While Dr. Gabe is skilled at what he does, my appointment was extremely invalidating. He seemed offended by things I had no control over, including being immunocompromised and demanding repeatedly that it was safe to keep my mask off. Dr. Gabe did not give me the information I needed for next steps. He showed me the x-ray, said something that was full of jargon. Then he was saying "what don't you understand?". I had to delay my care because of my therapeutic needs due to this traumatizing appointment. I have asked the office to re-consider the bill they sent me. I've come to find there is false data in my file, in addition to the Dr. being unwilling to reconsider charges. I just want to warn others who are in need of good bedside manner that this is NOT the place to go. It is demoralizing to have to pay for this appointment. read more

The people at the front desk are helpful, courteous, and informative, and they take the time to connect on a personal level. They knew me by sight and name after just one initial visit. I don't ever write reviews but wanted to add some tact on the great experience I've had at Boston Endodontics. Dr. Gabe and the dental hygienists are my favorite at Boston Endodontics. Everything is easy peasy; I went in for some work on existing route canal therapy. I was in and out in 45 minutes (in addition to my consultation which was also super quick). The staff and dental hygienists are also very accommodating and thorough. Dr. Gabe really knows his work and goes above and beyond to ensure comfort ability of his patients. I was real impressed with the X-ray equipment and the technology overall; dr. I was referred to Dr. Timothy Gabe by my periodontist about fifteen years ago. I was in desperate need of a root canal and made an appointment with Dr. Gabe. He is definitely the most skillful, painless and patient Endodontist that I ever gone to. From start to finish Dr. Gabe took the necessary amount of time to explain the entire procedure and made sure that the procedure was a painless and most comfortable one. He is very empathetic and accommodating every time I have called his office and he always returns phone calls the very same day. Since then I have had several root canals all done by Dr. Gabe all without any problems or pain afterwards. Also, about fifteen years ago, I had a back tooth that I was having a lot of problems with and my Periodontist made arrangements for that tooth to be extracted. After that appointment I called Dr. Gabe and he apprised me to come right over to his office so that he could make an assessment of this tooth. After my visit with him he said that he would treat it with a procedure that either might or might not work not a root canal, and he saved my tooth and to this day I still have it. Dr. Gabe is definitely a Master-of-the Art and a miracle worker in his field and there are no other Endodontists that I have gone to in the past that compare with his vast knowledge. Absolutely outstanding, whether in Boston or in Lynnfield. Fear of root canals has no place here. In three of them with Dr. Gabe the process, the comfort and the results have been excellent. No pain from the introduction of Novocain through the end the procedure, very targeted use of Novocaine, and a sense of comfort and confidence throughout--not to mention exceptionally responsive service, which matters, since the need for a root canal is never planned. The good news: I cannot imagine a more pleasant experience (that involves holes being drilled in my mouth, that is). From the initial consultation to the actual root canal treatment, everyone I encountered was friendly and helpful. Dr. Labib performed the treatment and made it completely painless and unintimidating. The billing staff were very helpful in dealing with insurance and everything. I'd heard a lot of horror stories about root canals before having mine, But you know what? It wasn't that bad. Yes, it was trying. And there are lots of things I'd like to do *instead of* having a root canal. But Dr. Singer was pleasant, assuring and efficient. The office is in an odd building with small, maze like corridors. But the actual room where you have the procedure is outfitted with the latest in equipment, including a filmless x-ray machine. My dentist referred me to Boston Endodontics for a root canal. This was to be my first root canal ever and I have to say that I imagined the worst possible scenario....Fortunately I was completely wrong. I met with Dr. Gabe who immediately calmed my fears. He listened to my concerns, explained the procedure, and patiently answered any questions. I have TMD which was a major concern for me and Dr. Gabe kept this in mind throughout the treatment, limiting how much I had to open my jaw. Dr. Gabe said even a little pain was too much and he meant it. Any pain was quickly remedied. I also want to note the staff and Doctors' Assistant were all very friendly, comforting, and helpful. Dr. Gabe is absolutely incredible. I came to him on the referral of my dentist, after a very traumatic history with dental/oral procedures. Following my initial appointment with him, I ended up needing to come in on an emergency basis far sooner than we had originally planned to have the root canal done. Not only was he accommodating about doing the procedure early given my pain, but he was also incredibly sensitive to my psychological state given my complex history with oral surgery. His office even called to follow up with me following my procedure, and have kept in touch to make sure I am okay since then. I've been here twice for root canals and both times have been positive experiences. I always feel as if I'm the only person in the office as I have never seen another patient there! (Although one day James Taylor had been there just before I got there...) Like any normal person I was apprehensive about the procedure but the doctor explained it completely to me which really put me at ease. I suppose it made me feel very good because I feel asleep right there in the chair. (Both times!) And no, they didn't give me any gas! That is just how gentle his touch was. read more

