The blend of Earl Grey was very refreshing and the home made carrot cake and lemon sponge pudding (both with yummy Devon clotted cream!) were to die for. For mains we ate locally caught crab sandwiches and a jacket potato with tuna mayonnaise - both hearty, filling dishes giving us plenty of energy for the journey home. The decor is slightly bizarre, featuring old cameras and pictures of geese, and when it was only my friend and I in the cafe one felt as though one had to speak rather quietly for fear of disturbing the calm atmosphere! However this was a delightful tea rooms with generous, reasonably priced, and delicious fare on offer. The scones arrived before the tea, and I had time to cut and put jam and cream on 2 scones before it arrived. No apology, just some muttering about bagging their own teabags taking time. Cream tea was excellent, homemade scones with plenty of jam, cream and strawberrys. Would visit again but on a quieter day.

We opted for brunches all around and did not regret it for a minute. Our only regret is that we are rarely in that part of the world. We ended up in Dawlish purely by chance but if I ever pass through the town again Jack Sprat's will be my first port of call. Plenty of metered parking nearby and all around The Lawn.
