I was an out of state buyer, so these reviews made me scared that I'd be wasting my time driving there, but the car was exactly as shown on Cars.com, had all the bits and pieces (floor mats, manuals, keys) and had been insanely well detailed and everything went off without a hitch. Financing rates were reasonable and in line with what my credit union could have offered me, so all in all, I"m very satisfied with the experience. My review largely parallels what Tamar A. wrote. The bottom line is that you can get a good deal at place like BFM if you are willing to be very careful. If you want your hand held, go to one of those no-haggle places. Here are the things I would be wary of, based on my experience: 1. They told me they can sell for less because they don't have a fancy showroom to pay for or overhead. That's probably true. Then they told me that they don't negotiate prices because they are already rock-bottom. As other reviewers including Leo R. have pointed out, and as I experienced, that is not true. You will overpay if you don't negotiate. 2. In particular, when they get an offer they are ready to accept, they may ask you to initialize the paper where they write down your offer. This is a sign that you've offered too much. Backpedal and give them a lower number. 3. Once you have agreed on a price, there will be a "We Owe" punchlist of things they need to do for you. This is your ONLY recourse (aside from defects covered under the lemon law)...and even then, as Anatolly I. points out, they can give you the runaround. They will ask you to sign it. Make sure they sign it, too. They did not give me a copy of the "We Owe" list; I had to ask. Don't leave without a copy of it. Also, this is probably obvious but do not rely on verbal assurances; if they say they will get you an extra key or an owner's manual, put it on the list. They have a sign saying "no extra keys, no owner's manuals" which will override any verbal promise so get it on the "We Owe" list. Also, be precise on what you ask for. My punchlist had a second key but not the activation, which they said would "take five minutes and cost five dollars." ha ha, more like $80. They then ordered the wrong (cheaper) key, put it in a place where I would be unlikely to notice, and when I pointed out their mistake tried to get me to pay the difference to the dealer's parts department and get reimbursed by them. I pushed back and they caved. 4. More to the point on verbal assurances. During the test drive I noticed an interior visual blemish. They said no-big-deal-just-take-it-to-a-local-dealer-and-they'll-fix-it. I called BS on that, and after trying to reassure me that the dealer would do this for free, they finally relented and cut hundred$ off the price. 5. They asked for my down payment before they told me what the financing would look like. Don't! Once they have your cash you are locked into whatever APR they offer. Better yet, bring your own financing. 6. If you are not taking the car home with you same day (e.g., you're buying on a Saturday night and they need to take care of the title on Monday before you can take it with), take pictures inside and out of the vehicle. My luggage cover "disappeared" between the time I paid and picked it up. I called them on it, and sure enough it turned out they had moved it to another vehicle. Inadvertent mistake? 7. Check the tires yourself for wear. I am suspicious that mine did not have enough tread to pass inspection, and that whoever they take the vehicles to may not have checked carefully. Some may see the above as reason enough not to shop there. If you are careful, though, I think you can get an attractive deal. I can't say whether a private seller or branded dealer will do less or more of this sort of stuff; in any case, be prepared. Good luck and get a good deal. read more

