First the good stuff - the décor is really nice, great artwork on the walls, nice carpeting, clean tiles, nice furniture. As I said, friendly staff, very helpful and courteous. We used a Marriot gift card, which is typically always a problem, but they had it done in minutes. The place is clean, rooms are very well maintained and the cleaning staff does an excellent job. It's about a 10 minute walk to the heart of the town so it's very convenient. It has a rooftop restaurant, a bar and a breakfast buffet. The gym is fantastic! One of the best I've seen! Super clean, multiple machines, a virtual workout station and plenty of free weights. The rooftop restaurant is nice, good food at a good price and has a great vibe. It's apparently a pretty trendy spot with the locals. The not so great - added fees. They charged us a $25 a day "destination" fee - money that they are "giving us" that we had to spend at the hotel. Well, if you're charging us automatically, then you're not giving it to us. No mention of that when we booked. Also, parking is not free - it's Valet ONLY and it's $45 a day. That was also misleading in the listing. It reads Valet or parking garage. You can take your chances and try to park on the street, but you have to pay for that too. Two observations that are neither good nor bad - the views are "ok" - there are multiple construction projects going on in the immediate area (not the hotel's fault) but it definitely doesn't make for great views of the water or town. Hopefully, in time, those projects will finish and make the neighborhood look better. It's also a pet friendly hotel, so you'll see lots of dogs coming and going. They do a really good job masking any "smells" or "sights" you would normally come across in a pet friendly environment - I honestly didn't notice anything until I saw an actual dog and thought "oh wow, I guess they are pet friendly" Overall, a very good experience, just didn't appreciate getting nickel and dimed with extra fees.

I had an incredibly frustrating experience with this stay, starting long before arrival. The hotel…read moreapp failed to work. Even after troubleshooting on my phone, it wouldn't load. I called the reservations line for help, but the agent was cold, sounded annoyed, and used a matter-of-fact tone.Things worsened significantly at check-in. I had 2 rooms reserved. The front desk agent charged my card five separate times. The terminal explicitly read "approved" every time, but she insisted the system declined it and kept swiping. This was on top of an initial incidentals charge on the first room. She claimed the two rooms required separate charges, but the math and the repetitive swipes make no sense. To make matters worse, all four room keys she handed me opened one of the rooms, and none of them worked in the elevator.While the hotel is clean, aesthetically pleasing, and features a nice rain shower head, the room's comfort was severely lacking. The bed sheets were scratchy and the bed was not comfortable, very thin, and there is an inconveniently placed fire alarm directly above the bed with a blinking light. We were also awoken by loud, early morning construction happening immediately next door.Our experience at the rooftop bar was equally disappointing. The host ushered us to couches when we told her we were there for drinks only and asked to let us sit at a table for drinks, telling us "couches" onlyand someonewould be with us shortly. We sat on the couches completely ignored for over 10 minutes. The bar was only moderately busy, and plenty of waitstaff walked right past us without making eye contact. When we left and mentioned the lack of service to the host, she was completely indifferent.Check-out capped off the terrible service. There were two agents at the desk. The first agent refused to help me because she was "in the middle of planning" and sent me to the other line. Immediately after turning me away, she greeted and assisted another guest who walked up right behind me.The entire experience felt incredibly unwelcoming. While the hotel looks nice on the surface, the severe billing issues, broken keys, widespread staff apathy, and poor room comfort ruined the trip. I absolutely cannot recommend this hotel. I just did not appreciate the way we were treated.