Had to have an emergency root canal after my dentist proactively replaced a "leaching" filling only to put the new one right on my root. Haven't felt this much pain, well, ever (admittedly I have no children so I'm going to assume child labor might be more painful). From the moment I arrived at Boston Endodontics, Dr. Gabe and his lovely assistant (I can't recall her name) rushed me in and carefully and concernedly (is that a word?) took care of the root canal in an unbelievable short amount of time - less than an hour to do the first procedure and pain I had suffered through for days was instantly gone. The follow up procedure was equally as easy and pain free. I will go here from now on given the professionalism, expertise, efficiency and overall good-naturedness of the staff here. read more

Dr Gabe is attentive, competent, easy going, and just generally fantastic. I trusted him the minute I met him and he didn't let me down. He figured out my evasive tooth problem that 3 different dentists couldn't pinpoint. He confidently promised me that he would take care of it. He fit my appt in at the last moment. He took care of everything in about 30 minutes. He reassured me there would be no pain, not during the appt and not afterwards. He was completely right. I Just had my first root canal with Dr. Singer and had to join yelp to write this review. I was very very apprehensive about having this done, and put it off for months - finally I just did it. My recommendation: bring your iPod - and just relax. Dr. Singer did an awesome job - it took less than an hour start to finish, and I literally felt nothing. With my headphones in, I was so relaxed, I almost dozed off. If you have to get a root canal, get it here - if I need one again, I will travel back to Boston to get it. read more

I needed an emergency root canal. When I entered the office I asked if they took my dental insurance plan. I was told that they did take my plan. I filled out all the intake forms, gave them my insurance card and driver's license. I was taken to the exam room and the work began. When finished, upon check out, I was astonished to be handed a bill for $1,800.00. Since I had insurance I never expected to see a bill like that. When I asked about the price, I was told that they did not take my insurance and I owed $1,800.00 Imagine my shock. Since I was semi sedated and there were several patients waiting I paid $500.00 and was told to take it up with my insurance company when I got home. My insurance company told me that the dentist should have advised me of the price and that they did not take my insurance before they began treatment. The office staff was very abrupt and insulting. Now, I am getting threats and calls from a collection agency. When I tried to explain my side of this misrepresentation with the the agency, she yelled at me and hung up on me. I must add that the dentist was very nice but I can not give a positive recommendation because of what I feel are their unethical practices. read more