In October I was financially burned when I purchased a 2014 Audi S6 from Boston Foreign Motor (BFM). This is to put you on an equal footing with the dealership in the hope that you will not be taken advantage of as I was. After a test drive I thought the Audi S6 was a great car. Bobby our very likable sales person told us that the car was a lemon law-buy-back vehicle. He showed us documentation that it had had a minor problem which had been fixed and assured us that it would have a "clean" Mass title ( there is no lemon category on Mass titles). He added however that its lemon-buy-back status is clearly listed on the Carfax report. Also the car had 26 months left on its Audi full new car warranty. During the purchase I signed all of the legally required acknowledgements that I had been informed of the car's lemon-law-buy-back status. I though it the best sports sedan I had ever driven. I would soon discover how defective this car really was. One week later I changed my mind about the Audi, wishing to buy back the Mustang that I had traded in for it. In my subsequent dealings with BFM and some other dealers I discovered a few very unfortunate facts about lemon-law-buy back cars. Despite the fact that this was a beautiful car in perfect condition with 2+ years left on its full Audi warranty the car was worth a lot less than the retail price I had paid for it. It was also almost impossible to get rid of as a trade-in. When I initially called BFM, Bobby refused to take my car as a trade-in. I then contacted 2 new car dealers which had cars that I offered to purchase depending on what they might be able to give for the S6 in trade. After their considerable efforts contacting multiple other dealers and brokers they could find no one who would take my car at any price. Both sales people told me that they had never seen anything like this before and were sorry that we couldn't make a deal. When I subsequently contacted BFM, I told Bobby about this. He told me that they didn't know what they were saying and that all car dealers would take my car in trade. He further said that these car salesman were lying to me because they really didn't want to sell me their cars. He actually said all of this. Then, after some discussion, BFM did offer to take the Audi in trade for the Mustang but for much less than one would expect given the amount that I had paid for the car. I then contacted 4 high-end used car dealers telling them the full story above. Three rejected me outright. I was made to feel like some sneaky low-life trying to pass off damaged goods. The woman at the fourth dealer didn't know what a lemon law buy back car was and invited me to bring it in. When I arrived their buyer was unaware of the lemon law issue. I so informed him. He told me that BFM is well known to sell such cars as this. Since I was already there he agreed to look at my car. After some negotiation he offered me a sum similar to what Boston Foreign Motor had finally offered. I sold the car to him. The next day they listed it for $5,000 more than they had given me. This was a full $7,000 less than I had paid to BFM. Knowing what I now know, I would not have purchased this S6 even at that lower price given that it is such a pariah in the marketplace. To be clear Boston Foreign Motor can try to sell their cars for whatever price they choose. At the time I came along, that S6 had been languishing on their lot for about 4 months, a very long time in the used car business. But also to be clear the success of their business model is dependent on an unsuspecting rube like me to come along and purchase such (tainted) cars at retail prices. Bobby insisted that all dealers would be willing to take my car in trade. Aside from BFM my car had been directly or indirectly offered to a total of 14 different dealerships and auto brokers. It was immediately rejected by 13 of them. It is not at all clear whether or not the last dealership would have been willing to look at the car had they really understood what I was bringing in. BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!! This place sold me a car with four tires flipped inside out to make them appear new when they were all bald! Also day after purchase engine had issues and they refused to pay for full repairs even know I was under warranty. Their mechanic is also extremely incompetent (he's Chinese) and his apprentice is 19 years old...long story short I had to pay out of pOcket for repairs that were under warranty. They also damaged my motor by putting too much oil I'n it which is very serious. Do not buy from this place!! Especially Alvin or milad. Found a car we wanted to purchase but wanted to take care of all the financing before we got there since it was quite far from us. Dealt with Wesley who I didn't like right away, he kept trying to pressure us to put money down and said he couldn't roll in the sales tax. He told us he would call right back we waited most of the day until they were almost closed and had to call them back to see what was going on. Next day my husband calls him & we try to negotiate a price & again he says he will call right back so 5 hours later we call him and he says sorry we sold the car 20 minutes ago. These guys are so terrible. I bought a car here first mistake, it failed inspection and needed new tires. They said they would get a sticker so being naive I said OK (2nd mistake). 3 months later the rear brakes are squealing I take it to a trustworthy mechanic who tells me that I have ruined my rear brakes and if I don't get new tires I will kill the transmission. Apparently all wheel drive vehicles must have 4 matching tires?!? Needless to say scumbags doesn't even come close to describing how I feel and $1000 brake/ tire expense and almost $10000 transmission will never make the $500 price difference worth it!!! read more

