of taking our order or suggesting another drink, the interaction essentially ended there and the bartender moved on. That was ultimately the biggest disappointment for me. Being busy is understandable, especially during an event. What matters is how the experience is handled, and a simple "we can't make that, but let me recommend something else" would have gone a long way. The cars are undeniably cool and the concept has plenty of potential, but the hospitality and event organization didn't match the setting on this visit.

I've been here just to snag a drink and I also have eaten here before more pregaming at Victory Hall and it's always a fantastic time. Just get there early, because it will get packed! Métier Brewing (and the owner, Rodney Hines) is one of my favorite breweries in Seattle - love their hazy IPAs! Steelheads Alley is dedicated to people of color in sports throughout the years and the memorabilia is really cool and the whole space is just a vibe. The food comes from Hatback next door, and it's fantastic. I've had a few of their offerings but most recently I had the Steelheads Burger which is their take on a classic cheeseburger. It was cooked perfectly and the Steelheads Sauce on it is really good. If you haven't been here yet, definitely do yourself a favor and stop in for dinner or drinks! You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu and the space is a fun atmosphere to relax in.

It's a fabulous place to people watch sports fans going into a Mariners game. The German potato salad french fries were delicious! They had vinegar tang and bacon grease flavor perfectly proportion throughout the french fries. There were even mustard seeds. My husband enjoyed some of the best tacos he'd ever had. I tried the chicken taco meat and it was a flavor bomb. It came with a robust side of fries. The service was inconsistent. He ordered a espresso martini, and they served it in a very small plastic cup. I ordered a bratwurst and the waiter forgot to put in the order. I just got a bowl of fries for dinner. If you request water, they will point you to a self serve water station. I am fine with getting my own water, but the cups were small. I had to go back three times. Our waiter also forgot to give us cutlery and napkins. Eating my French fry dinner was messy without napkins.