I have had three root canals in my life- The first one was so-so at Charles River Dental 10 yrs ago (before they went Hollywood;). The second one was at Gentle Dental (I know, I know...) and was protracted and disjointed leaving a really bad feeling after the experience. The third one was done here at Boston Endodontics this morning. Wow. Talk about a night & day experience from the first two... Dr Gabe is the utmost professional, assertive, yet empathetic, skilled and experienced and, above all, FAST! Start to finish for a distal molar (which has four roots) was 1hr and 15mins. The chairs are comfortable, the staff kind and supportive, the office bright and clean w/ updated equipment. This all matters to me as I am realizing root canals are clearly a part of life as we get older (esp us '80's kids who had silver fillings that are now loosening, etc...), so they will naturally be happening more frequently. It is nice to know there is a place that makes this type of procedure so efficient without feeling like a factory or losing the empathy. Dr Gabe is a serious Boss! Rude receptionist (woman whose voice is on their answering service) hung up the phone before I could even schedule an appointment. I went into detail about how I needed a second opinion, and asked about whether the endodontists in this practice had knowledge of a specific area of focus I needed advice on. She interjected that she couldn't answer that, and she wasn't willingly to even ask the doctors that she works for. I asked her name and she hung up. After many years of indecision and increasing discomfort, the move to Dr. Gabe was the right one. He was fast, efficient, professional and thorough. I received a root canal on April 2nd at the Lynnfield office I was referred there from my dentist. I've been back and forth to the dentist number of times trying to get a straight answer as I sit at home day today crying and tears ever since I got the root canal I have been in some pain but now I have radiated pain I've been to my dentist I told him in the staff as well that I have been getting fed up and I'm sick and tired of getting no answers whatsoever I'm not from the area and I travel very far to get dental treatment from my dentist also. I have got very bad dental work from other dentist but I found a dentist that is very good and I put my trust in him I have spent on my root canal about 1,800.00 I was told by my dentist that I needed a mouthguard maybe a month ago so I invested in a mouthguard that cost me 500.00 but I'm still having radiated pain I'm at my wit's end because I'm spending ridiculous money and not getting any pain that will go away at all I got a root canal cap put on a tooth in front of a root canal that I got done this April a few days ago I'm still experiencing pain nobody can pinpoint where the pain is coming from but always blow me off it seems I am still taking Tylenol and Advil and on my 8th bottle of Tylenol everything was great I got a cap put on my tooth in October and everything was great never had any pain whatsoever until they started playing around with my cap that's when the pain started the cap in the post cost me around 2,356.00 it just feel like it's radiating pain I can barely eat anything and I when I drink water it seems to intensify even more I did go back to my dentist this past week for the third time his suggestion was wait till April 22nd and he'll put the filling in my newest root canal I says to myself while what is that really going to do for me if I'm in excruciating pain but nobody is even caring in the world that one of their patients is suffering on a day-to-day basis I have been back and forth and I'm beside myself that somebody has to suffer on a day-to-day basis I am actually out of work for a week and a half now suffering because of people's negligence it breaks my heart but I am just trying to be strong and get through it this happened a few years ago and it seems like somebody hit a nerve I went to multiple dentists and everybody just had their own opinions and I still suffered went months and months even had to go to the hospital in excruciating pain for a stronger pain pill it upsets me because I'm spending thousands of dollars that I do not have I don't have dental insurance I have MassHealth I do think it has to do with that as well I'm not happy with any of the dental work that I've had done because I'm still in pain and this is not right for a patient to suffer. It's always been hard for dentist in root canal specialist to pinpoint where the pain is coming from but the pain first started where I had the cap put on after multiple times adjusting the bite playing with the bite and everything else it seemed to set off something after I had my root canal done I experience pain after the anesthesia wore off my opinion somebody hit a nerve and I am suffering I still have to wait until April 22nd to go in to the dentist and have them put the filling in I've said the dentist number of times that it feels like the filling is loose in between I've said it probably a hundred times but who am I nobody believes me in the end they try to tell me I need specialist in everything else I go to specialist they don't see anything wrong it always refers back to a tooth it's always been a tooth in the past when it has happened I have pain up in that area where the cap is and it just radiates throughout my mouth. I had to take out a credit card to get through all of this but it breaks my heart that I have to suffer but I've already explained myself number of times and it feels like nobody is listening hopefully I will get some relief soon if not I will go somewhere else and get a second opinion. read more