I can't believe these guys are still in business. So many bad reviews! Please read them before you buy from these crooks! They sell cars that have defects and promise they will fix them for you. Instead, they will play games, lie to you and string you along. What they will NOT do is fix the problems you find with your car after you drive it off the lot. I purchased a Mercedes ML350 and I found out after I bought the car that the passenger seatbelt was broken. After several phone calls, they told me they ordered the seatbelt and that I could bring it in to be fixed. I waited around for a couple of hours while it was in their shop, only to be told that they ordered the wrong seatbelt. Needless to say, they never did get me that seatbelt, so they sold me a car with a safety issue. Not sure why they added an Inspection charge to my invoice to do a full inspection of the car, but overlooked an important broken seatbelt! They also promised to get me a plastic piece that i noticed missing from the overhead light. They kept telling me to call back in 2 weeks. That went on for months. Never got that piece either! The car came with No Owners Manual And they claimed my car had a clean Carfax, but I found it later that it had been in an accident! Very untrustworthy, shady business. Keep going past this hole in the wall and buy from a reputable dealer!! They will take your money and laugh as drive away!! read more

These people are terrible. They sold me a BMW that is a total lemon. They showed me a clean carfax and the car (as I have learned from several BMW dealerships) has clearly been is a wreck. They also spent at least an hour "detailing" the car after I had signed to buy it and the car looked EXACTLY the same after the hour, clearly it was just sitting in the garage while I waited. You have to finance with their bank, so you have no choice with financing options. Oh yea, the car also leaks and the radio freezes up and the alignment is off. At least I learned my lesson about buying from a used car dealership but I wouldn't want anyone else to learn the hard way like me. read more

BEWARE OF BOSTON FOREIGN MOTORS 523 CAMBRIDGE STREET, NA 02143 I bought a car from Boston Foreign Motors, in June 2011. And I can honestly say this, DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE. Along with the car, they insisted that we purchase the extended warranty through them. We trusted them and went as they recommended. This year (almost after a year) I called the warranty company because I had an issue with the car and came to find out that the warranty did not even exist. I spoke to Shaun, the sales person there and then to the owner Milat, however they both insisted that I did not buy the warranty, when I clearly have the warranty papers in my hands. After going back and forth.. Milat finally confessed that he had forgotten to put the warranty in the system and that he would do it that day. However I had to wait two weeks to file a claim. Milat was supposed to call us back to confirm and never did. My husband and I called him many times and each time ..we were told that he was either not in the office or away from his desk. It was at that moment my husband and I decided to confront him in his office When confronted, Milat asked us to leave his office and that he would not help us. I told him the reason why we were so upset was because I have an infant that I need to take to the doctor pretty often for check ups and that I was concerned that the car might be unsafe to drive. He showed no remorse and ordered us to leave his office. He clearly told us that he would not help us. We are considering taking him to the court. read more

I've scrolled through some of these reviews and there is simply not enough credit given to this dealership and their staff. I recently purchased a MINT 2008 Infiniti G37S with very low miles, in great condition, and EXACTLY as they advertised it! Not to mention it was already advertised as one of the lowest priced in the region and they gave me absolute top dollar for my trade in. I dealt with the younger sales advisor there named Jonathan, he was very knowledgeable of the vehicle and didn't hesitate to show me the CarFax to the vehicle (rare find at ANY dealership). As for any requests I had towards the purchase, I just asked and they DELIVERED! Financing was a breeze even as a first time buyer the approval was FAST and the banking power the finance manager had showed to be VERY effective. I have to say I had the exact opposite experience as most people here. They have a really great selection of good used cars, especially high end ones. I did my research before going in, knew the value of the car I was interested in, and was thrilled by the price I was given without having to negotiate. Every dealership you go to will try and sell you extras, but BFM only offered the tire and wheel plan which I always get anyways and find crucial for Boston. Even that was presented as an option and they weren't pushy about it at all. I took my sweet time filling out the paperwork and they didn't seem to mind staying way past close (their hours are awesome btw). After everything was signed their guy Christian cleaned up the car real nice and it was ready for me within 48 hours. I think if you do your research and have credit that's worthy of the car you want, you'll have as positive of an experience as I've had. read more

