The scones are all freshly baked, and served with fresh clotted cream and jam. The cakes are all freshly baked and a dream. The pasties were made with meat from the butcher down the street, and flour from the mill, and it tasted divine! We met the miller and his wife, and they were so sweet and friendly! The hot chocolate is rich and properly made (not an instant hot water job) and the cakes and pastries are mouthwatering. If you're not very hungry (the portions are generous) you can opt for individual cookies, financiers, macaroons and madelines. The prices are really reasonable too and you can soak up some culture as the large seating area is decorated with local artists' works that are (mostly) for sale.

Their menu offers a nice range of food that's always been fresh and tasty. Most of their menu seems to be sourced within the West Country, and they use free range eggs, organic milk, organic meats... On the whole, they're a great independent chain of cafés.
