I was told about this restaurant from a gentleman at Bass Pro shop. My wife ordered the Beef Hump with mashed potatoes, salad, and mixed vegetables. She absolutely loved it. Everything was fresh and cooked to perfection. I ordered the Feijoada. This was incredible. Fresh, with rice, vegetables, orange slices, and fried pork bellies. They were all incredible. Next time I am here I would love to come back. We also ordered Bolihno de Mandioco. This was basically a fritter with cream cheese and beef in it. I have no idea where to start. First & foremost I am so glad I came here versus going to some chain restaurant nearby since this is historically a tourist trap area. Boteco Restaurant absolutely nailed it. Great vibe, and despite it being a quiet Tuesday night I got to really enjoy my meal. For my appetizer I got the Codfish Fritters and WOW, the flavor and portion size is perfect. It doesn't leave you full before your main meal. Speaking of the main meal, I had the Tuscan Sausage w/ Brazilian Rice, Fried Yuca & Chimichurri seasoning (made in house). The FLAVOR was absolutely more than I expected. So I ended up with a voucher/coupon to eat here. I said why not coupon is going to expire. Immediately entering we were welcome and could sit anywhere we want. For the time we went it wasn't as busy but as the night went the crowd started to show up. My food was very good and flavorful. At night they have live music on the weekend. The empanadas are very flavorful. We ordered beef and cheese empanadas and we ordered another order of cheese ones and shared. We also ordered fresh lemonades. Entrees were: steak for two...lots of flavor and it came with rice, beans, and we asked for side of steamed yucca. All delicious. Steak is on the thinner side...juicy though. If you are thinking a big fat steak...that isn't it. Know that before you order. But plenty of it to go around. Some have the same experience- some do not. The cost is respectfully challenging today. So, it's important to understand other experiences. Here's the highs & lows of a dinner date. Entered @9pm. Nicely lit; nice area on I-drive by fun spot; music playing. No greeter; someone sat us down and gave us menus/ No questions asked. (1) There was no true greeting: no hello, is this your first time? My name is (waiter)? Do you have menu questions? Would you like a drink... took nearly 15 min to get a drink. The man walked us past a large ground to sit but "we squeezed awkwardly behind a man in a chair instead of going around the table properly..." truly unprofessional. Only 5 tables and plenty of space to walk around... (2) The prices for a skirt steak- I had larger steaks for that price. The rice came out HOT - nice! The fries came out hot! The empanadas- tasted great! The steak was corpse cold! So, the main part of the meal- that makes the meal, the meat- was cold. (3) They added gratuity. I would not give past 18% for the service. The Picanha here is sooooo gooood! It was so much that we brought it to go as well. It was my first time trying stroganoff, it was good but it wasn't a favorite of mine. My Brazilian coworkers love stroganoff so I think it was just a me problem. They have a full bar here with Caiprinhas and other beverages. Had a really stand out lunch here when I was on vacation. Low key profile with a giant projector screen (they were watching sports when I was there) and friendly servers, it's a chill and laid back kind of place. Admittedly I haven't had too much experience with Brazilian cuisine but every time I get a chance to try more I take it. Boteco was definitely another great foray into the land of cassava flour. I highly recommend the Escondidinho de Camaro appetizer -- a beautiful mix of mashed yucca, gooey cheese and shrimp with delicate and flavorful spice. For an appetizer it's incredibly rich but oh so amazing. Then I had the Shrimp Bobo for an entree, which wasn't too unsimilar but much less heavy and also succulent and delicious. I recently had the opportunity to enjoy lunch at Boteco with a relative from Brazil. She was excited to show me some Brazilian cuisine, and Boteco did not disappoint. We were seated in a booth with plenty of space to park a stroller at the end. Since my dining companion spoke Portuguese, we were served by Portuguese speaking staff, but there were also staff who spoke English. I started my meal with the beef jerky pasteis which were definitely a highlight. I also enjoyed a well made caipirinha. For my main, I had the sanduiche de picanha which was a nice mix of familiar and unique. It was very large, and I ended up eating the picanha with a fork since I couldn't finish the whole thing! I also had the opportunity to try the feijoada which was excellent, and I would definitely order it next time. I'd recommend Boteco for a casual Brazilian lunch, whether you are Brazilian yourself or just interested in trying a new cuisine! read more

They handed us a dinner menu...when we asked if they had lunch, the server says they eat the same thing for lunch as dinner...great. Then he finally gave us the lunch menu. It's two different prices. I'm giving them a 1 star review only because I can't leave a 0. I was charged $17 plus a mandatory $3 and change for gratuity on a PICKUP order and received an unreasonable portion of food. I generally do not mind paying a higher price for better quality, but this is neither. When I complained about the portions, all they did was check with the chef and bring me back my order and go on their merry way. I wasn't offered a single thing to compensate or anything. AND I had to pay a mandatory gratuity for something that I went to pick up myself. I AM FLOORED. I will never recommend this place to a single person. When I asked for the bill, I asked for the tip to be removed, and a waiter named Marcelo said that he wouldn't remove it, cause they always charged it. I said I wouldn't pay, there was no obligation to pay, and no law protects the establishment to forcing the customer to pay, especially since he spoke rudely to all of us. He simply said it was cultural and that I had to pay or I would never come back again, what a f*** ?! And it's against the law! He simply took the bill and removed the tip and threw the bill on our table, and said that next time we should not come back because we were not welcome. And I really will never go back again, never ! This bar was good someday, today the service is terrible, that's why it is always empty and the business has dropped a lot. Treating a pregnant woman and a family this way is absurd. This Marcelo should learn to respect customers and not do this kind of thing. Today we have other options in Orlando that are much better and mainly treat customers well and not this lack of respect, shameful! I am sure that the owner of the place does not agree this type of situation from these unscrupulous and clueless employees! He never brought me a water. I asked a second time in the middle of dinner and he still never brought it. - I ordered my steak strips done medium, and my dates steak well done. It came wrong, mine was well done and his was medium. - when he brought us the food, there wasn't even silverware on the table. He left the food there and we had to ask for silverware....by the time he brought us the silverware our food was cold. - I asked for lime, never brought it. I had to ask a second time. - while all of that was happening he was still just watching some soccer game on tv and making out with this girl. Super unprofessional. - even the caipirinhas weren't good like they normally are.