Be aware ! These guys sell accident / lemon cars right from auction. Took a day off and a long drive to testdrive a nice BMW X3, low mileage with perfect car fax as mentioned on website, no accidents. Negotiated a price of 34K and when I asked for carfax, figured out that it had accident. The guy who helped with test drive mentioned its just fender bender rear-ended. The owner claims its frontal damage.... then Unibody damage .... then learnt that pillar damage. Thats junk / salvage sold... Unibody means structural damage and the vehicle is no longer safe to protect you although they look great inside out. And then the owner says, you buy your carfax.... I didn't stop there and looked for other options and most turn out to be lemon / accident. Be aware accident is accident and the vehicle is not safe, so don't just fall in their trap. Also due to unforeseen situation if pocket crumbles and you need to sell your car.... you will get peanuts. As the owner rightly suggested, please buy your Carfax before you visit or waste your time / money and be ready to get cheated. The WORST car dealership I have ever dealt with. I went to look at a car they had listed on thier website. They didnt have the car on the lot and said they would call me by Tuesday and it would be ready. I waited until Wednesday without a phonecall. Throughout a series of phonecalls for a week without a response from the dealer at all, they decide to answer and say the car will be on the lot and available for me to test drive Thursday at five. I arrive at five, wait a hour and a half for them to bring the car to the actual lot. After the test drive the dealer informs me that the price he has confirmed with me on three different occasions is now 1,000 dollars more. To make it worse he can not justify the extra 1,000 besides saying they put four new tires on the car, which I am more than confident is not worth a thousand dolllars. I obviously left the dealership without the car and wouldnt recommend anyone wasting thier time or money with this dealership. read more

I am actually pretty surprised by the reviews left for these guys so far. I've read through them, and sadly most of them are related to the person (likely) not having good credit (not the dealer's fault), or buying a 3-5 year old make of a car that is notorious for having mechanical issues and is out of warranty. Both of those issues are not the dealer's fault, and that should not be considered grounds for a poor review. In any case, I've bought 10+ high-end cars in my life, and I had an amazing experience with these guys. I purchased a 2015 G63 - sight unseen - from them in October 2015. I needed the car delivered to Chicago by the following week and they delivered! The transaction closed on Saturday, and they had the car delivered to my doorstep by Wednesday at noon... incredible. The car itself is immaculate... it still even has the factory tags on the steering wheel and seats, plastic covering the floor mats, etc. I will definitely be calling them again to purchase another ride in the future. I'll start with the ad Boston Foreign Motors had on line it stated that the car "had no know accidents" after nogociating a price I saw the car fax that showed the car was in an accident; we re-nogeciated the price. I asked about a spare key they said they would look for it; the next day they said there was not one but the would order me one. BFM charges fees for handling registration, inspection and so on. When I came to get the car the registration was not in hand, the inspection was not performed and the second key I was promised was not there. BFM gave me a check for $250.00 to get the key myself, they will mail me the registration with a check for $29.00 to get the car inspected myself. When I got home I noticed that the owners manuals are missing and the mirror control knob was also not attached. I went back and reviewed the pictures of the car on line and the knob was there; not something that just falls off. BFM says that they will mail it to me with the registration and the check for $29.00 inspection fee. When I called the nearest Audi dealer to order a key I was charged $350.00 to $250.00 - BFM would not cover this cost. They said I could cancell my order and they would get me a key made. Too much of a hassel and I don't rust them. Buyer beware with these guys - they advertise good prices but the cars have been involved in accidents and are missing items that are standard with any other car dealer. read more

I wish i would have never found this place. I bought my first car through them, the guy gave me the car for 11,500. I put 4,000 down. later on i go look at my loan and it says i owe 11,500 still. Even after i put 4,000 down! i ended up paying 15,500 for a car that was worth 12,000 max. In a just a few days later the check engine light came on, I took it back and they said they would take care of it for me. They took the car for a few days and they took care of it, or so i thought. A month later the light comes back on and the car won't start anymore. I had it towed to a garage, they took a look at it and it had a few problems including a leaking gas casket, which altogether cost me 2,000 in repairs. I paid extra for a warranty, come to find out, I don't have a warranty. All together I've spent almost as much as the car is worth, just in repairs.
