On our cream tea tour of Devon we came across this place in Honiton and stayed for over an hour on the comfy couches stuffing our faces with cakes and pastries! The carrot cake is the best I've ever tasted, the menu is great for lunches and reasonably priced, staff are friendly, and the comfy seating make you feel very relaxed. Its at the top of the road leaving Honiton back onto the A303 so not right in the centre, but definitely worth walking a bit further out to find. read more

Often quite busy and popular with the locals of all ages. I have had to queue, sometimes for at least twenty minutes, to be served. Not a good idea on market day (Tues and Sat) at mid morning. Decor is a little worn and tired but the place is generally cheerful and the service is , eventually, polite and efficient. Fairly priced with a good range of drinks, breakfasts, lunches, cakes. Special events are sometimes held in the evenings. Three adequate seating areas downstairs with easy access and on street parking is usually available in the High Street. Pleasant garden, with some shade, is peaceful in the summer months. read more

For a small chain coffee shop the Boston Tea Party is excellent. The variety of teas and coffees on offer is exceptional and I have never been served, either in Exeter or Honiton (the two I have visited) by anyone who has been unfriendly or unhelpful. There is a very good range of fresh cakes and biccies, the breakfast, though missing fried eggs and substituting scrambled, is very good and as a bone fide caffeine addict the Continental roast is 'to die for'. The boston Tea Part is at the top End of Honiton. A warm relaxed atmosphere on entering. At the rear is a garden area if the weather permits. The service is of a good standard. A good selection of cakes and they have a specials board with anything from a Salad to a full on meal. The house coffee is of good quality and not too bitter.
